2025 Detroit Lions: 4-1 Lions win battle of the big cats. (46 Viewers)

B.J. Ojulari would be my pick at 2.34 but I haven't detected any pre-draft interest from Detroit.

O'Cyrus Torrence or Steve Avila?

Keeanu Benton probably won't be there at 2.48 so if you want him now is the time.

If it's Mayer or Washington I'm going on a long walk down to the waterfront.

:wall:

A TE from Iowa. What a great pick.

Wasn’t expecting a TE. Hopefully he can block

Ranked 430th amongst TEs in run blocking. If we limit to 50% of snaps, 60th. If we limit it to the 64 schools that play Power 5 football and TEs with 50% of snaps, 27th.

Wife has an interesting K-Drama on and it's too cold to walk.

He's a receiving weapon- catch and run athlete. Though again, low value position. We are surely taking a guard next with how this is going.

Is there like an anti-intellectual faction at Allen Park that has everyone convinced they should make it their personal vendetta to prove analytics wrong?

What the hell is going on??

I don`t like it...Looks like they are getting Hutch some white boys to hang around with.

Wow , never ever would have predicted anything close to these first 3 picks. Maybe Campbell in the second rd.

Titans must have had concern about Lions taking Levis.

Mayer higher on every board I have seen.

Great receiver who had the third highest run blocking grade in 2022. Second highest receiving grade. I've literally never seen anyone try to claim LaPorta is a better prospect than Mayer.

Went off the board on the next pick.

Certainly going to be a comparison Lions fans will make for the next 3 years. Holmes taking some risks and if they don't pay off, it could be what derails the rebuild.

feels like they are literally lighting the picks on fire

Well La Porta broke TJ Hockenson’s Iowa record for broken tackles in a season by a TE

Not taking Mayer is bizarre. I assume they like the blocking TEs they have and want one who is a weapon. Lions are really prioritizing athletes in this draft. All 3 picks so far are arguably the most athletic player at their position in the draft.

ETA: And not athletic but unproven or from a small school, project, etc. These are Power 5 Athletes with production. Players who have been coached well.

For sure that’s what it seems from the outside looking in. Lions totally unpredictable in this draft

The common denominator between all these guys is they will start Day 1. You can hate these guys and hate the strategy, but these guys will be on the field a lot making plays. They are drafting to win this year. It is very contrary to what they said their draft strategy was.
Well said. It’s been confusing.
Again if he was their highest rated player I’ll stick with them until proven otherwise

This reminds me of my FF drafts when players I wanted kept getting picked right in front of me and I went on tilt.

Excellent analogy or when you draft players early due to FOMO

Please take more Cs and TEs, leave Detroit with some gteat options. Who is the best athlete from the SEC or Big Ten on the board?
