2017 College Football Thread: Hawaiian QB devastated to find out Jesus was "kinda rooting for Georgia" (1 Viewer)

MEM Top RB Henderson’s hamstring being treated pregame on sidelines. Having trouble loosening up in the cold, reportedly.

Darnold played like a 4th round project last night.

But he'd be a great NFL QB if they would just create a rule that forbids all pass attempts longer than 5 yards.
Or gave extra points for pretty meaningless throws that extend a drive but don’t actually accomplish anything and then more points for the eventual turnover created by the QB.

Honestly I don’t know how Herbstreit and Palmer got on TV after that game and still tried to justify the guys projection to the NFL. Urban got on TV and said don’t let him set his feet and he can’t do anything. I.E. Blitz the #### out of him and he folds like a wet napkin. Which is what he did. NFL defenses would eat him alive.

I think those guys who cover the college game full time don't want to be seen as talking down a guy's stock. At least I hope that's the reason they did that.

I love how he needs extra sideways momentum to throw an out route, so he runs as fast as he can towards the sideline and then has a huge (Tebow-ish) windup to throw to a receiver who is literally 5 yards away from him. I admit that it does look kinda cool, but it's ultimately pointless when the ball sails over the head of said receiver.

@APMarkLong: Lamar Jackson with 107 yards passing, with 2 TDs and 2 INTs, and 111 yards rushing and a score in first half of #TaxSlayerBowl

The one thing with Darnold is that if he actually gets a good coach he has a ton of upside.

He basically is an older high school qb at this point given he has not progressed at all.

Big issue is he doesn’t trust the WRs so he double clutches on a ton of stuff resulting in holding ball longer and getting stripped of then panicking and chucking the ball. The poor line doesn’t help but he does have skills just being wasted with this MAC level coaching staff.

And I think that number is very generous.

Looked like closer to 25K AIS.

@APMarkLong: Smallest #TaxSlayerBowl crowd (41,310) since 1957 game between Texas A&M and Tennessee (41,160)

I like Franklin, but that's one of the things that bothers me about him. They show him on the sidelines throwing his hands in the air. He should have been in the face of the sideline judge or someone.  That was b*******. Franklin seems way too passive when it comes to referees a lot.

Cool story about Huskies band spelling out radio guys name.

FSU band spelling out Deckerhoff would be more impressive though.
