2023 Off-season IDP Dynasty stashes (1 Viewer)

I’m typically a follower of this Forum, but figured I’d kick this off (unless i missed it in another thread). This is one of the most valuable threads I’ve found all year long. Stashes are as much lottery tickets for next year as much as anything else, but it takes into account possible UFA and draft impact. I’ll start by team with one IDP that I’m targeting/interested in and please poke holes or give alternatives if you think I’m off the mark; some would argue that a couple of these may have already broken out or are “no-brainers” but it gets the conversation going.

Arizona -
Atlanta -
Baltimore - Kyle Hamilton (S)
Buffalo - Tyrel Dodson (LB)/Dean Marlowe (S) *Edmunds and Poyer FA
Chi - Jack Sanborn (LB) *keeps the role
Cincy - Dax Hill (S)/Cam Sample (DE) *Bell and Bates FA
Cleveland - Chase Winovich (DE) * I’ve about given up on Alex Wright which means you should all target him
Dal - Damone Clark (LB) *LVE FA
Den - Jonas Griffith (LB)/Caden Sterns (S)
Det - Derrick Barnes (LB)/Joseph Kerby (S)
GBP - D Wyatt
Hou - Christian Harris (LB)
Ind - Nick Cross (S)
Jax - Chad Muma (LB) *needs a path to full time
KCC - Bryan Cook (S)
LAC - Alohi Gilman (S)
LAR - Earnest Jones (LB) *if he counts as a stash
LVR - Harvey Langi (LB) *Dart throw based on couple good games and not much to choose from
Miami - Channing Tindall (LB)
New England - Marcus Jones (CB/PR/WR)
NYG - Dane Belton (S)
NYJ - Michael Clemons (DE)
Phila - Dean (LB)
Pitts - Robert Spillane (LB)

TB - KJ Britt (LB) *David is FA
Tenn - Monty Rice (LB)
Wash - Efe Obada (DE) *tough one. 5 of their front 7 are 1st rounders and Kurl/Forrest are already good

Already stashed Sanborn & Rice, but I'd also like to stash the following LBs heading into next year...

Det - Malcolm Rodriguez (Hard Knocks favorite; Anzalone is a FA, but well liked by Dan Campbell)
LVR - Luke Masterson (Undrafted Rookie played well when forced into action for the last quarter of the season)
Min - Brian Asamoah (Promising 3rd round pick this year; Hicks is 30 years old and began sharing snaps with Asamoah)
NO - Kaden Elliss (FA, but he performed very well when Werner got injured; Demario Davis is also 34 years old)
NYG - Micah McFadden (5th round pick this year and began to get more playing time as the season went on)
NYG - Darrian Beavers (6th round pick; lost to ACL this year...He or McFadden both have a shot next year)

Guys I picked up on the last waiver runs before offseason lock or see some contract possibilities for more playing time:

  • Odeyingbo, Dayo IND DE: Came on strong down the stretch, who knows what new coaches will do. Ngakoue and Lewis FAs.
  • Granderson, Carl NOS DE: Davenport looks gone, Jordan is old, Turner didn't really break out - might just be the leftover guy looking to be replaced.
  • Hoecht, Michael LAR/UFA DE: Good stats after Donald went out, I picked him up in case Donald retired - already planning to cut.
  • Okoronkwo, Ogbonnia HOU/UFA DE: Strong finish, just a dart throw - Greenard fits into the same bucket at this point with new coaches. Also a FA.
  • Any DE on Detroit - no idea how those guys shake out and how much they rotate since ~3 were injured at every point this year. Okwaras, Harris, Paschal.
  • I didn't really mention the rookies that stayed on rosters all season, but if Sam Williams or Drake Jackson are available, they're worth a stash.

  • Muma, Chad JAC LB: Surprised to find him on waivers in 2 leagues - worth an offseason stash, but hard to hold a marginal player in season.
  • Bernard, Terrel BUF LB: Edmunds and Dodson are FAs.
  • Elliss, Kaden NOS/UFA LB: Who knows, probably nothing here. Saints are always in cap hell but also have no draft picks, so no idea how things shake out.
  • McFadden, Micah NYG LB (and Beavers): Their LBs stink.
  • Murray, Kenneth LAC LB: Tranquill FA, not sure if he ever breaks out though.
  • All Browns - no idea how they end up under Schwartz. Walker, Takitaki, Jones all FAs.
  • I don't expect to find Deablo, Dean, Rodriguez, Tindall, or Asamoah on waivers, but I also didn't expect to find Muma, so may as well check.
  • Some guys who might get/keep 3 downs are already rostered like Sanborn, Rice, Jack, and M.Walker.

