2025 Philadelphia Eagles - Don’t assume leisure leads anywhere serious; Curiosity over wasted bravado often yields success. Soft teams in NFL know. (5 Viewers)

And there's our developmental QB. Looks like we definitely were going to take Sanders before Cleveland moved in front.
Not buying it. I think that was put out there to try and get more in trade for the pick, maybe even from Cleveland. Browns may have just found a more reasonable price from the team in front of the Eagles.

maybe? I dunno. We went QB shortly after and Shedeur woulda been great value.

No way Howie publicizes his intentions if it isn’t to drive up a price. It wouldn’t surprise me if Howie wanted McCord there and used a Sanders leak to secure him.

Some tweets on Powell-Ryland:

I had the Eagles selecting EDGE Antwaun Powell-Ryland with the 134th overall pick in one of my mock drafts.Philadelphia ultimately landed him with the 209th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Antwaun Powell-Ryland was drafted in round 6 pick 209 in the 2025 draft class. He scored a 9.18 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 168 out of 2029 DE from 1987 to 2025.

Antwaun Powell-Ryland is another great value pick for the Eagles and I had him marked as a Fangio guy. Undersized for an EDGE but his technical level at the position is elite. Violent tackler, elite with his hands, and gets great leverage when rushing. Love it

The Eagles do it again. Antwaun Powell-Ryland was one of my favorite players in the ACC. He constantly got to the quarterback. He found his groove the past two years at Virginia Tech with 24.5 sacks (16 sacks in 2024-25!!!)

Howie Roseman takes Antwaun Powell-Ryland. Should be illegal. #NFLDraft

The nfl letting powell ryland fall to the eagles is just not fair. Last yr jalyx hunt.

Powell-Ryland all the way down to the Eagles in R6? Had him going in R4, surprising.

With the 209th overall pick, the Philadelphia Eagles select Antwaun Powell-Ryland He was 3rd in NCAA in sacks with 16.0. Only behind Mike Green and Donavon Ezeiraku. Production type of pick.

Dude **** the eagles wdym they got Antwuan Powell Ryland

Love all the picks other than the very last one.
The last one?! Massive steal.
I mean I hear ya. From what I see ELITE speed, but smaller and a one year wonder after doing nothing for years at Florida.

But I mean it’s still a 6th round pick so odds aren’t great to begin with. Overall a very satisfying draft.
Misused by coaches he was an LB that transfered to VaTech and became an Edge

BJ Mayes Texas A&M CB UDFA signing

Overview

Mayes is a nickelback with good size and toughness, but he will likely be scheme-dependent due to his lack of top-end speed. He is instinctive and processes fairly quickly when working between the route and the quarterback’s eyes. He’s average in matching route breaks and will lose the footrace downfield if matched up in man coverage. He’s at his best when playing forward from a shallow zone, where he’s very capable of making plays on the ball or stepping downhill and supporting the run. Mayes has the talent to compete for a roster spot in an NFL camp.

Strengths

  • Gives a committed redirect of the route from press.
  • Good feel for expanding his zone with the routes around him.
  • Features no wasted steps and a twitchy burst to close on throws.
  • Reads the quarterback and shades his zone coverages underneath.
  • Will step in and strike the pass-catcher with jarring force.
  • Breaks down and gathers his weight as an open-field tackler.

Weaknesses

  • Athletic profile does not stand out.
  • Will struggle to stay in-phase with deep routes in man coverage.
  • Inconsistent in locating the football once he falls behind.
  • Average acceleration from his lateral transitions.
  • Appears as if he will be scheme-dependent at the next level.

Tyler Warren did nothing for years at Penn State.

Anyone have concerns around our RB depth? Behind SB of course.

As far as the draft goes I’m ecstatic about some and the positions we chose. I absolutely love the defensive choices and the OL for Stoutland to develop. I thought Mondon could have been a 2nd round pick and think he can even start and be productive. Howie’s growth has been amazing and I’m so glad we stuck with him.

