2025 Detroit Lions: 4-1 Lions win battle of the big cats. (81 Viewers)

Still absolutely giddy tbh

That article above … +3 turnover differential for Bears gave them a 90.7% chance of winning according to the empirical data.

So happy for Jamo to have a positive contribution again. That first reception he held on to the ball despite a massive hit. He’s done that a few times in other games tbh. Big TD again.

Monty was just feeling it 2nd half today. He came on super strong and was immense on that last drive. Bet he enjoyed that one against his former team.

D remains a concern. Genuinely don’t think we are a bottom rung D, we’re somewhere in the bottom of the middle most likely, but it just doesn’t feel like quite enough. Not sure what we do.

Getting Houston and Gardner-johnson back can turn our defense back into top 10. Our offense is so damn explosive, we can beat most teams as is. We must stay healthy though. We have no margin for error on defense.

They will improve us no doubt, but how much ? I hope as much as you’re suggesting but not quite so sure. And that is also still a good while away. Also don’t like those two Vikes games right at end of season, I think it’s ridiculous that divisional opponent schedule doesn’t always have 1 game in each half of the season.

Lions 2-1 when they have at least 3 turnovers.
Not when they CAUSE 3 turnovers (1-0 there, over Panthers), when they HAVE 3+ turnovers.
They don't ask you how, they ask you how many.
A lot of things to clean up, and still some questions yet to be answered. But we're onto Thursday!

things is they find a way to win

they do not care how it looks get the dang dub and get out of there

when the game is on the line they do what they have to do

Goff could have hung his head for costing his team the game - down 12 with 4:55 left, Jamo said everyone was so calm, just knew they had to score quick (they did) and that the defense would get a stop (they did)

good teams find a way to win when they are not at their best

would be awesome if they had cleaner games but I'm looking all over the standings and can't find the column for style points

my whole life I've waited for a season like this
First time since 1962 they are 8-2. So I think that goes for all of us.

I was three months old

wasn't a fan yet but there's a black n white photo from Thanksgiving that year

me in the crib in a onesie with my dad, who was a h.s. quarterback, holding a football I am trying to grab

the Lions had just beaten the unbeaten Packers by sacking Bart Starr 11 times

Dad and my uncles celebrated by going out in the backyard and throwing the ball around

(heard that story 1000 times growing up lol)

Who was the Lion defender who blindsided the Bears center on the INT? could not see the number on TV

Thought for sure that was going to be flagged.

Not sure but when they showed the replay from a different angle it wasn't nearly as bad. It wasn't really a blindside, the Bear player was in pursuit and saw it coming.

Watched the Barry Sanders interview on the Pat Macafee show today. Promoting the release of his documentary tomorrow on Amazon Prime.

Interesting discussion with Barry regarding Joe Montana wanting to come to Detroit because he wanted to play with Barry. Montana went on to sign with the Chiefs and took them to conference championship game.

Had not heard about this before and if so just another blown opportunity by Lions front office.

Eagles win over Chiefs on the road with both Chris Jones and Kelce playing. Nice come from behind win in the rain.

But the Eagles can shove their brotherly push play.

Chiefs receivers are going to cost them similar to Packers not getting someone to complement Davante Adams.

Most picked players on Mock Draft simulators rn for the LionsL

PICK 29: DETROIT LIONS

Most-picked player: CB Josh Newton, TCU (18.6%)
Second choice: CB Nate Wiggins, Clemson (16.7%)

The Lions are coming along as a fairly complete football team, but cornerback talent would be welcomed. Both cornerback prospects being above a 15% pick rate checks out for current needs.

It was the Lions unwillingness to improve the team which was the main reason he quit.

I don`t think they were unwilling to improve. At that time and for a long time after they never knew how to improve. It has to start in the up top.

Bobby Ross had success, Steve Mariucci had success and they failed miserably here. Lions had a losers mentality and that is tough to break out of that cycle. Now they finally have broken the cycle. Superbowl's are tough to win for any team so not sure we will win one, but I am pretty sure this team is set up to be a consistent playoff team for years, and when that happens Lions will always have a chance. Before they had no chance.

When you have Andre Ware as your QB and Joe Montana comes knocking, you don't slam the door on him. Whether it was total incompetence, as shown draft after draft, or unwillingness could be debated. But when your head coach proclaims, "what does a guy have to do to get fired around here?", I lean towards a lack of desire to win at the highest levels. Sheila is the first hyper-competitive personality of the Ford regime to run the team.

That is what I mean when it "Starts at the top"

And if you choose Ware instead of Montana it proves they did not know how to improve.

But in reality Joe was on the downside of his career at 36. The 2 years in KC he had a total 29 TDs and 17 INTs and KC was a better team than Detroit. SF and the west coast offense was the perfect fit for Montanas skill set, plus having Jerry Rice did not hurt.

One person who quietly made his debut for the Lions last week was Quinton Bohanna. Two fairly high picks, Levi and Martin, were scratches last week and Bohanna was elevatee from practice squad. Played 35 percent of snaps at DT, got a tackle and assist and a PFF grade of 66, about averaged. A massive dude at 6'-4", 360 lbs, he was a 6th round pick for Dallas back in 2021 from Kentucky. Was a starter for awhile, but never did much for Dallas and eventually was waved earlier this year and Detroit picked him up. Supposedly super quick for a man his size.

Good run stuffer to rotate with Alim McNeil and Benito Jones. Only 5 of his 21 snaps were passing downs. He had two run stops with an average depth of tackle of (-0.5), in particular I remember a critical stop where he swallowed the runner solo (D'Onta Foreman, who ain't a small dude.)
