May I ask a separate Q in here?

At MFL, when I draft a suspended player, I gotta eat it. It won't let me put him on IR.

In other leagues, people can put a suspended player on IR.

How do I know in the MFL League Rules? I'd draft differently if I knew beforehand....something to know for next year

Go to reports>>rules>>league settings.  Scroll down and check the following section called "Injured Reserve Setup":

Player Must Be Classified As Before Being Deactivated: Ir

it will show as either IR, or S if suspended players are allowed or O if players designated as out are allowed .

Thanks for starting this thread, I also have an IR spot for the first time.

Also, like Anarchy99 said, new change this year, teams do not have to 'designate to return', players placed on IR are automatically eligible to return after 8 weeks (but don't have to return).  Not saying your information is wrong, I bet teams designated to return when they didn't know the rule change or just chose to designate to return.

What about a guy like Will Fuller?  He is listed as 'Out'.  Can Thomas Rawls be stashed in an IR spot?  What about Andrew Luck?

 Thanks for the adds.........

I tried to keep the names to the more relevant/known fantasy players,(or ones that may have a noteworthy role if returning)  with it being slightly more detailed with the ones AFTER the season opener.

I think that Mitchell was placed on IR before the season started, but I am not 100%. Not much info out there regarding a possible return.  I will try and look around and see what I can come up with for him, but at this point I think the season is a lost cause for Mitchell. Of these players, he might have been the only one that would have a role that would cause him to crack some lineups. (At least Mitchell was relevant there for a few weeks last year or two for the Pats)

For some of these "lesser" players, its hard coming up with any useful or new information, since they largely go unnoticed to the general public of fantasy players.

That's a rather obtuse view.  Dynasty leagues would clearly be interested in all of those players.

Actually, its not obtuse in any way whatsoever.

The primary post clearly said "For Redraft", but after editing, re-editing and making changes, somehow that got lost in the shuffle or was perhaps deleted.

Just for the sake of completeness, I will add "re-draft" to the original post, if it makes you sleep easier at night.

Personally, I can keep up with the guys (and also would in dynasty like you are alluding to) but I kind of kept track of it and figured it would be an easy place for people to look, that may not keep as close an eye on things as some of us.

True, in some leagues, any and damn near ALL players mean something to someone, but I generally stayed  with the more popular startable players in most standard formats. Of course, this is open to wide interpretation.

If you would like to keep a running tally of players like Pharoh Cooper, Johnny Holton  and Jacob Hollister, and how they may affect your taxi squad, or your deep dynasty teams....by all means feel free to do so. But I don't have the desire to include those type players that generally aren't started in most places. AND, that won't help most people here either.

Fair enough, but I don't understand the point of tracking IR players that are "obscure, but not too obscure", especially when it's just your opinion on what's too obscure.  You really think it's worth tracking Harry Douglas over a guy like Dede Westbrook?

You'd be surprised how quickly a "deep dynasty stash" like Jacob Hollister becomes "how did I not pay attention to Gronk's handcuff?" when Gronk sprains his pinky rib and Hollister goes for 10/103/2.  Once the games matter there is no distinction between "deep" and "relevant".  Every player is one play, certainly one game, away from being a starter for your redraft team.  How can you not want that list at your fingertips?  I bet a whole bunch of redraft players that had no idea who Tarik Cohen and Chris Carson were on draft day now wishes they had.

I came here to post about Dede Westbrook because that's a team that is in desperate need of weapons and Westbrook is a powder keg waiting to happen (unfortunately in more ways that one, to his potential detriment) and should be on this kind of list when I saw your response to him being listed.  If the purpose of the post is to not lose track of players so as to be able to ambush your league mid-season with a great snag I don't understand why you wouldn't track them all.   This post is a great concept and I'd be happy to start an "all players" version of it but that's kind of silly to have two of them going.

I think Westbrook is a worthy track, based on the pathway to meaningful playing time when he gets back and the talent he displayed in the preseason.

At WORST the guy puts up Mohammed Sanu like numbers.  That's a usable floor.

“It” is information, and it has no expiration date.

 A couple of points -

 A - I completely agree on Westbrook.

But the fact is, he has never played an in an NFL regular season game. So until he is ready to come back, he isn't any more relevant than anyone that may return down the road.  I view him like a rookie that will start NEXT year.  Until he returns, he is only a blip on the radar at best, and furthermore, he isn't even slated to return yet....not that I have seen.

Tarik Cohen and Chris Carson were all guys that many of us knew of. In fact anyone that was a Jordan Howard owner that didn't even think about Cohen was a bit silly. In Carson's case there were at least 3 if not 4 people ahead of him on the depth chart.  AND - These guys were never on IR. Reflect on why this thread was made.

But I think you are right. You should start your own post, and include every player you choose. I did this as a favor to a few of the guys around here, that didn't track  many of the more popular names that are slated to return, IN MOST STANDARD FORMATS.

But as often happens in the Shark Pool, someone wants to take issue with whatever someone does, and they want to start going down the hair splitting, and "semantics" road, to try and tinker with the original plan.

This may have been completely innocent, but this is why I had several members contact me last year via PM and say they chose not to come here anymore.

No matter how helpful I was trying to be, its become more of an issue and pain in the ### debating everyone's idea of who is relevant and who is not. That's just not worth my time, as I was just trying to post reminders for people that didn't follow a few things as well as I do mentally.

So you mentioned This post is a great concept and I'd be happy to start an "all players" version of it but that's kind of silly to have two of them going..

I will delete this one, and there is no need bumping this one up anymore and cluttering up the front page of the Shark Pool.

Everyone please refer to HankMoody's upcoming massive list/thread of players, and sift through the names and determine who is relevant in your leagues, and who is not, and proceed from there.

MODS - Please lock this thread and keep it from cluttering up the front page.

All earlier incomplete lists/posts have been deleted, everyone please refer to HankMoody's upcoming list.