  • Cross, Nick IND S: Maybe the new coaches give him another look.
  • Fuller, Jordan LAR S: Dropped in some leagues, Rapp and Scott FAs - could clear up there, but not sure if he'd be the box guy or deep.
  • Hamlin, Damar BUF S: Before the heart... Poyer (FA) and Hyde are old, Hamlin was useful in FF this season (not sure about real NFL quality).
  • Hill, Daxton CIN S: I assumed he was rostered everywhere, but I see him available in 3 leagues... dang, should have grabbed him. Bell and Bates are both FAs.
  • Joseph, Kerby DET S: Elliott and Harris FAs. Does anyone know what his box percentage was late in the season?

Surprised James Houston isn’t on your radars. 8 sacks in 6 games in very limited role as a rookie 6th rounder. Is it just because he’s an OLB with limited tackle opportunities? Will that change in full time role and increased snap counts? In the Chicago game he actually dropped into coverage so that gives me hope he’s not just a pass rush specialist.

Yeah, he looks great. I'm just in mostly balanced MFL leagues where he's not very useful.

That's a good category, though - current MFL OLBs who could get reclassified or fit into a new category if they change their system. Guys like Houston, Reddick, Hunter, Joey Bosa, Watt, Barrett, Allen, Judon, Highsmith.

Don't forget Za'Darius with Donatell getting canned. Not sure what the Vikes defense will be next year and he get re-classified as a DE

Maybe not a "Stash" in the traditional sense, but Someone I picked up late in the season who had gotten injured and their owner needed the space (we don't use IR) was Cole Holcomb.

Still only 26 and although he had foot surgery in December, the issue is he may or may not re-sign with Wash, so its an end of bench stash for me depending on how things shake out.

I'm in leagues with Lions homers. He disappeared from waivers after the thanksgiving game. In one league - before

All Browns - no idea how they end up under Schwartz. Walker, Takitaki, Jones all FAs.
A lot of great stuff above. Re the Browns - among those 3 if it's any it's Walker. Takitaki isn't gonna be healthy and Jones is toast. If his rehab goes well I hope Takitaki is re-signed - only question is if it's after the comp pick formula deadline, if they wait until after camp, or even week 2 of the regular season. Speaking of rehab, that's what it's all about with Walker. I'm sure his injury will suppress his price enough to stay in the Browns price range, so how's the knee and are there similar healthy alternatives on the open market? Regardless, among these 3 he's the best bet.

Where does Phillips fit?

Unless he does a 180 I think he's a 53 roster cut casualty.

Oh wow - I know Ourlads is no authority, but they show him as a starter (they also show starting lineups as 2-2-3-2-2 rather than any kind of nickle).

I can look past the under whelming play late 2021 as he was trying to return after a torn pec and I'm sure he wasn't at full strength. The abject disaster he was in this year's cameo though? He gotta go. And based on AB's move for Deion Jones (knee jerk traded for him 2 hours after the Chargers ran all over this d) I suspect he agrees.

Well, it was fun while it lasted Sanborn...The Bears landing TJ Edwards and Edmunds certainly kills his value.

Okereke signing with the NYG also hurts McFadden and Beavers.

Anzalone resigned with Detroit, so Rodrigo may be nothing more than a Hard Knocks darling.

Not sure what to expect from Elliss in Atlanta...Probably a rotational player...He's familiar with the system, but there are a lot of young LBs on the Falcons.

Kendricks leaving Minnesota certainly helps Asamoah and D. Long signing with Miami should make Rice a starter in Tennessee.

Right now Christian Rozeboom is the RILB for the Rams with Bobby Wagner departing.

TBH, I had never even heard of the guy.

Drue Tranquill to KC. That thud you heard was his FF value hitting the floor. Probably bad for Willie Gay's value, too. Gay & Tranquill both have contracts that expire after this season.

My guess is Gay is the 2 down run guy and Tranquill is the coverage guy. Bolton will be unchanged.
