I would like to see Joe Webb get a start.Anyone else notice that Tyrod Taylor had a worse passer rating than Joe Webb in this game?

I actually really liked what I saw of Peterman today... Very decisive. A couple times he was a little too aggressive, but I'd hope some experience would teach him the difference between good aggressive passes and bad ones.I would like to see Joe Webb get a start.
Peterman is aggressive, that's for sure. My issue with it is that he fires the ball too quickly. He needs to slow things down, which I would imagine is easier to teach than to teach someone to be aggressive. That's one of those things where either you have it or you don't.If we can mind meld the two QBs we just might have something. So frustrating to watch one guy be too tentative and the other guy just throws it to see what happens.
He's on my fantasy team, so lets hope not.It sure would be a shame if Gronkowski suffered a season-ending knee injury in our Christmas eve game against New England.
Huh? Lawson is a 2nd year guy, why would they get rid of him? It costs $2.8M to keep him and $6M to cut or trade him.and there goes Jordan Matthews and Shaq Lawson to IR. I would be surprised if either are back next year.
Why would they get rid of most of the guys they dumped? They got rid of Jonathan Williams for Mike Tolbert. That move didn't make a lick of sense to me. It seems that they were just getting rid of anybody that ended up on the team under Whaley's watch. The DL got very little QB pressure this season, so at the very least Lawson wouldn't be starting next year.Huh? Lawson is a 2nd year guy, why would they get rid of him? I do think it's valid to begin questioning whether Shaq Lawson will ever pan out and turn into the dominant lineman that the Bills hoped they were getting in the 2016 draft, but I surely don't expect them to get rid of him. I've been impressed - at times - with his run-stopping ability, but he's seemingly invisible against the pass. I wouldn't mind them bringing someone in to challenge him for a starting spot, but I feel that way about every position on the roster. Teams should always be looking to get better at every position, and it should be a constant competition for playing time, IMO.Tommy Collins said:Why would they get rid of most of the guys they dumped? Take this with a grain of salt, but during last night's game they said the Bills are in the 6th spot, but if Baltimore wins out they would get it. Not sure how that works... Maybe some sort of strength of schedule tie breaker. So as of right now, who has the 6th Wildcard spot?
Maybe they just assume there is a 100% chance of the Bills losing to the Pats. That would be logical.Take this with a grain of salt, but during last night's game they said the Bills are in the 6th spot, but if Baltimore wins out they would get it. Not sure how that works... I read someplace that it winning out would give Baltimore a better record against common opponents. Not that they play the same position, but has anyone else noticed just how good Reggie Ragland has been for KC?I do think it's valid to begin questioning whether Shaq Lawson will ever pan out and turn into the dominant lineman that the Bills hoped they were getting in the 2016 draft, but I surely don't expect them to get rid of him. Yes, I have noticed that. Not that they play the same position, but has anyone else noticed just how good Reggie Ragland has been for KC?
Yeah, but I'm ok with not having Goodwin. With his frame and history of injuries, they were right to move on.Yes, I have noticed that.
Have you also noticed:
Marquise Goodwin: 41/783
Top two WRs for the Bills combined: 45/591 (Deonte Thompson, Zay Jones)
:(
I can't imagine he got paid all that much, and they sure could use a deep threat on this offense...Yeah, but I'm ok with not having Goodwin. With his frame and history of injuries, they were right to move on.
Of course, they've still managed to endure a ton of injuries at the WR position. Some is bad luck, but it just seems like there's gotta be something they're doing wrong either with strength and conditioning or team doctors or something.
If the Jags beat the Titans, and the Bills finish 9-7, they have a 82-92% chance of making the playoffs?
- Jags at Titans - week 17
- Any 1 of these 3 road teams winning immediately jumps a 9-7 Bills team into the 82-92% chance range
Right now AccuWeather says 37 with clouds & sunshine. Not bad, although it's still been snowing like crazy here since Sunday. I'd imagine the field will be MUCH better than this last game, but the Bills should have an advantage if there's any accumulation since they played in that blizzard.Magic_Man said:How's the weather supposed to be for the game?
I'm not as high as most for the playoffs. So for me I'm all about getting the best draft picks from here on out. And the Chiefs not making the playoffs is what I'm hoping for.Who are we rooting for tonight?
Imitating Gronk's flying elbow. Not sure what to make of this

All I see is a million responses to something. Is there actual video or a news story of something? Not sure what to make of this

