Solid won for Georgia. They didn't win at the lines, didn't make many big plays, but found a win to beat a very good Irish squad. It didn't look pretty, but that was a really nice win for the Bulldogs.
Not true. Remember Manti Te’o? Jaylon Smith? Hell Jimmy Clausen was the #1 overall recruit in his class. They get a lot of 3 and 4 star players but never any 5 star players. You need 5 star players to win championships.
All true. It still doesn't make your statement true though. They don’t play a conference title game. Their best win was over a team that finished 15th. They only beat 2 teams that finished ranked I’m not mistaken.
visually? they're not that bad.Colorado State's uniforms are gross.
But you just said it isn't the talent. It is the talent. Why they don't get the elite players, I don't know. I remember those people and that's like every year for Alabama, Clemson and Georgia. I think people that think ND is a desirable location for the elite players is living in the past. Not true. Remember Manti Te’o? Jaylon Smith? They don’t get the top recruits now because it is Kelly’s strategy. Remember his RKG comment? He thinks he can make 5 stars.
Arizonavisually? they're not that bad.
without the score graphic, though, you could give me like 100 guesses and I don't think I'd be able to figure out who they are.
Their last two classes have 49 recruits; 30 are 4-starsBut you just said it isn't the talent. It is the talent. Why they don't get the elite players, I don't know. Being relevant to old white guys will get you to the playoffs, being relevant to young athletes will win you the games when you get there. All true. It still doesn't make your statement true though.
Yes, that's what they get; low end 4 star recruits. That's my point. They'll always have a competitive team b/c of that but they get no elite players. You need elite players to win championships. Their highest recruit this past year was 115th.Their last two classes have 49 recruits; 30 are 4-stars
They barely hit the blue chip ratio for 2019.Their last two classes have 49 recruits; 30 are 4-stars
Their current junior class has 10 4-stars. 40 blue chips over 3 years is elite talent.Yes, that's what they get; low end 4 star recruits. That's my point. By its very definition making the blue-chip list means you have elite talent. They barely hit the blue chip ratio for 2019.

For a team that boasts such national appeal and deep pockets, that’s not getting it done.
If 16 teams meet the criteria, there’s definitely room to have a wide variance in “eliteness.” Having Bloomberg money would be nice, but having Gates or Bezos money would be even better.By its very definition making the blue-chip list means you have elite talent.
One of their better years as they have actually had a couple players ranked in the double digits. Typically their 4 star players are in the triple digits. Compare that to the teams that win championships who have that caliber of player as their 3rd stringers.Their current junior class has 10 4-stars. 40 blue chips over 3 years is elite talent.
I guess man. We can argue in circles all day. Notre Dame gets top-shelf talent, maybe not to the extent some other schools but more than enough to win big games and compete for a national title. They aren’t Small School U out there. If 16 teams meet the criteria, there’s definitely room to have a wide variance in “eliteness.” Having Bloomberg money would be nice, but having Gates or Bezos money would be even better.
They’re definitely not small school U, but they’re not competing with the top shelf teams. Anytime they play one of the superiorly talented schools, they lose. They luck into a playoff spot occasionally, kick a fg and go home.I guess man. We can argue in circles all day. Mike Leach is the man. He should have a higher profile job (assuming he wants one).Gardner Minshew in Pullman tonight and he's easily the coolest man in the world right now.
Buffalo has a hellofa HC38-22 final, Buffalo beats Temple in their seemingly-annual matchup. Nice win.
Couldn't you say that about all non-Clemson and Alabama programs right now? They’re definitely not small school U, but they’re not competing with the top shelf teams. Yes. The chest thumping is a touch nauseating. Maybe Notre Dame should lower their academic standards...Couldn't you say that about all non-Clemson and Alabama programs right now?
They literally just took Georgia to the wire on the road. Like, 20 minutes ago. They’re definitely not small school U, but they’re not competing with the top shelf teams. I thought they were the better team. He's arguing the program that has their own national television deal, that made the playoffs last season, has 3 1st round picks in the past two years, that just went on the road and that team set a new attendance record...isn't relevant. ?? So, let's just say he's on a roll. Sometimes you just gotta agree to disagree. This appears to be one of those times. They literally just took Georgia to the wire on the road. On a day where his team had to muster up the courage to battle......Charlotte.He's arguing the program that has their own national television deal, that made the playoffs last season, has 3 1st round picks in the past two years, that just went on the road and that team set a new attendance record...isn't relevant. ?? First half has taken 2 hours and 7 minutes.tuned in to this Toledo v Colorado St game and a few minutes ago the color guy said there have been 28 flags in the first half
i'm not sure if he's kidding
You can watch on facebook. Is Hawaii game not on TV?

I go either way on him. He's very reserved, very milquetoast at times, kinda comes off as a little clueless/oblivious. UB tends to struggle to make in-game adjustments.Buffalo has a hellofa HC
Talent level notwithstanding, he won 6 D3 titles in 8 years.I go either way on him. He's very reserved, very milquetoast at times, kinda comes off as a little clueless/oblivious. UB tends to struggle to make in-game adjustments.
He has followed a similar trajectory to the most recent few coaches. A couple middling seasons, latch on to a decent QB, make a bowl, QB leaves, rinse repeat. They seem to be doing a little better in recruiting, but it's been slow. One bowl game every five years and a MAC title appearance every 10 years isn't going to sustain a program in an NFL city. Especially with the basketball team having been so successful and seemingly continuing the best-in-the-MAC pace in recruiting.
I'm encouraged with today, this was a nice win over a team who was getting votes in both polls. But I'd really be impressed with an above-.500 season in the MAC even after losing like 14 starters.
No doubt, he had great years at Whitewater. I'd (genuinely) like to see him do it in D-1.Talent level notwithstanding, he won 6 D3 titles in 8 years.
Oh I hear ya. I just thought calling him clueless was a bit over the top. Though I don't get to watch many UB games so you may be right. No doubt, he had great years at Whitewater. I'd (genuinely) like to see him do it in D-1.
I phrased that poorly. He's definitely not actually-clueless on the sideline. He just looks like it sometimes....looks dumfounded, emotionless, stunned when his team struggles. I think it's just his personality. Some games (like last week against Liberty), UB gets ruthlessly outcoached. But last year was a record-breaking year for the program, first time to 10 wins. He's got a very, very long leash right now, and if he can string together some successful seasons, he's easily the best coach in school history.Oh I hear ya. I just thought calling him clueless was a bit over the top. Though I don't get to watch many UB games so you may be right.
Felt very much like the last UGA game. Also up 3 at the half in a defensive battle, and Kelly cannot make in game or halftime adjustments. They run what they run and that's that. I could see after the second three and out that the safeties were creeping up cutting off the underneath routes and ND had success going vertical at the end of the half, but Kelly spends the 3rd quarter trying to establish the run.Proud of the guys tonight but I’m sick of the moral victories. The offensive game plan was absolute garbage and Long and Kelly should be roasted for it.
Georgia played a heck of a game. Tip of the cap.
Yeah, the only wayMan, UCLA should go for 2 every time because that's the only way they can make up the 3 point difference.
