*** 2021/22 Stanley Cup NHL Thread **** Congrats 2022 Avs Cup Champs! (1 Viewer)

So Brendan Gallagher is now out for the Canadiens as well so the Habs are going to play 11 forwards and 5 defenseman today in Sunrise.

@ToddFuhrman: The NHL is cancelling games citing revenue concerns in Canadian cities with healthy and available rosters but is making Montreal play at Florida today with a low level AHL roster

What the hell are we doing here?

I just read the MTL wanted to play.

Good luck tonight Brasky (and other MN fans). I won’t complain about a STL win, but I also wouldn’t mind seeing you guys get to celebrate a fun and festive outdoor win. Sorry you seem to have so many injuries and haven’t played in like a month. Still, I think you will see some motivated players. Enjoy!

Looks like about 20 after according to the countdown on the pre game.
Thank you sir.

A couple of boys on my sons hockey team got tickets to this game from their parents for Christmas. They drove up from KC yesterday. Wish they had a better day but they were excited to be there.

A lot of people here in KC root for The Blues.

Nice to have Shesterkin back.  He's been rock solid lately.  Seems to always smother the shots from in close.  NYR having him follow up Hank is fantastic.  I hope he has Hank's longevity.

@FlyersPuckSauce: Ducks have some covid ripping through the team right now. Practice for today was cancelled.

Flyers play the Ducks tomorrow night.....maybe.

Speaking of Covid ripping

@jasonmyrt: Giroux and Provorov both head to the Covid Protocol list. That will end Provorov’s consecutive games played streak since he first debuted in the NHL. ####ty way for that streak to end after 403 games.

Blues fans really brought it, couldn't believe how many made the trip for the cold.  impressive.

interesting but the talk may be moot since Halak has a no trade.

@DarrenDreger: This is interesting. We discussed a bit on the show, so I poked around a bit. I believe the Canucks would consider trading Halak, mostly because Demko is likely to play a lot and the return should be decent for Jaro.  The bonus $ likely part of the equation, but not main reason. https://twitter.com/mattsekeres/status/1478832439682158593

@JameyBaskow: As of right now the Flyers/Pitt game is still on. Here is the Covid/injury report for the Flyers:

Covid List:

Claude Giroux

Travis Konecny

Travis Sanheim

Ivan Provorov

Jackson Cates

Nick Seeler

Injuries:

Coots

Ellis

Brassard

Thompson

The Flyers have 10 players out

Ahh, that's a shame.  ;)

Montreal Canadiens: Artturi Lehkonen (Dec. 18), Laurent Dauphin (Dec. 19), Mike Hoffman (Dec. 20), Tyler Toffoli (Dec. 27), Jake Allen (Dec. 27), Ben Chiarot (Dec. 27), Joel Edmundson (Dec. 27), Jeff Petry (Dec. 27), Chris Wideman (Dec. 27), goalie coach Eric Raymond (Dec. 27), Paul Byron (Dec. 29), Cayden Primeau (Dec. 29), Louie Belpedio (Dec. 30), Gianni Fairbrother (Dec. 30), Brandon Baddock (Dec. 31), Jake Evans (Jan. 1), Alexander Romanov (Jan. 1), Rafaël Harvey-Pinard (Jan. 4), Jesse Ylönen (Jan. 4), David Savard (Jan. 4), Samuel Montembeault (Jan. 4), Trevor Letowski (assistant coach, Jan. 4), Cameron Hillis (Jan. 5), Michael Pezzetta (Jan. 5)

That's the covid list. Never mind the injuries.

That said, Montreal probably wants to lose so playing as an AHL team is not the worst thing for them.

Problem for the Flyers is their AHL team was so shorthanded last night they started 9F and 8 D.  And 2 of those will be called up today.

Who the hell is this Frederic guy for Boston? May have just ended Kaprizov's season after earlier ripping off Zuccarello's helmet while both players being held by the ref.

Someone should break his legs. And I'm sure the league will do nothing, because they never do.
