2024-25 NBA Thread: Stephen A leading ESPN’s draft coverage by yelling about players he’s never heard of until now (132 Viewers)

KAT was unplayable when things mattered

At least to Thibs

KAT played 28 minutes, scored 20 points, and his +/- was -20. That’s pretty wild.

On the other hand, Tony Bradley played 8 minutes for the Pacers and his +/- was 1.

The Knicks are used to playing long minutes and are well conditioned, but the Pacers are both deep and well conditioned. It definitely seems like the Knicks are running out of steam at the end of the game while the Pacers are finishing strong.

Thibs post game interview. :lmao:

I think he hates all of his players
He should hate his own coaching. His gameplan sucks.
Rolling out Cameron Payne to start the 4th was absurd.

Especially after doing this in the 1st half - https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/iCsRirRJkl
The Suns, who could use a 2nd round pick, gave the Spurs a 2nd rounder and $5.6 million in cash just to dump Cam Payne last year.

KAT overrated. Another guy who will never win a ring. Too inconsistent. Likes beating up on tomato cans.
KAT is properly rated. Everybody knows he is an exceptional offensive player and an exceptionally terrible defender that makes it difficult to be a real championship threat. Maybe one of the best good stats, bad team kind of guys in NBA history.

Hart played under 29 minutes last night.

Early foul trouble was some of that, but he still should have played more later in the game.

Thibs is an odd coach

KAT wouldn't even be an All NBA player except the lack of centers.

KAT can win a ring, just not as the number two on a team. He would be a phenomenonal third beet player on a championship team.

There are only a handful of players that are consistently great game after game and season after season.

The another guy that will never win a ring is a lazy argument as well.

It's not lazy. He's paid above his actual performance which checks both boxes of being overrated and never winning a championship.

A big proponent of Tom Brady's success was taking team friendly deals. The point is there will always be a team willing to offer KAT the supermax which he is not worth. Ergo you lose the opportunity to use that money on players to build a more balanced roster.

It's a team sport and the reason all these super teams keep failing. The talent pool has gotten so deep internationally, that paying 2-3 guys these insane contract sinks the boat.

Look how far those Suns and Bucks super teams did this season. Let alone the Nets from a few years back.

If KAT were to play for less, he could find himself in a winning situation. He's trapped by money and as someone who also loves money, I don't blame him. Life goes on beyond basketball.

You don't follow the NBA very closely. Compare basketball to hockey next.

There's a trademark on that shtick, sister.

If nobody is making the claim, which I have seen many (maybe not in here) but it's been abundant, but anywho, if nobody is saying a specific thing then why was there a need to defend against it all?
There isn't a need. Why does anyone here need to defend some clickbait hot take you heard once?

If, when hearing that bad take, everyone has just said, "uh ok, lol", THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE END OF IT.

You think penning your grad school thesis on the subject is the best way to make it go away? It's not.

Game isn’t over obviously, but a 35 point lead?? It seems like there have been a lot of big leads and blowouts this playoffs. Is it just recency bias or real?
