I'm not complaining about the outcome but why does LA leave a struggling LHP out there against a long string of right handed hitting Giants.

He was their first round pick last year. No idea how the players will pan out but this seems like a fantastic haul for Tampa.

 
Are you ####### kidding me on the James Paxton injury? That guy could go on the DL for eating donut sprinkles too fast.  I can’t believe his luck, and mine for depending on him.  :wall:

Did they really get Cease in that trade? Holy Christ. 

The other trades the White Sox made (Sale and Eaton) might be just ok, or pretty good, but Jimenez seems about a sure a thing as they come, and Cease looks better than any of your other young pitchers sans Kopech.  

Giolito has looked better lately, Lopez is a guy that has the stuff but for some reason he has trouble getting swings and misses. 

In my dynasty league Cease was just sitting there despite 80+ prospects rostered. I’m not a zygote pitcher gambler, but his results look quite impressive. So I grabbed him.

Max Muncy has been the Dodgers best hitter all year. 

The Dodgers are having trouble scoring runs. 

Max Muncy is not starting for a third consecutive game (Bellinger out tonight also). 

The day Dave Roberts is canned I actually think I’ll throw a party. What a ####### moron. :hot:

The Dodgers' offense should be better against LHP after their deadline acquisitions but Bochy setting up the rotation to throw three lefty SPs at them is the smart move until LA proves otherwise.

What a total piece of garbage. That was the fastest pitch he's thrown all year. The fastest first pitch in a game he'sever thrown and faster than 99% of all pitches for him in his MLB career. He absolutely was trying to hurt Acuna. Screw that guy.

I don’t get it. Acuna is hitting lead off homers, which is one run. If you don’t want him to hit lead off homers pitch him carefully. Ricky Henderson took a lot of walks for this very reason. 

Plunking the guy, on the first pitch no less, is just bad sportsmanship. It’s also dumb because you just screwed your whole team. 

Urena becomes only the 4th pitcher in MLB history to start a game and only face one batter. 

Acina’s 5 game homer streak stays intact because a HBP is not an official AB. Hope he’s ok, he and Soto are just incredible rookie talents.

they had a simulated game for the lefty hitters because they weren't getting any at bats. :lmao:

Yadier Molina reached base on a dropped third strike tonight.  No shtick.  

Even better for Cards fans, there were two outs at the time, and the Cards scored three runs in the inning.

 
Reds' 4th inning @Brewers last night was a thing of, well, a thing of something.  After a double and single to put runners on 2nd/3rd, they scored 4 runs without getting the ball out of the infield:

- Fielder's Choice grounder to 3rd, throwing error at home (run scores)

- Infield hit (P deflects ball away from 1B) (loads bases)

- Infield hit (Ball hits 2B ump) (run scores)

- Infield hit (dribbler between P and 3B) (run scores)

- Passed ball (run scores)
