2017 College Football Thread: Hawaiian QB devastated to find out Jesus was "kinda rooting for Georgia" (2 Viewers)

Really, Ohio state and Oklahoma both lose their Q.B.'s and they are ranked higher than Wisconsin, and Clemson who lost to Syracuse and just shat the sheets on National T.V. are all ranked higher than Wisconsin.
OSU will experience addition by subtraction in the QB area.

ETA:  Nevermind...I see this was covered.

Oh no, Clemson lost one game on the road where their QB got hurt to an improving Cuse team with a playmaking QB who had a nice game.

Hey...Alabama!!!  Stay the #### away from Coach Partridge!!! You #####!  TIA
It's been a rumor for a few months now, but apparently he's not coming to Ttown...but more offers are on the way.

We need 4 new assts in total...filled 1 slot with Jeff Banks, formerly ST Coach for TAMU...who's got a great recruiting rep.  Saban appears focused on recruiters...I'm guessing because our new DC likely won't be in the league of Smart in that dept.

Yeah....STAY THE #### AWAY!!!!!!!!!!  ;)

Clelin Ferrell, Austin Bryant, Mark Fields, and Kendall Joseph all returning in 2018... Christian Wilkins undecided but he’s not sitting with the players leaving tonight at the banquet. He has graduated.

Our defense is going to dominate next year.

That is dumb as #### for Ferrell and Bryant. What on earth are they thinking.

Any player with a first round grade needs to go get paid.

They didn’t get a first round grade apparently. It’s been reported that Ferrell, Bryant, and Wilkins all got round 2 grades. The exact wording was something about the large # of QBs pushing elite Def talent into round 2.

I dont disagree though. Ferrell and Wilkins are first rounders all day IMO.

Yea Ferrell is 100% a first rounder. Maybe not Bryant. That's crazy.

Hopefully you all run bryant out there again so it won't matter.

With Daboll moving back to the NFL, it appears Alabama is hiring Chip Long as new OC...ND's 34-yr-old current OC.

We’ll find out soon enough, but there are so,e rumblings that Christian Wilkins may be coming back.  Selfishly it would be fun to see him, but I’d probably rather him go make his money. He’s done enough, I’d hate for something to happen if he came back.

Why isn't Dabo telling those guys to go pro? That is monumentally bad advice they are getting. Even if they don't get hurt, to spend another year playing for free when they would be making 2-3M is idiotic.

Maybe the Clemson girls are that hot?  Maybe they think they have a good shot at playing for a champ?  Maybe some are just irrationally afraid of taking the leap?  Don't get me wrong, I'd leave in a heartbeat.  Hell, I'd probably leave if I were rated a 4th round pick.  I'd do whatever I could to get to the NFL if I had the shot.  Some people have different motivations though.

Plenty of guys have left early under Dabo, you have zero clue as to why this specific group of players decided to stay another year.  But I get the butthurt, it’ll be 4 ACC Titles in a row.

Butthurt :lmao:    you all aren't anywhere near us as a program. But congrats on being relevant finally for the first time in 35 years.

Clemson girls are hot... on that point though, I’m not sure that matters to Wilkins.

I've said it many times, not just about clemson, but any player getting a round 1-3 grade needs to go. Any coach not actively telling his players that is a tool.

Well we don't know what Dabo is paying

I understand Cappy's point, but some people just have different priorities. You only have one chance to play college ball and some people want to get everything they can out of it. Clemson is a no doubt contender next year and these guys might want another ring with the Tigers.

As a Clemson fan, it’s exciting to see these guys want to come back and finish things off with a bang. It appears these guys have a special bond. But it will be a gut-punch if any sustain a serious injury next season.

That's fine and I get that but it's already absurd to me that none of these guys are getting paid. To come back and play again for free and risk it all is absolutely nuts. I mean it's their decision and that's great but they should have been pushed out the door imo.

That seems crazy. Not that mock drafters know it all, or anything, but I haven't personally seen one without him being in round one.
There was a mock yesterday that had him at 50 which is beyond stupid to me. I’ve seen as high as the Cowboys, as low as 50. No doubt in my mind he’s a first rounder.

If they can afford the insurance to protect against the risk of getting hurt, then why not?

The insurance isn't what people think it is. If they get drafted in round 4 because of a relatively minor injury or drop in performance it doesn't cover anything. Only for a catastrophic injury iirc.

I think it's not a slam dunk to come out with something less than a 1st round ground grade.  Players with 3rd round grades slip every year.  Players get bad advice about coming out or fall on their face in combine/workouts.

Of course, players should be paid explicitly to help offset some of this any way.

Andy D has Ferrell as a 1st rounder, so pretty sure you can take that to the bank.

Talk about a sad sad sad story..... heir apparent to the Wazzu WB job Tyler Hillinski Found dead.  Suicide, riffle.

kid had the world by the balls for the next two years and decided to end it...... just a really awful story.

Think he wants to become a doctor, so I get it if he wants to finish up undergrad, play in the pros for a few years, and pick up med school after that.

Good luck to everyone playing Stanford in 2018 :scared:
Yea they're gonna be good, but man, another 250 free hits to his body. Insane. Stanford would be there for him when he got done.
