[Hot Sauce Guy]

Kinda diggin a band called called “Father Of Peace” - they’re a trio, and they have what I’d describe as a sort-of 90s pop rock sound, but definitely a unique twist. Just listening through for the 1st time and every track is a banger so far.

ETA: apparently the album dropped in 2024. Singer sounds a bit like Serj from SOAD. I’ve liked every song more than the last. Really solid album. After further research, while the core is a trio, they have guests on various tracks playing various instruments.

It took me several listens to fully take in their last two albums and his solo one, but once I do, I'm hooked. I agree many people will be turned off by his singing. It's nice to see how much attention they are getting. Even The Atlantic did an article about them. Winter, in my opinion, is one of the best up and coming American musicians in rock music today. They are approaching 900,000 Spotify listeners which is quite good considering the music they play.

Same boat. Might check em out live to see what it's like. I think there is something there. Unique. Reminds me a bit of Scott Walker, which is also a tough one for me. Overall, I haven't tapped into what the buzz is about yet on the few songs I've heard, but people seem to love them.

Yeah, being called Heavy Metal and having a song called 'The Rolling Stones" doesn't describe the album. It's the mellowest. 3D Country is an alt-country version of Geese. Their debut was produced by Dan Carey who has worked with a lot of English/Irish post-punk (loosely defined) bands like Fontaines DC, Wet Leg and black midi. I like that one too but I read recently that Cameron called it a "rip off".

After about 20 listens, I think I like this new one the best.

Still amazing to me to see that kid and the band make it big. Fully deserving, but crazy to me.

I get not liking the vocal stylings...but its also part of what makes them elevate beyond another rock band. Hes all in in his own way, and like or not, i always respect that approach.

Ive never been a lyrics guy, but theres something about theirs that reminds ke of Pavement's....words for their sonic quality as much as their literal.

Flock of Dimes is the solo project of Jenn Wasner who used to be in Wye Oak. Her new album is acoustic singer/songwriter stuff with (mostly) subtle studio effects added in. Her voice reminds me of Christine McVie but it soars to an upper register at times.

It doesn't rock as much as most of the other bands that get repped in this thread but her record is gorgeous and speaks to me more now than a bunch of punks shouting.

Night Moves - Ring My Bell (Live at First Ave July 26, 2025)

One of those tunes that works better live. The studio version came out a few months back and I thought it was lacking something, as I found the chorus a bit monotonous and the song while having a lot of potential, didn't have the punch to make it really memorable.

However, this Minneapolis, Minnesota Indie Rock band do this a tick or two faster here and the chiming bells sound are more pronounced turning it into one of their better tunes.
