sounded like Arizona and Buffalo were in on him (among others I'm sure). didn't really think he was worth what I assume he'll get. makes more sense in Philly though.

Buccigross tweeted he's getting 5 years @ $7MM. Simmonds out?

Glad to see Hextall finally add a piece just not that thrilled with JVR coming back. Wasn’t a big fan of his when he left, kind of :mellow: . And I’m not so sure Simmonds is guaranteed to be gone. Even after this signing Flyers still have 14m in Cap space, so that’s no an issue. Actually wouldn’t be surprised if they extended him, but if it’s not on a reasonable number then Hextall might trade him. He’s not one to let assets walk away for nothing.

I’d rather have him than Tavares. At this point I’m not expecting to get either but would be a little bummed if that ends up being the case.

All reports yesterday said Hutton was getting 3 years at $4MM per. Came in with AAV of $2.75MM though and he turned down a bigger offer elsewhere. That’s beautiful.

Dumb deals for a team that isn't anywhere close to winning. 

Mirror had said Ryan was Leafs #1 fallback if they didn't get Tavares. I wonder with so many people already signed away, if the Leafs bring Bozak back if they don't get JT... which maybe they're not going to have to worry about :oldunsure:

 
Frequent healthy scratch Ian Cole gets 3 years, 4.25M per from Colorado. 

Cole is actually good and should never have been scratched but that's still a lot of dough.

Yeah, it's more about having so much tied up in the backend already with Hedman, Sergachev, McDonogh. The lower AAV/longer term makes a lot of sense though for re-signing Kucherov, run at Tavares, etc..

Tavares tells NYI not to trade him at the deadline, refused extension talks, and then skips out of town. Wow!

Imagine the haul the NYI could of received in a trade

Its a bit more than i would have liked, but one key thing missed is that it gives avalanche an extension offering.

Islanders just gave Leo Komarov 4 years, $12 million, which... good luck with that. I love Leo but he's very clearly lost a step from a couple years ago when he was a world class #### disturber.
