2025 College Football Thread: Big 10 exploring private equity for infusion of cash to give to fired head coaches (35 Viewers)

UCLA vs Ohio State in about a half hour. Nico is out with a concussion, the QB will be Luke Duncan, a sophomore in his first start. A three star QB from central California that nobody wanted. The spread is 34.5. Hey what the hell? Go Bruins!

Michigan State Football is disgrace. Hard to believe they are now the doormats of the BIG.

With a terrible team on probation, they might have to keep Smith as HC. Future is dim. Going to be tough getting players or a good HC to go there. Plus, they will probably lose anyone who is decent on the team now.

Another note. How did Smith ever get that job anyway? The guy seems like a lifelong assistant type..not a HC. Totally non-inspiring.

My BIL went to MSU and does not even watch the games anymore. I used to like watching games with him but he is done.

Everything went right for OU, can’t believe they pulled it off with only 23 points.
Heckuva kicker you have. I think if Bama would have made it into FG range he would have missed even a 25 yard FG. Good luck in your last 2 games, I think you win both and should be in the playoff. I truly think Alabama will lose at Auburn, they have a similar makeup to your team: great defense (not sure what happened last week though), mobile QB, incredible home field advantage for AU.

Smith has been a disaster for MSU, but he was a really good head coach and did a damn good job at Oregon State.

This is just like Rich Rod at Michigan, good coach horrible fit.

Smith literally left MSUs QB out there the entire game and finally got the kid injured. Then he still didn’t pull him out of the game.

He needs to fired tonight for case. It was criminal negligence

If I was Alessio's family, I'd call Batt tonight and tell them to fire Smith or he goes in the portal immediately. That was unfathomably negligent and it was the second time Smith has done that to an MSU QB.

Enough is enough with this garbage.

SEC teams WERE 0-286 since 2004 when down by 27+ until today.
You got to be making that up
It was on the scroll on ESPN, call them.
I called them... they said you are making it up.

The only other sec/sec game I can find anywhere close to this was Tenn/Vandy 2016.
That is a crazy stat.
I'm not sure what they are flagging in 2004 either. That may just be as far back as they felt like going.

Enjoy Demond Williams Jr tonight, although I think you're gonna see them slam the run most of this. Actually, it will likey be the Muhammad show. The FFers will slobber over him (just scored his 2nd TD, btw).

A lot of hard hits from both sides already, good stuff. ****, as I typed that an ambulance leaves the field with a player.

Remember, Washington is gonna run the table, culminating with an upset of Oregon the last game of the season. :-) UW are 10-1 at home under Fisch, with the only loss being to #1 Ohio State.

All of the replay garbage we deal with & clearly ole miss should have had 1st & goal instead of settling for a fg. Nope, not reviewing too bad. I hate refs with the heat of a thousand burning suns.

Texas playing with buttered footballs? Sheesh Arch’s receivers are giving him no help dropping everything.

They are not used to his passes coming on target probably. I will say the drops are to them but well behind their route.
Sad, but true. That pick was more Manning-esque, but he was doing well before then.

If Arch starts pushing and his receivers keep up the dropsies, this one is over.

Absolutely comical, ole miss 3rd down at the 1, run a trick play then throw a pass on 4th. This is why these clowns get fired with a billion dollars left on a contract. Inexcusable.

Texas is such an inconsistent team, and it starts with the QB. If he can’t figure that out, he’ll never play in the league.

If they don’t pull this out, Texas is out and likely wasted a defense that is championship caliber.

Haven't made too many large wagers on college football this season. Really tamped it down over the years for, uh, reasons.

But boy, I feel a LOT like Kramer at the airport betting flight arrivals right now with the USC/Iowa game. USC -6.5 just seems like a smoking good wager to me. Iowa has to pick themselves up after a bruising defeat and play on the road against a team that's clicking on its offensive cylinders right now. Oregon was down several starters and depth pieces and still managed to grind that game out. USC is going to just unleash hell on a tired team. IMO.
It is looking like heavy rain in LA on Saturday. That helps Iowa quite a bit as they have no passing game. I think Iowa has a good chance to pull off the upset.

Eh, it's warm rain. I'm not backing off on this. Combine Ferentz' comments about Lincoln Riley last year just bashing his coaching and his lousy defense and I think Iowa is in major trouble. If they get down 2 scores, it's over.

They are talking about 2 inches of rain on Saturday. It’s going to be a downpour. And USC has a grass field so I expect a muddy game. Now USC has a good run game, but making their offense one-dimensional is a big problem for the Trojans as Iowa’s run D is way better than the Trojans run D.

I hope you listened to me @General Malaise !

I think USC might beat Oregon. I wouldn’t favor them but maybe a 25% chance.
