2024 Philadelphia Eagles - First one was for the fans. This one was for the team. Next one is for the legacy. (7 Viewers)

Just a dominating performance!

-37 without Smith. Wow
- Barkley and the OL are what dreams are made of
- The way the coaches adjusted and defense buckled down after the first couple drives was so impressive!
- When fans say games are fixed games like this are why. Absolutely PATHETIC calls
- Milton Williams playing like this when they double Carter is huge
- Hope BG is ok!

That 4th down, QB sneak call at the end of the half was stupid. Just throw a bomb and go for a TD.

EDIT: But yeah, he took the points early. When you don't have to chase points you can score in the mid-30s.

That was dumb. Forgot about that.

9-2 or better Eagles starts in first 89 seasons: 6

9-2 or better starts in the last 3 seasons: 3
I wonder if Sirianni is a bad coach? He's too animated on the sideline....too many antics. Too aggressive on 4th down. Passes up easy points stupidly.....I don't know man.....he might have to go.
I’ll eat my crow- I was ready to get rid of Nick before the bye. He’s a complete mook, and he makes some boneheaded calls. And he has trouble keeping his fingerprints off the Offense.

But he wins. He wins a lot. And the players love him and play hard for him. He’s a better coach than I gave him credit for. I just wish he didn’t come off as such a mook. If This team wins a Super Bowl under him- I’ll get his face tattooed on my back.

With Big Dom.

and Howie wearing shades.

and Vic Fangio. Like Mount Rushmore.

Let me just say I’m glad we don’t have Brian Daboll today. That giants org is a mess. Former players are even calling Mara out saying they forced Danny Dines out and won’t admit to making a wrong decision. Lawerence Tynes tweeted today Giants made a business decision last week so players made one today. That team has quit.

In other news if and when we play Det they aren’t slouches. They got talent and a coach that the players will run through thick concrete walls for. That’s dangerous to play against

I honestly think this team wins in spite of him at times do to talent. I need more data to say we’re completely wrong. No one would’ve debated firing him after last season ended either and moving on.

Maybe the Giants GM wasn't stupid. Maybe he knew how awful the Giants organization was and could see a HOF talent like Saquon wasting away in NY. He would never get approval to trade him so he let him go so that Saquon could live up to his greatness. He sacrificed so that Saquon could fulfill his destiny.

I know your being sarcastic pertaining to Joe Schoen. In 2023 as general manager Joe and Brian Daboll decided to resign Daniel Jones. Then prior to this season draft/offseason, he emphasized giving Daniel a chance by upgrading the offensive line. Joe prior to the draft reached out about Washington's for Joe and Brian had interest in drafting Jayden. For Saquon Barkley's benefit. Joe decided to let Saquon go out and get an offer then be given the ability to match it.

As usual, two things can be true at the same time.

Andy Reid is a great coach

Andy Reid made an OL coach a DC.

See what I mean? Also I think it’s crystal clear that Nick has calmed a ton on the sidelines, has taken the easy points and hasn’t been overly aggressive over the last few weeks.

Vic Fangio’s defense has held opponents under 300 total yards for 7 straight games.

It’s the Eagles’ longest streak since 2008, which was Jim Johnson’s final season as Eagles DC.

The #Eagles have outgained opponents by 100+ yards in 7 straight games -- the longest streak by any #NFL team since the league expanded to 32 teams (2002).

The 1993 Steelers are the last team to accomplish this feat.

Through 11 games played:

#Eagles Saquon Barkley 2024:
223 ATT | 1,392 YDS | 6.24 Y/A | 10 TD
27 REC | 257 YDS | 9.52 YPC | 2 TD

#Vikings Adrian Peterson* 2012:
213 ATT | 1,236 YDS | 5.80 Y/A | 7 TD
35 REC | 185 YDS | 5.29 YPC | 0 TD

#Lions Barry Sanders* 1997:
220 ATT | 1,211 YDS | 5.50 Y/A | 4 TD
20 REC | 238 YDS | 11.90 YPC | 3 TD

#Rams Eric Dickerson^ 1984:
240 ATT | 1,320 YDS | 5.50 Y/A | 7 TD
15 REC | 110 YDS | 7.33 YPC | 0 TD

*NFL MVP
^set single-season record for rushing yards

Saquon Barkley has 500 scrimmage yards over the last two games.

The last #NFL player to have 500+ scrimmage yards over a two-game stretch?

Walter Payton in 1977.

In 2012, Adrian Peterson won the MVP with 2,097 rushing yards, 12 rushing TDs, 217 receiving yards, and 1 receiving TD.

Saquon Barkley is on pace for 2,157 rushing yards, 15 rushing TDs, 397 receiving yards, and 2 receiving TDs.

Saquon is on pace to eclipse the last non-QB to win the MVP by 240 total yards and 4 total TDs.

Even if you remove Saquon Barkley’s 70 and 72 yard TD runs, he would have finished the game with 24 carries for 113 yards with a 4.7 ypc.

The Eagles have a +1,069 total yards margin since Week 6. They are the only team over +500 in that span.

