2021 Buffalo Bills - Same as it ever was*** (1 Viewer)

Has anyone here had season tickets in the upper bowl? Wondering what the experience is like and if it is worth it versus shelling out online for fewer games below.

I personally don't like the upper bowl unless you get sidelines top 5-10 rows. I used to sit lower corner end zone row 4 but didn't like it.

I'm now in 242 row, one and love it. Price and seat view works for us.

Ugh. So apparently Matt Cassel was absolutely brutal today. And hasn't been all that great in the other OTAs either.

Almost have to hope that there's something to this Tyrod Taylor kid.

Of course WGR - Sal is being Mr. It wasn't that bad'

I go in like spurts of whose the worst.

I really think Bulldog offers nothing but studdering takes that don't amount to anything. I actually like Schopp the most his gimmick gets old sometimes but I understand it's radio. Jeremy White may be my least favorite because he loves everything as well.

Matthew in the morning kinda sucks too, seems like a virgin who studies numbers. His face-off's don't matter take made me lose all respect.

Rant over sorry -

The Bills guys I trust most on Twitter are Joe Buscaglia, Matthew Fairburn and the guys at BuffaloRumblings. They seem to all just pretty much tell it like it is.

I do like Sal, especially when he breaks down plays and game plans, but he definitely has some bias that is enhanced by his doing a show with players.

Why is it news or surprising that the Bills are glaringly weak at QB? That's been pretty obvious to everybody for the past 9 months or so.
Because in shorts and 7 on 7 - you normally hear that everyone is good even the QB's - In training camp and practices in pads I'm used to hearing they suck.

We're in the 2nd row of section 308. The seats are great. You can see everything and the price is good with me. We'd like to move closer to the 50 yd line eventually but not willing to go much higher than 5th row. I think as long as you're on the sidelines and in the first 10-15 rows you'll be fine.

Great thanks. I pulled the trigger on section 310, row 9. Popped my season ticket cherry!

From Vic Carruci's mailbag today:

From what Ive heard from the current Bills coaching staff, Manuel has gotten minimal technical/mechanical guidance since arriving in Buffalo as a first-round draft pick. The opinion of the current coaches is that he pretty much has been on his own the past two years in developing his game. And that has been reflected in his performance through offseason workouts.
Oof. Manuel really did get screwed.

Lets draft a kid in the first round who everyone agrees is a project, then give him to an unproven power mad coach with zero track record of developing talent and see what happens.

What? That is not a good plan?? Quick....check to see who else retired at QB in the off season!

How can this happen at the professional level?

There's been lots of discussion about the lack of developmental coaching, including on the Audible, if I'm not mistaken. Especially with the limited offseason work, coaches just don't have the time to work on players because they are primarily focused on figuring out who their lineup will be and on the next game they play. Is it short sighted? Absolutely? But from their standpoint, why should they spend the time working on someone when they might not even have a job in another year or two.

That said, with no salary cap on coaches, I'm actually surprised that teams don't have specific developmental personnel. Obviously not all teams can afford unlimited funds, but having a techniques guy just makes a lot of sense from a business development standpoint.

Corey Graham moves from CB to Safety. Feels like a mistake, but what do I know.
Who's starting opposite Gilmore? McKelvin? Urg. Can Roby do it? He had promise as a nickel back...
Until McMelvin gets hurt around Week 6. Roby was on the radio today loves the scheme, and how often they'll use him hiding behind Mario/Hughes to blitz.

Darby hopefully earns more snaps as the season progresses into November/December.

Interesting article on how the demand for Bills tickets has spiked, and how that's showing up in secondary market prices.

I've already got my tickets for the Colts game, and I can confirm that they went for a little over four times the face value, but this is a once-in-a-lifetime father/son trip, so I shelled out for endzone row 1 with zero regrets. I'm really glad to see the fan base so fired up after so much time in the wilderness. The atmosphere for week 1 is going to be a lot like last year's Dolphins game, after the sale of the team went through.

I think it exceeds that and that was loud. Loudest I've been was Dallas MNF game awhile back. I've only had seasons for 11 years now.

It's always special when the home opener is, opening weekend!

