I disagree entirely. The Fords have no interest in winning, they have money wrapped up in so many other ventures. Give us Detroits own Dan Gilbert as an owner, just as an example as others would even be good. He knows what it takes to please the fanbase at all costs including humbling himself for a crown to give a king. See how the Fords handled Calvin and Barry. I need no other proof or evidence of which there is plenty.
Come on with the bolded...there are few and always exceptions, but ask yourself if ownership like this would still own a team in NYC or Philly. Those fanbases are ruthless and they won SBs, NYC or Philly radio would have organized big protests. But, its a hypothetical since there is no franchise like our beloved Lions. I know the fanbase well as a whole, we cry about new ownership yet still almost pack the house. I have had discussions with people who do this exact thing? What else is there to do in the Winter? The Lions fans love the tailgate more than the game. Take a drive down Woodward, you know what I mean. Remember how Lions fans would drive all the way to the Silverdome even in their terrible years after Barry. Through the snow? Lions fans are loyal, and thats the point, too loyal to never take a stand for the helmet you cheer for. I get Lions fans are offended by my resistance to being happy about a single win that did nothing but hurt a team. Im shocked people were cheering for this team to win when any win can cost us Hutch or the BPA and maybe trading down. I can easily say, you are no fan if you are happy they won a game. Lions are the only NFC team more than 2 games out of the playoffs, even with that awesome win. But Lion luck now, they will go on a streak and hurt themselves. But hey, they get 3rd pick and hurt themselves, and when we watch the draft in April, you will regret these lame December wins like we always do. Bigger picture should matter to fans, especially Lions fans who are always used to it.
How have they not organized a complete no show to a game? How? That protest say even two games in a row would upend the ownership and force them to sell as that has never been seen before in professional sports. And if a big city of Detroit with big means to communicate can organize something like that, no city ever will. How can the passion of this city for a team that never performs never show its loyalty in a way that demands change.
I always bang the drum of do not go to games until the fords sell. If Detroit did that the rest of this year, you would have a new owner by the draft. NFL would not allow one of its teams to be the one team without fans because of ownership.