Most rushing yards in a game in Eagles history:

• Saquon Barkley — 255 yards
• LeSean McCoy — 217 yards
• Steve Van Buren — 205 yards
• Duce Staley — 201 yards

The players in #NFL history with 300+ scrimmage yards in a game

Flipper Anderson -- 336 (1989)
Billy Cannon -- 330 (1961)
Calvin Johnson -- 329 (2013)
Andrian Peterson -- 315 (2007)
Stephone Paige -- 309 (1985)
Prient Holmes -- 307 (2002)
Antonio Brown -- 306 (2015)
Josh Jacobs -- 303 (2022)
Saquon Barkley -- 302 (2024)
Julio Jones -- 300 (2016)

most scrimmage yards thru 11 games since 2000:

1,787 - Priest Holmes (2002)
1,709 - Christian McCaffrey (2019)
1,690 - Chris Johnson (2009)
1,657 - DeMarco Murray (2014)
1,654 - Ahman Green (2003)
1,649 - Saquon Barkley (2024)

Just wanted to toss in some random tweets. Sorry if they don’t flow right

Jalen Hurts -- #NFL ranks

I can't believe this is the same team from weeks 1-4. I've been strongly resisting getting my hopes up after what the Phillies did this year, but damn it's tough not to. Rest of the schedule is pretty sweet, 4 of 6 at home and 3 against the worst teams in the league right now. Won't need to board a plane again until the SB. Last time they went to LA and lost a key player for the season it ended pretty well. Can Hunt be our Foles of the DEs?

With BG out we do have some flexibility. Baun can line up on the edge plus we have Trotter. I'm curious to see how Fangio utilizes Baun. Baun could become more of a Joker role type player.

Losing BG is a huge loss. Compounded by the fact that the $51M man just went out for a couple weeks with wrist surgery, and we all collectively went “Meh.”

We are down to 3 EDGE players now: Nolan Smith as a starter (not ideal), Sweat (hurt his ankle last night) and the rookie Jalyx Hunt.

Baun can situationally be placed on the EDGE, but normally Vic throws him there for sim pressures. And you can’t take him out of his position as off ball LB- he’s playing like a pro-bowler there.

Milton can play outside. I think that’s where Vic will lean. But that means Jordan Davis has to live up to his potential, play more snaps and do ANYTHING on passing downs. More Ojomo, too- who has looked really good.

Love BG. Hope he rehabs well, stays close to the team to be the motivator and leader he is, and maybe feels like he has another year in him.

I really thought the Lions would cakewalk through the NFC, but there's a decent chance you guys will be the favorite come playoff time, especially with home field.

Your D has really improved and Barkley is a genuine difference-maker. Detroit would be well-served to make Gibbs their feature back, but I doubt that's going to happen under Gamble. He likes the "kneecap" aspect of Monty's game too much to make Gibbs the feature back so their split is pretty much even. As an opponent, you can't help but smile when Gibbs is on the bench (albeit, Monty is a nice RB).

I don't see anyone else in the picture. It's a down year for the NFC.

The Eagles' third down defense the last 4 weeks:

Rams: 0/8
Commanders: 3/12
Cowboys: 3/14
Jaguars: 3/10
Such a contrast to last year when they literally NEVER got off the field on third down. Unbelievable.
Its like we had a print copy of Starry Nights the past couple years and this year we actually got Van Gogh. The artist cannot be copied.

If I know the NFL script writers, NFCCG is Philly vs Detroit.

You never know how things will turn out, but if we don’t get that game this year, it’ll be a travesty.

I have a lot of love and respect for the Lions, especially after watching their Hard Knocks season. But, I think it’s about time I start rooting against them. If Philly hopes to maximize their chances, they need Home Field. And, honestly, I just don’t see the Lions dropping any easy ones.

This is absolutely bananas.

The second half of all of these games have been just domination on both sides of the ball.
Vic's defense and adjustments after he figures out what they are doing + Kellen Moore and the offense doing the same thing each game, around the same time it seems the past 6-7 weeks has been a fun thing to watch. I don't recall a defense like this since the early 2000's JJ days. I'm in love.

Yep. Both of them have been nothing short of amazing.

Also, I forgot to comment on BG.

He's not retiring. I just don't believe it, just listening to his own words. He has been sort of backpedaling on it most of the year - especially lately, he literally said last night "didn't want to go out like this" and that he'll rehab and "get back out there"

If we wants to play, and it sure sounds like he does, he will be back in 2025.

The Eagles' third down defense the last 4 weeks:

Rams: 0/8
Commanders: 3/12
Cowboys: 3/14
Jaguars: 3/10
I keep seeing 0-8 but I swear they converted a 3rd down n the garbage time drive.
Nope. I remember I kept looking at the stats on the screen and it said all night:

3rd down: 0
4th down: 100

That late one was their last 4th down conversion. They converted 3
Yea checked the play summary. Guess I misremembered that.

Per next gen stats, Jalen Carter played 114 consecutive snaps between week 10 and last night until sitting in the 4th quarter.

Come a long way since looking out of shape at his pro day as a prospect eh