I've seen numerous tidbits like this over the last 6 months. It's so frustrating to think that Marrone may have really screwed up Manuel. Manuel was a project and it appears that not only did Marrone and company not do anything to help him develop, but actively hindered his development.

@SharpFootball: The more I've looked into the EJ Manuel / Doug Marrone relationship, the more concerning it becomes. Marrone really did a number there.

Nice.

I had seasons from 2003-2009, sections 312 and 332, ~25th row.

Got back in this year but late in the game, 30th row, I can't remember the section. The prices go down once you hit the 20th row.

FWIW, I almost always sit in the nosebleeds, 20th row and up, and have never had a problem. If you're not in the corner it's a great view no matter where you sit.

Coincidentally, that's also the worst game I've ever been to.
My worst was the December Sunday night game vs NE where we lost like 55-10 or something crazy. Was very cold.

Favorite's over the last 10 years for me.

NE win in September

The Raiders game

Enjoyed the Vikings and Packers games last year.

Went to the Lions game as well last year.

Not many good one's over the past 10 years that stick out.

I was at that Sunday night game against NE, that was the game with Kevin Everett on the jumbotron to get everyone pumped up, and then Randy Moss scored 4 TDs in the first half. I think we left at the beginning of the 4th. The actual worst football game I've ever seen was probably SF 10, Bills 3 in 2008. Just a dreadful game all around.

I think the loudest I've ever heard the stadium during a game was either:

(1) Bills 24, Redskins 7 on 10/19/2003 - Bills up 17 and rolling, early 4th, Schobel knocks Patrick Ramsey out of the game, and Rob Johnson comes into the game on 2nd down. Crowd goes insane, he completes a short pass and then gets sacked on 3rd down and the crowd explodes. Redskins ended up getting the ball back twice with Johnson at QB and went 3-and-out both times, Bills cruised to the win.

(2) Bills 38, Dolphins 21 on 12/1/2002 - Ricky Williams runs for 200+ yards in a back-and-forth game but the Bills pull away at the end. First half is cold, 25 degrees but uneventful. Snow starts in the 3rd quarter and the entire 4th quarter was basically a whiteout as the Dolphins tried to stage a comeback. I remember from our seats you could see the water tower (people with seats in the 300s know what I'm talking about), and you could see the entire wall of snow advancing during the second half to where the water tower was invisible. I could barely see the field during the 4th. The crowd was unbelievable in that one. Nothing compares to Dolphins games.

Ugh. Looks like the Bills will be getting a new OL coach soon. Current OL coach Aaron Kromer was arrested in Florida for battery with intent to cause harm. He is alleged to have pushed down and punched in the face the juvenile son of a neighbor over an argument over beach chairs. He then is alleged to have told the boys that he would kill their entire family if they told anyone what had happened.

Classy.

Should probably trade Shady for Peterson now. He'll jive well with this POS' blocking schemes.

Let me get this straight. You punch a kid in the face and threaten to kill his entire family, and you end up looking like the bad guy in this situation? Did we lose a war or something?

I blame Rex. Bully culture....

Dolphins game was awesome indeed, snowballs being thrown around and "Let it Snow" playing; the drive home was crappy though!

FWiW, Duke claims that she edited the exchange and that the full conversation involved him inviting her to some event that he invited a bunch of people to. Although, if he didn't know her at all, still seems pretty pathetic. But honestly, who cares? You guys don't think athletes and other famous guys aren't constantly hitting up famous women? And if he DM'd her, she was obviously following him, so maybe he thought that meant she had interest.

That particular story is beyond lame to me. The Kromer thing is 100x bigger.

And speaking of Kromer, the Bills put him on indefinite paid administrative leave today. Smart move. Let the process play out a bit more and determine if the allegations are true or not while laying the groundwork to fire him with cause.

ETA: The Bills never should have hired the guy to begin with. That whole thing with him selling out Cutler to the media was a total garbage move and I definitely don't want that guy associated with the Bills now.

Agreed. The Duke Williams thing is just a funny little off-season story. No big deal.

With the money Justin Houston just got, Whaley should be given a ton of credit for getting Hughes as cheaply as they did. Houston is better statistically, but Hughes goes up against the LT about 10 times as often as Houston and is getting half of what Houston just signed for.
