2021 Buffalo Bills - Same as it ever was*** (2 Viewers)

Of the four games next weekend, I like the Bills chances the best of any of the road teams.

Such a strange year to break the streak - traded the stud WR, traded the run stuffer, forfeited a game starting an unprepared rookie QB, and went into the last weekend with the weakest chances. Got boat raced by the Jets, jobbed by the refs over and over, then BOOM!

That was such an improbably play, what a great way to end the futility.

So much depends on how well McCoy's ankle responds.  Bills got a little break they play on Sunday instead of Saturday
No doubt, but it looks hopeful. I don't [know] the Bills players well enough to know which one was McCou but didn't he walk off the plane on his own in that video? Heard the fans chanting "Shay-DEE Shay-DEE" but couldn't tell which one was him. Anyway, have to check the practice reports. Obviously they need him but Marcus Murphy did look good v. the Fins.

If McCoy doesn't play, no.

If he makes it back, it could be good.
I'm not afraid of Bortles. The pass defense is something that is gruesome, and having a QB that won't make a throw unless the WR is WIDE open isn't going to be pretty against them. Our only hope is the ground game. And I hope to god we haven't waited all this time to make the playoffs only to have to watch a Mike Tolbert-led rushing attack. Lets get Karlos Williams back here pronto

24 hours later, I'm pretty confident that Dalton-to-Boyd is my the single most exciting play ever to occur in any game for me personally in my lifetime.  I can't even conceive of what #2 would be.  I guess the go-ahead TD to Reed in the Oilers game, but that game had so many huge plays, while this one had one that in the course of seven seconds or so swung everything from basically hopeless to ecstasy.  As much as I rolled my eyes and hated it when the Ravens came back to take the lead, I'm grateful that it played out that way.  I'm sure I'll go back and re-watch Sunday's game and the ensuing Bal-Cin coverage several times in the next few months.
You know, I didn't even think about that. I'm barely old enough to actually remember the Super Bowls (35). I think the most exciting play I'd ever seen up to Sunday night might've been Sam Adams returning that interception for a TD against Brady the year they poached Milloy from the defending SB champion Patriots. My heart literally sank when I saw that Baltimore took the lead and Cincinatti was starting from their own 10 yd line, and a FG would only tie the game. I still cannot believe they scored a 49 yd TD on 4th & 12...to send the Bills to the playoffs. Holy ####...

When the Bills made the playoffs in '99 I was a 17 yo senior in high school. That means for my entire adult life the Bills had not made the playoffs until now. Yeah, it would've been fun to enjoy good Bills teams while in college and during my single mid to late 20's, but this moment was nothing short of amazing...unbelievable...miraculous.

Fellow Bills fans can understand, we're always (cautiously) optimistic, and I think over the past 5 years a lot of people became totally pessimistic. I totally get that, as for the most part this team has showed no capability of making the postseason. Even when they were close (2004) they broke our hearts the only way we knew they could. However, maybe Buffalo's luck has changed. How many times this season did you say to yourself "Wow, Buffalo usually doesn't get those calls." or "Huh, that actually went the Bills way." Let's face it, a lot of us were thinking about the possibility of the Bills winning and either the Ravens winning or one of the Titans or Chargers winning as well, or the Bills losing and then the Ravens or both the Titans and Chargers losing. Come on, you know you did. But...that didn't happen. Things FINALLY went our way. Luck was in our corner. The wait is over. GO BILLS!

I've been been contemplating what Bills jersey to buy for the next time I go to a game for several years... My latest couple didn't pan out so well... Clements, Beast mode, and Sammy (for the kiddo). I've been leaning toward a classic (Bruce, Thurman, etc.) just because then I won't have to worry about the player being gone in a year or two, but now I'm half tempted to order a custom #14 Andy Dalton Bills jersey... That could be a timeless one, too.

I'm in this position as well. My last few jerseys were Donte Whitner, Marshawn Lynch, CJ Spiller, Stevie Johnson, EJ Manuel, Tyrod Taylor. I had planned to buy a Sammy Watkins one at the beginning of this season. I don't think any Bills fan that buys a jersey does so expecting the guy to be there in a few years. It's unfortunate.

I was thinking of getting a Fred Jackson or Kyle Williams jersey. Guys who played in this era that epitomized what being a Buffalo Bill is all about.

I'll be there.  Hotel booked weeks ago to all possible locations dirt cheap.  Got a flight at like 8:30pm after the game and jumped on tickets right away.  The section, I bought is now 3x the amount I paid.  Taking over Jacksonville.  Follow us on @pintotailgate on twitter if you are going for locations Saturday and Sunday.

