Still absolutely giddy tbh
That article above … +3 turnover differential for Bears gave them a 90.7% chance of winning according to the empirical data.
So happy for Jamo to have a positive contribution again. That first reception he held on to the ball despite a massive hit. He’s done that a few times in other games tbh. Big TD again.
Monty was just feeling it 2nd half today. He came on super strong and was immense on that last drive. Bet he enjoyed that one against his former team.
D remains a concern. Genuinely don’t think we are a bottom rung D, we’re somewhere in the bottom of the middle most likely, but it just doesn’t feel like quite enough. Not sure what we do.
Below is what I saw in the Jahmyr Gibbs thread:

Getting Houston and Gardner-johnson back can turn our defense back into top 10. Our offense is so damn explosive, we can beat most teams as is. We must stay healthy though. We have no margin for error on defense.
First time since 1962 they are 8-2. So I think that goes for all of us.my whole life I've waited for a season like this

Oh well, no day is perfect. The Lions have covered the spread in 11 straight games against the NFC
This one was still perfect.Oh well, no day is perfect. The Lions have covered the spread in 11 straight games against the NFC
Lions 2-1 when they have at least 3 turnovers.
Not when they CAUSE 3 turnovers (1-0 there, over Panthers), when they HAVE 3+ turnovers.
They don't ask you how, they ask you how many.
A lot of things to clean up, and still some questions yet to be answered. But we're onto Thursday!
Well it is getting colder in Chicago these days.Very nice thread title edit.

Not sure but when they showed the replay from a different angle it wasn't nearly as bad. It wasn't really a blindside, the Bear player was in pursuit and saw it coming.Who was the Lion defender who blindsided the Bears center on the INT? could not see the number on TV
Thought for sure that was going to be flagged.
Sounds like you have things covered from every possible angle.Well it is getting colder in Chicago these days.Very nice thread title edit.

I let someone stick a camera up my butt Friday so I notice these things

It was the Lions unwillingness to improve the team which was the main reason he quit.Watched the Barry Sanders interview on the Pat Macafee show today. Promoting the release of his documentary tomorrow on Amazon Prime.
Interesting discussion with Barry regarding Joe Montana wanting to come to Detroit because he wanted to play with Barry. Montana went on to sign with the Chiefs and took them to conference championship game.
Had not heard about this before and if so just another blown opportunity by Lions front office.

I don`t think they were unwilling to improve. At that time and for a long time after they never knew how to improve. It has to start in the up top.
Bobby Ross had success, Steve Mariucci had success and they failed miserably here. Lions had a losers mentality and that is tough to break out of that cycle. Now they finally have broken the cycle. Superbowl's are tough to win for any team so not sure we will win one, but I am pretty sure this team is set up to be a consistent playoff team for years, and when that happens Lions will always have a chance. Before they had no chance.

When you have Andre Ware as your QB and Joe Montana comes knocking, you don't slam the door on him. Whether it was total incompetence, as shown draft after draft, or unwillingness could be debated. But when your head coach proclaims, "what does a guy have to do to get fired around here?", I lean towards a lack of desire to win at the highest levels. Sheila is the first hyper-competitive personality of the Ford regime to run the team.

One person who quietly made his debut for the Lions last week was Quinton Bohanna. Two fairly high picks, Levi and Martin, were scratches last week and Bohanna was elevatee from practice squad. Played 35 percent of snaps at DT, got a tackle and assist and a PFF grade of 66, about averaged. A massive dude at 6'-4", 360 lbs, he was a 6th round pick for Dallas back in 2021 from Kentucky. Was a starter for awhile, but never did much for Dallas and eventually was waved earlier this year and Detroit picked him up. Supposedly super quick for a man his size.
