2024 Offseason IDP Dynasty Rankings (and Free Agent talk) (1 Viewer)

Trading Jones had nothing to do with Reeder (or it least it really shouldn't have). I wish we knew what the reason was. Maybe Jones will spill the beans at some point. IMO, Hummel and Speights are both better that the two starting. I can't see this lasting all year.

I read on some Rams message boards that it was obvious a couple of weeks ago Speights was outplaying Jones and the Rams were worried about how to present the demotion of a Captain for a FA.

Which is why i find it weird that Reeder is starting - for now.

There doesn't seem to be an easy consensus and it's not like McVay has a rep for telling the straight truth about starters.

My (purely conjecture) take is that the truth is a mix of things. The Rams were looking at a rising star at LB and considering the cost associated to sign him to a second, far more expensive contract. They liked what they saw in Speights and want to see more (this is based on some posts in this thread and in a quick search that has coaches saying Speights will have a role - link to article from Aug 25). The Rams also know they have bodies that can fill the spot if the young player needs a bit more seasoning. Reeder and Rozeboom have the edge to start based on experience but I agree with Sleeperz that it seems unlikely that lasts. Reeder is the epitome of Journeyman. 4 teams, a few opps to start that were never super impressive, will turn 30 in Sept., and is on waiver wires everywhere for a reason.

My leagues are all dynasty so I'm adding Speights --> Hummel --> Rozeboom --> Reeder

Rozeboom and Reeder would be my choices (in that order) in redraft... though I'd probably avoid the mess unless desperate, honestly.

Well, I picked up Speights last night on waivers and Rozeboom and Reeder are still available on waivers. Not sure if anybody else even tried on Speights (can't tell who other teams went after if they didn't get a guy).

I don't know if the juice is worth the squeeze on this one. Rams don't prioritize LB, they might just rotate a bunch of JAGs.

I play 53 man rosters, where you can start 5 LBs. Can you imagine how barren that FA wire is right now? :ROFLMAO: And even in this situation, I ain't too excited about any of these guys.
The collection of middling talents, and the excitement about another UDFA LB just could be muddy for a while. ALL these guys are former UDFA who made the team. Speights is just the newest one. And none of the other guys has ever been helpful to owners, so I'm gonna hold off on that Omar Forever tattoo.

If you go by last year, It's Rozeboom He's best shot to get 80%+, I would say.

Definitely agree here. I was just looking through snap counts over the last 3 years and it's abysmal for Rams ILBs. I would say Rozeboom over Hummel in all formats, Reeder in none. Speights still as the top option in Dynasty but only if it's a churn roster space. I'm not dropping anyone I like for these LBs.

Might Curl be in line as a hybrid Safety- LB with this news? How does it effect his production, if at all??

Is it Curl or Johnson? I think those guys have been interchangeable in the box so not sure what happens yet. Might have to see a game first.

I'd be careful reading too much into prior usage. No Donald changes how the Rams are going to line up on d. I agree it'll be messy early in the season, so I wouldn't bother with the vets. Place your nickel bets on long term or ignore.

Picked up on the White fade last night and managed to re-grab Dean off waivers (having dropped him recently after hearing the total opposite). Starting him tonight over Ernest Jones, so fingers crossed the hype is real

Packers weren't a great LB IDP play last year but that may change with Jacobs depending on how they attack.

Yeah, I do have a few options but Landman has also been injured and i think it is too early to put one of the rookies in. Which leaves Henley or Jerome Baker as my other 2 options to Dean.

That's right. Adam updates his dynasty rankings usually every week (at worst, every other week) all year round.

I find this weekly video useful.
