2024 Philadelphia Eagles - Sirianni can’t even make good decisions during a press conference. Fine from the league coming in 3, 2, 1… (10 Viewers)

Jalen Hurts in the 2nd half

9-for-9, 150 yards, TD, 16.7 YPA, 155.8 rating

Hurts also had 2 rushing TD in the second half.

The Eagles scored on all 5 second half possessions.

That was a top 5 game for him.

That said cincy defense is a bottom unit. Want to see hurts do this vs better defenses. But this game made me a believer that we should win the division at least.

I agree. Keeping his passing volume down while using his legs and the run game is how he needs to operate.

From Roobs column

The Eagles beat the Giants by 25 points and the Bengals by 20. How rare is it to go on the road back-to-back weeks and win by 17 or more points? Oh yeah, it’s rare. Last time the Eagles won consecutive weeks by 17 or more points was 1966, when Norm Snead and Co. beat the Steelers at old Pitt Stadium 31-14 and then beat the Giants 31-3 at Yankee Stadium. That was 58 years ago. The only other time it happened was in November of 1947 when they beat Washington 38-14 at Griffith Stadium and then the Giants 41-24 at the Polo Grounds. Three times in 92 years. It’s not easy to win on the road and it’s not easy to go on the road five of your first seven games and go 4-1 but to win by a combined 42 points in consecutive starts shows a team that’s really locked in and truly resilient.

I really hope the Eagles stick to the formula that has been working. Jacksonville has a decent run defense and a bad pass defense, so more balance this week might be appropriate. But after that, DAL, WAS and LAR can all be run on.

This is a dangerous team when healthy. I don’t think anyone will be calling for Nick’s job anymore.
Offense is legit. Defense is super suspect with no pass rush or LB all-star(s). I love our secondary, but our defense, especially the pass rush, needs a major upgrade. I fully expect Howie to land something, though I dont think anyone is standing out.

I still don't now what to make of this team. Hard to judge as they go through their anti-gauntlet right now, but you're supposed to beat up on bad teams, so it's a good sign. My trust of Sirianni is still low, though. Loving that Cooper kid. Don't think it's too much a coincidence he joined and the defense improved. I think the sneaky play is to trade Slay at the deadline and roll with the youngins, even if you think they can make a run this year (would be a gamble and they won't do it, but I would). Hard to judge offensive slow starts when you don't get the ball until almost the second quarter. That Barkley guy is pretty good. A shame he's washed (so we were told) otherwise imagine the numbers he'd be putting up! I dunno, I'm somewhere between cautiously optimistic and the Hawkeye "don't give me hope" meme.

Slay is playing great. Unless we are swapping him for a pro-bowl pass rusher, no thank you. We need depth and having rookie depth, who still get reps during the week, is exactly where we want to be.

I we think playoffs are a real possibility, Im OK parting with a 3rd, or even a 2nd if we are trading for sacks. Not pressures, but sacks.

HOLY **** that Washington finish. Brutal.
The NFC East crown may wind up having already been decided by just two game-changing plays: Saquon's drop vs. ATL, and that WSH Hail Mary. If both of those plays went the other way we would be up 1.5 games in the division, instead of 0.5 game back. That 2-game swing might be the difference.

Dallas seems quite behind now. I cant believe it's looking like ANOTHER consecutive year without a repeat division champ.

Every game Saquon plays I still can't believe NY let him walk. Elite player with a high sense of character is rare. I loved how Saquon was excited about that late score tush-push. Hurts gave him the ball to spike. IMO this team should continue to improve.

I hope Howie is on the phone this week looking to sign Zach Baun to a new contract. I didn't realize he is on a 1-year contract, they should lock him up for a few years. Guy is really holding up well considering the lack of buzz he got coming in

Put Baun's agent on hold and call the Raiders (for Crosby) or the Browns (for Garrett).

Great win yesterday. Stress free Sundays 2 weeks in a row.
I think we are going to literally RIP Doug Pederson next week, bummer but is what it is.
Jalen Hurts playing clean football always means good things. Love to see both trends continue.
Slay is giving up like 2nd least separation in the league this year per some Next Gen stats out there. This team thinks its going on a run, he is not getting traded.

Commanders games are going to be fun.
Looks like another Cowboys player got an extension and instantly got worse.
Giants should lose tonight.

Go Birds!

Jeruh is a stubborn, clueless crypt keeper. He continues to overpay his grave diggers. If I was his son I'd ask for my inheritance now. "Nah pops, you keep the team, just give me a small portion of the rest. Thanks!!"

Cant wait to play them. they dont scare me at all
Washington is a complete team

they should have lost yesterday. Chicago gave them that game
Yet they won. Winning through adversity is a quality. Winning luckily is also a quality.
I would not say they "should have lost" when they controlled the entire game and led the entire game until the final minute.

If Chicago would have won I would say that Washington gave them that game.

Watching the Steelers throw an 8-yard pass on 3rd and 13 makes me realize how thankful we should be that we have two WRs who can get open anywhere on the field.

I don't know the actual numbers but when we run the ball with Barkley with Hurts under center it seems like it averaging 5 yards a play. Combine with the tush push play we could essentially play with a 2nd and 4, 3rd and 4 mentality. I'm not sure how many plays we have for yardages of 5 or less but I think we need more.

This doesn't mean we don't take our shots. I'm thinking we need more quick read passing plays and just take what the defense gives us.

I wish they would do this so much more. So much of the NFL is ready for us to just toss it deep, it seems like the run defense is just really not ready for what the OL + Barkley brings. I hope they keep it up and even though Hurts allegedly doesn't like "traditional play action" this style could really be something that fits our team perfectly this year.

its gonna work really well at the end of year when its colder and teams are all beat up
