2025 New Music Thread (2 Viewers)

I'm shuffling through my 2025 songs I liked playlist in preparation for the FFA year-end song draft. It's a playlist that I add to constantly as I hear new stuff during the year. The good news is that I still like most of the songs but the bad news is I'll need to narrow it down from 233 to 20 (or so).
I mostly listen to albums instead of playlists, so for me it’s largely a matter of picking 20 songs from about 60 of my favorite LPs/EPS. There will be at least one non-album single though.
Me too, however, I do keep an ongoing list of songs I like that I generally hear before the album is released as a placeholder to check out the Album. No clue how to count how many songs are on it for this year, but is it is up to 12 1/2 hours now.

The New Cut - And As Always

Bristol UK Post Punk quartet with both a great song and video.

Write up of the band and the tune:

Culture Wars - In The Morning

Austin, Texas #AltRock band with another great jangly and melodic tune. Was at the very top of my weekly Release Radar.

Here's a write up of the tune and the band:

I just saw my 2nd "Top Albums of the Year" list. On November 12th.

Good times.
Rough Trade.

That's a statement and also presumably the list you saw, I saw it this AM as well. I haven't posted much in here this year, probably should do a catch up song draft.

I dropped the ball on the mid-year draft. The top albums thread was sucking the oxygen out of the board and then we rolled right into Summerpalooza leeg.

I was thinking about starting a year end song draft the week after (American) Thanksgiving.
Love this new one. Reminds me of some of the stuff they were doing on Church Mouth but heavier. Great release by them.

Depeche Mode - Ghosts Again (2025 Live in Mexico City)

They still got it. Dave Gahan sounding great at 63!

"Depeche Mode is so special for us here in Mexico. VIVA MÉXICO, VIVA DEPECHE!" '

Better Joy - So Long

A bit different for them, bordering on Alt Country or Country Rock rather than their usual Indie Rock, Indie Pop, Alt Pop, Jangle Pop fare.

Excuse yourself again
Does it even matter?
The wolf is in the kitchen
He's eating off the platter

Some of the new KoL has been really good- back to the original garagey rocking sound. But sone has been drippy and poor.