Nevermind. I just realized I had to click the 'view' link in the disclaimer...All I see is a million responses to something. Is there actual video or a news story of something?
Unfortunately, the Ravens & Chargers winning out and the Titans losing out is a very real possibility:Yeah there is a legit chance if they can beat Miami
If Bills go 1-1 the most likely scenario where they end up out is:
Ravens and Chargers win both. Titans lose both. That puts them head to head with only the Chargers. I think they are fine at 9-7 as long as there are multiple teams tied with them.
I think Chargers and Ravens have the potential to lose 1 of their remaining 2 games. The Titans losing their next 2 is got to be a damn near certainty, unless the Jags rest their starters Week 17.Unfortunately, the Ravens & Chargers winning out and the Titans losing out is a very real possibility:
Chargers - @ Jets, vs Raiders
Ravens - vs Colts, vs Bengals
Titans - vs Rams, vs Jaguars
I think their best shot is Raiders beating Chargers and Titans beating Jaguars because the Jags may have nothing to play for that last week? I could also see the Bengals beating the Ravens, maybe.
I figure it helps you forget about the pain of being a fan of this franchise.I really don't get the diving through tables thing.

I've often disagreed with you on officiating discussions, but I agree 100% here. This was one where the fix certainly seemed to be in. (Note: I don't think the league is rigged, but you wouldn't be able to know that from watching Sunday's game). The Bills have so many reasons to blame themselves for Sunday's loss, but that KB call was just plain atrocious. And then you have the overturned 4th and 1 spot that seemed far from conclusive by video.
And stuff like this is just plain infuriating. That is a personal foul if Brady is at QB 100 times out of 100. He knows the ball is out because he pulls his arms down from trying to bat it down, puts them in a position to hammer Taylor, takes 3 more steps and levels Taylor. Just insane that the Pats seem to always get those calls and the Bills never do.
It's been awful all season. That KB overturned TD also looked like DPI by Gilmore but there was no flag on that. The Clay "drop" before that play would have been a TD prior to the NFL destroying what is considered to be a catch.GroveDiesel said:The Bills have so many reasons to blame themselves for Sunday's loss, but that KB call was just plain atrocious. I know the Tyrod topic has been beaten to death, but he's really nothing more than a great backup. I get that some fans love him. I like him in every way, except as a starting QB. He makes plays that other QB's don't make, but all too often he still misses the mark, by a lot. In the three seasons he's been in Buffalo, I've not seen any improvement. He's the same guy today that he was when he signed. I understand that he hasn't necessarily had the best all around supporting cast, but the great ones don't let that stop them from being great.Aside from these shenanigans, I thought Tyrod looked awful again. He took several sacks that no non-rookie QB should be taking. Each time he tried to spin backward to avoid the pressure I expected him to go down for 10 or more yards. He made some good plays here and there, but games like this just solidify my stance on Tyrod even more. He seems like a great guy but he just can't/won't make the throws that we need him to make. I always wondered why he signed the team friendly deal he did this off-season. As this season goes on I think that it had more to do with other teams not being as interested in him as what was believed.
I hope good Tyrod shows up in Week 17. He's like a unicorn.
I think he's actually a decent starting QB. The problem is, to consistently be a favorite to win each week and to consistently be a contender, you have to have a great QB, not a decent one.I know the Tyrod topic has been beaten to death, but he's really nothing more than a great backup. I just can't fathom having him again next year. He's so frustrating to watch. When is the last time a QB that was afraid to make tight throws won anything of significance? He still has the college QB mentality in that he won't make the throw if the guy isn't wide open. He's often late on making the decision to throw the ball, so when there is 2 steps on the defender the gap has closed by the time Taylor gets the ball there. We have seen games where things just looked great (Seattle in 2016 for instance) but those are very rare occurrences.I think he's actually a decent starting QB. In a semi-related note, I really am more and more befuddled by how ProFootballFocus does their ratings/rankings. They have the Bills O-line ranked either 1st or 2nd right now for pass blocking. They also have Tyrod Taylor rated 11th as a QB. Neither one of those make much sense to me.
Both Taylor and Peterman were under a ton of pressure all season. That's either due to the O-line getting routinely beaten, or due to the QB bailing out too soon/holding the ball too long. But it's got to be one of them. And if it is, then there's no way that both the O-line can be rated so high for pass blocking and Taylor being rated so high as a QB.
And there's just no way they're incorporating all of the open receivers that Taylor misses and holds onto the ball.
I 100% agree. They need a better QB. It's more a commentary on QB play in general. He's not terrible, but he's not good enough to consistently score points and put pressure on the opponent. And heaven forbid they fall down by 7+. I'd rather them take some risks looking for a better QB than stick with average any longer. But you gotta take some chances and start drafting QBs in the first 2 rounds.I just can't fathom having him again next year. He's so frustrating to watch. Either that or the Chargers and Titans (and Bills) lose, right? Those are the only two possibilities...So who wants to make predictions about tomorrow? My money is on the defense being unable to come up with a key stop, with Miami getting the win (and their first lead of the game) with under a minute to go. And Baltimore losing to Cincinnati, because Bills.
