Hurts is an incredible runner, excellent vision. He's going to set the single season rushing record for a QB at OU.His development has been guided so well, after deservedly screeching to a halt at the end of his Sophomore year.
Historic night...what a start.
Ya think he's happy to be facing Big12 defenses this year?Hurts is an incredible runner, excellent vision. He's going to set the single season rushing record for a QB at OU.
It's UConn - they're practically a DII football team at this point.I'm not a sports gambler - but UConn +21 has to be the bet of the weekend, right?
I mean - how in the world is Illinois a 21 point favorite on the road against anyone?
Last year I saw some stat that when Army was +24 (or something) they had some insane cover record. So I loaded up +28 against Oklahoma and....that worked out. I suspect this will too. They just dominate the ball.Army +23
They're getting good players too. Couple I went to HS with has a son playing there now. Jr. on the line. Could have gone just about anywhere but chose West Point. There's some disciplined, athletic, determined studs on this team that will alley whip their opponents.Last year I saw some stat that when Army was +24 (or something) they had some insane cover record. Yeah Willie. Blame UF again.Taggart: Dehydration possible factor in FSU loss
Need some Gatorade.

Michigan State's offense looked ... interesting last week.#GoArmy
Yea. That’s been a given the last three years.Michigan State's offense looked ... interesting last week.
As someone who hated watching all the triple option nonsense for a decade at GT, I can say though is totally false. But I'm willing to have you cite the number of injuries caused by "illegal" blocks (not even sure that means in this context) versus the number of injuries caused by different blocking schemes. They slow the game down and drastically limit possessions.
I think MI will win, but I doubt its by more than 23 points.
I don't know why any P5 school would schedule one of the military academies. Its a completely different style of offense you have to prepare for and the way they block is dangerous and illegal.
Here are a number of plays from last week where the Army center has the Rice DT engaged and the Army guard comes and chops the DT from the side. The Army guard lines up 1/2 yard behind the center to do this exact thing:As someone who hated watching all the triple option nonsense for a decade at GT, I can say though is totally false. A chop block is blocking at the thigh or below while the defender is engaged. I can't see on the first one you linked but the second two the blocker hits him in the side/waist area. But forget the specifics for a moment, how many injuries have occurred due to illegal chop blocks? Here are a number of plays from last week where the Army center has the Rice DT engaged and the Army guard comes and chops the DT from the side. One
Two
Three
There are more from just that game, but I think you get the point.
I do not know how to find that data.A chop block is blocking at the thigh or below while the defender is engaged. Do you know how to find out if the games Army plays in has referees?I do not know how to find that data.
Look, I don't want to be the ####### that comes down on Army. I mean - its Army.Do you know how to find out if the games Army plays in has referees?
P5 teams do it for ego and usually an easy win - "See? OUR school respects our military! (as long as we can beat the hell out of them)". Notre Dame, of course, is the king of this garbage.Look, I don't want to be the ####### that comes down on Army. I mean - its Army.
But I stand by the initial point in that it does no P5 team any good to play a military academy. The offense is not something you see anywhere else, so you waste lots of practice time practicing for something you will never see again. And - while its clearly up for debate - the type of blocking the academies use is at least potentially questionable.
Vegas is the only poll we needLol at Maryland -2 against a ranked team.

Why do you think Michigan scheduled Army?
Actually, ND schedules Navy every year to show gratitude for Navy training in South Bend during WWII. The money kept the university afloat.P5 teams do it for ego and usually an easy win - "See? I'm sure you're right and it's not the ND had an easy win on the schedule.Actually, ND schedules Navy every year to show gratitude for NAVY training in South Bend during WWII. The money kept the university afloat.
There’s not a Vegas poll but there should be. They know infinitely more than any group of dumb writers.Splain, Lucy

Per my friend Chris Fallica:
Unranked favorites vs teams ranked 20-25th are on a 19-4 ats run. (Maryland)
Totally get it.You realize it's Maryland we're talking about, right?
Well, as I'm still a semi-fan I hope the trend continues. Thanks for the info.
I do think it's partly recency bias of both Maryland looking amazing last week and Devito in particular looking like poop against Liberty. I also think maybe some bettors think Locksley might be the real deal and that Josh Jackson found his right fit. Syracuse did start out as the small favorite, but the money has come in big on Maryland from the right bettors to move it to where it is.I agree that Locksley will probably be a good fit. He knows the area and recruiting it should be a strength (instead of every good kid going to WV, VT, or ####### Penn State). Hopefully his last head coaching stint was an eye-opener for him and he's learned something.Totally get it.I do think it's partly recency bias of both Maryland looking amazing last week and Devito in particular looking like poop against Liberty. Fyi for those looking for ACC Network. YouTube TV has THREE week free preview this weekend.
paid for it last week The Cuse was majorly overrated last year. Guessing that early rankings was a remnant.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, Syracuse goes right down the field and scores. 28-13The Cuse was majorly overrated last year. Guessing that early rankings was a remnant.
His career ended at Bama in late ‘17 when Ds went all in to take away the run, and he couldn’t do enough thru the air. He did work hard in ‘18 on his passing, and it showed in the SECC. And obviously Riley is a great offensive mind. But he’ll have to do it well at some point.Ya think he's happy to be facing Big12 defenses this year?