Awesome! How much was the flight if you don't mind me asking? I was looking at them myself out of curiosity but it was a few hours after the game and the cheapest I found was $400+

I ended up getting it from Buffalo to Jacksonville at a solid time  5pm Friday and home by 2pm Monday for $410.  I'm from Buffalo though and wanted a flight full of Bills fans, and didn't want to burn a full day of vacation Friday in addition to Monday.  Our hotel ended up being 0.3 miles from the stadium dirt cheap.  The game ticket was $200 (I waited the longest on this one, and cost myself about $80 bucks here, but glad I didn't wait any longer as it's tripled)

My buddy is from Erie, PA - We had the option of flying out of Pittsburgh Friday morning for $175 and passed.  I'd drive 1.5 hours to him and them him 2.5 hours to Pitt.  I looked today and flights are either gone or $600-800 out of Buffalo.

We booked a hotel for New England just in case and have tickets lined up if need be.  6.5 hour drive and wouldn't have to take Monday off (MLK)

It's a fun time. I'll be a big part of the Bills backers party down there.  I'm looking forward to it.

No, but I'll be in NYC getting my first McFadden's experience there. The trip was planned, the visit to McFadden's obviously wasn't but is definitely a nice bonus.

I honestly don't think I'll ever buy a jersey again unless it's a guaranteed Wall of Famer. The only one I currently have is Freddy's and I've only worn it once since the team let him go. When he came back to lead the charge against Miami. Buying a jersey of a current player that isn't a "tried and true Buffalo Bill" for years just isn't worth it, at all. The free agency era pretty much ruined that novelty.

I just checked again and I'm looking at $750-850 for flight and (decent) hotel for Sat/Sun night. That seems to be up about $100-150 from when I checked Monday morning. Got the OK (not that I really needed it) from the wife last night, then the furnace went out and I had to drop $900 on that today... Ahh... Let me check ticket prices again...

Man, I never would have guessed tickets to a playoff game in Jacksonville would be $300-ish for cheap seats...

Just out of curiosity, anyone know what section(s) are reserved for Bills season ticket holders?

That alone could be really fun. I flew down to NO a few years ago, and it happened to be when Wrestlemania was going on in NO, and the flight had a ton of wrestling fans, and they were chanting, etc. I'm not into wrestling, but that flight, and the trip as a whole was pretty fun to listen to all the wrestling fans.

I saw on Twitter that allegedly 20% of the tickets for this game were purchased by people with NY zip codes.  Let's face it.  Jacksonville doesn't really have a fan base, whereas the Bills travel extremely well.

I can't be there, but I did kick into Andy Dalton's Foundation because that's a cool story and why not.  And besides, I'm only a few hours from Minneapolis, so if we play a game there in a few weeks maybe I can make it over there.

I believe they were right around $100ish before the Bills clinched. The prices almost immediately started shooting up as soon as the Bills clinched.

Well, unless the Bengals trade him to the Bills (which they can this offseason with little cap hit...)

GO GO GO GO GO GO!

I feel a little bad for Tyler Boyd.  I feel like he’s the real hero in this as he’s the one that made an incredible run after the catch, yet he’s not getting any attention at all.  The attention (and donations) are going to Dalton, and he made a good throw, but I think Boyd’s run after the catch was what gave us that win.

Thought of that myself. Did hear on WGR this morning that Boyd tweeted something about a charity for outfitting a youth football team.  Had a goal of $25K & was at $37K.

I agree. Dalton nearly threw 3 INTs on that drive but he's made out to be a hero lol

Yeah, but Dalton's the QB and household name.  Agreed entirely on Boyd's excellent RAC.

QBs always get credit for the achievements of everyone else.  Look no further than how MVP awards are handed out.

No surprise it happens here too.

Wasn't able to pull it off. After looking more closely at flights Wednesday, they all left too early (can't get out of work early today), or too late (Sat night, arrive Sun morning - no tailgating festivities).

So jealous of those of you that are going... It should be an experience you'll remember forever.

Bills fans have already drank two Jacksonville bars out of beer. The first one was out of beer hours before the official party even started and had so many people the police showed up and created a spot in the parking lot for the overflow to hang out at.

There may be almost as many Bills fans at the game tomorrow as Jags fans.

Or the 500 Bills fans drink A LOT :)

I'm really looking forward to seeing/hearing the Bills fans tomorrow. Those there will be chanting "HEY-ey-EY-ey" all morning, and through the game.
