2024-25 NBA Thread: Stephen A leading ESPN’s draft coverage by yelling about players he’s never heard of until now (43 Viewers)

Can we talk about the Knicks' HC's hair? Does he not have a wife or friends?
Dude's been channeling a garden gnome for a decade now. No need to change it up now.

Can he not see it on the jumbo screen? I would be aghast if that's what my hair looked like on TV. It's sad. How do you respect a man who rocks that hair? It's Mark Davis level bad.
I respect that he does not give a **** that much.

I glad the Pacer fans are happy, but it is all for nothing we were told by someoone in this thread that the Pacers can't make the finals after game 3.

Eminence just can't help himself.
:scream: is that dude back? I suppose he's probably never been gone and I've just done a poor job of recognizing the next-name-up and/or alias. :oldunsure:

I'm fairly certain it's him. There was another alias of his that met a similar fate, disappeared for a while, now back as this alias. The posting styles are identical and the hinges come off too quickly for it not to be. The defensiveness with a very surface level depth of computation is the dead giveaway.

It has been a long time and you would think he would have grown up a little during that time.

Ehhhhhhh.......some guys never grow up and can't help themselves.

Let's dig in: SHH is an alias, right? Newly created username? Am I wrong thus far?

Dips the toe in slowly, makes a few posts, gets the attention they were missing and craving.

Engages in a little back and forth to feel the waters out in threads comfortable to him.....NBA, stocks, gambling.

Things go sideways, posts become a little weird, almost like a person who might be struggling with mental illness.

Becomes argumentative and shows even more symptoms of losing a mental grasp.

Doubles down on bad takes? Celebrates a little too much on any wins? Asks who followed the great advice?

SHH is Eminence
What was the name of that guy who could draw really well but had a knack of derailing threads regularly? Maybe with some suicidal ideations?

Went by MCGasMoney, BlueMagic, Dr. Zoidberg, etc.

Haliburton, 20-9-10. Gotta be top 5 halves in playoff history.

I like him, but @Frostillicus will take me to task for saying so.
What? I love Haliburton.

Kind of mean to me about it in here earlier. Elephants and men shaped like them don't forget.
You just made it very clear you loved Haliburton so I was pointing that out! Not mean! Never mean!

Starting to look like I need to start researching what sports bar I should go to in Indy next Thursday night. Or... hmm... wonder if they'll have one of those outdoor "watch parties".

Gonna be in Indy for work the night the Finals kick off.

I'm still not over the Nuggets Adelman's hair. Who talked a balding young man into straight bangs on that egg?

He's still young enough for an intervention. Knicks coach no way. He's toast.

I think it’s actually looked slightly better this year. Not sure if he got just a little bit of minoxidil or figured out how to style what little he has, but at least now the wisps on the front of his head are all organized and almost fool you into thinking he has something if you just look for a second

I can’t watch this, so turning it off already.

The Wolves just do offensively exactly what the Thunder want them to, and accept that. Nothing to get ANT going, players passing to Gobert when he’s running into the front court because they’re being pressured by a Thunder player, etc. We badly need a competent point who can control things on the court since Finch is a below-average in-game strategist.

Welp, nice two year stetch, although both went out with a whimper I didn't care for. Can't wait to see what Connelly has in store for us this offseason.

Little Woz is literally tearing up.

Worked hard today to get home to watch within without distractions. He just asked me if he can watch a show on his iPad. This sucks.

Bro Minnesota has 14 points scored in 15 minutes played, you're not missing much. 😁

Dude it is his like 9 year old son.

I'm a bad guy for trying to make him feel better that he isn't missing a very good game?
I’m watching the game. With my son. Who loves the Timberwolves. And it’s easily one of our top two things to do together. So I busted *** to finish work and rushed home to get there first the tipoff.

And the Wolves are getting killed which had him tearing up.

Just turned on the game and my wife goes “oh wow I like those Minnesota jerseys” :lmao: I said they don’t look like they were designed in Microsoft word to you? She loves them.

The point is he is a kid and this probably means everything to him. Telling him that he isn't missing much isn't helping.

Eminence, go away again. The place was better off without you.

So if the Pacers dispatch the Knickerbockers tomorrow, the Association won't begin the Finals until June 5th? North Korea will have 8 days between games and fans go through more than two MONTHS of playoffs. Absurd. And 3 days between games for the finals? So 3 more weeks and shirt combos until the Supersonics get their 2nd title.

Play-in games and the Fly Emirates Cup, yay.

Thunder seem good.
Best defense since... 08 Celtics? 04 Pistons?
They're pretty incredible. Since I watch all the Wolves games what they really reminded me of was last year's Wolves team but a fully optimized version. Like a Pokemon evolution or whatever. Super athletic, tall, wingspans, who run around like their hair is on fire to rotate and close out on shooters or cut off driving lanes and know they can be over aggressive because they have a shot-blocker at the rim. Except where the Wolves had Ant, Jaden, and NAW backed by Rudy with needing to cover for Conley, Naz, and KAT, the Thunder have SGA, Jalen, Dort, Caruso, and Wallace with Chet and Hartenstein at the rim. Zero weak spots and just waves of athletic perimeter defenders.

I am interested to see how Haliburton handles them and how the Thunder play him.

Hats off to the Wolves for their very good season.

Leaving room for them to come back tougher and better than ever next season

Must admit I am a little worried about Ant's progress and I say this as an Ant fan. Seemed to stall out this post season where it was anticipated he'd take the next step. Hate how he just disappears and I often wonder if he "gets it". I have some concern that he has a bit of that Jalen Green gene in him - like 5-10% but that's way too much for someone who wants to be the face of the league and mentioned in the same breath as Jokic and SGA.

Honestly, I thought this year would be a middling year like where we do get something like the 6th seed but get bounced by a better team. So, in terms of expectations, they exceeded mine - which is objectively nice.

In a year where the league was pretty strong - especially in the West - credit to OKC for being a step ahead of everybody else. What an awesomely constructed roster with a really good superstar at the helm. I thought the Wolves played really well in game 4 and OKC was just a bit better. Hard to be too upset.

Funny, I have the opposite take where I think he may "get it" too much and he "got" pretty quickly that OKC was the superior team. So, I'm not too worried about Ant as he'll be a top 5 player for the next ten years but I have concerns that the guy who looked like he may have that irrational confidence now just has rational confidence.