Andrew Makuba you are an Eagle!!! Texas Safety plays like CJGJ!!!
Love this selection as well. Not as big as I’d like but a good ball player with some speed. Love the position selection

Glad they got a safety, not comfortable with Sydney Jones back there, I would have went Watts though.
Code:
C. J. Gardner-Johnson
Houston Texans
Position: Safety
Personal information
Born: December 20, 1997 (age 27)
Cocoa, Florida, U.S.
Height: 5 ft 11 in (1.80 m)
Weight: 210 lb (95 kg)

I like Makuba's speed. Will be a nice compliment to my favorite Eagles player in Reed Blankenship. I still find it wild that Reed plays FS and ran a 4.58 at his pro day. We all know he is out there for his mind and sure tackling, but he needs some speed compliment.
He is exposed in coverage at times but Reed is a perfect example of having just enough talent coupled with the value of instinctive play/film study and a DC that puts him in the best position to succeed.
And a player who can excel when surrounded with enough parts. Being a “system guy” is not a curse word and can be extremely valuable when in the right system.

Tell you what, Fangio has Howie’s ear and I love it.
Same thoughts, as usual. Yeah man! Pay but $$ then DRAFT the consensus #1 ILB round 1. I haven’t seen anyone influence Howie this heavily before and I am 100% here for it. I can only hope we trade up a bit more to acquire a few DL spots and BPA it out. Feels like Mayer/Musgrave incoming at TE
Ya, I think Howie is a bit more easy going after the 2 recent Super Bowls, and Fangio turned a bad defense into an elite one that one it all. He definitely was in Howie's ear about this guy and when Howie had a shot at incredible value, he did his thing to get it.
You forgot to say VF turned around the defense IN ONE YEAR. VF can draft every player for the rest of his tenure for all I care
When you produce the results your word becomes more valuable. That goes for Howie and Vic. We are in a fantastic spot right now and if we can develop half of these guys the sky is the limit.

Agree 100%. We wanted someone to fall and floated that idea. We have strayed from many players who come with issues like this and I personally don’t think we’d ever pick Sanders.

As far as owners go Lurie has been just awesome. Basically, he has been hands-off the football stuff he knows nothing about while making sure he brings in people who do. He could have bailed on Howie during the Kelly fiasco but, did not. That has been the single biggest reason the Eagles have been so successful and will continue to be for years to come.

In opposing team news per Schefty so the commanders with Josh Harris get a new Stadium in almost 2 yrs being there and Harris owning the 76ers can’t get a new arena in almost decade plus owning them? You can’t write this stuff up.

Commanders agreed to a deal with the District of Columbia to build a stadium at the RFK site, where it played from 1961 to 1996, and where the team had its greatest success, per ESPN. An announcement is expected Monday.

Per jordan Schultz and this goes with Kyle McCord as he got one they did find out the person who called Sanders was Falcons DC Jeff Ulrich son as DC had a laptop open son copied number down after Dad left it open and had walked away.

Kyle McCord among Pospects pranked called in Group of Sanders and Warren. Cooper DeJean had one last year

Sources: Penn State TE Tyler Warren was also prank called during the draft, receiving a call when the Jets were on the clock at No. 7. I’m told Warren’s camp believes it was the same number and/or area code involved in the Shedeur Sanders prank on Friday night.

NFL teams have access to these numbers, and it’s clear someone passed it along — whether to family or friends. Just so cruel.

Eagles UDFA with summary from John McMullen SI

Florida RB Montrell Johnson (5-foot-11, 212 pounds) flashed a physical running style with the Gators, coupled with 4.41 speed, and could push Ty Davis-Price for the developmental role behind superstar Saquon Barkley, Will Shipley, and A.J. Dillon with a solid summer.

Rutgers offensive tackle Hollin Pierce is bringing size to the dance (6-8, 341) and an impressive 36-inch wingspan.

On paper, the Eagles' OT situation is crowded and added two more options on Day 3 of the draft in Michigan's Myles Hinton and Cameron Williams of Texas, so it's a little surprising that Pierce, who has experience playing both LT and RT, chose Philadelphia. That said, long-term, the Jeff Stoutland seal could generate some opportunities elsewhere down the road

Toledo safety Maxen Hook (6-1, 202) had mid-round draftable grades from both NFL Media and Dane Bugler of The Athletic as a four-year starter who led the Rockets in tackles on two occasions. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has strong ties to the Toledo program, and having former teammates Micthell and Dallas Gant already in Philadelphia surely helped sway Hook to the Eagles.

Also reported agreeing to deals were Hook's teammate, Toledo linebacker Lance Dixon, Texas A&M slot cornerback BJ Mayes, Oregon slot Brandon Johnson, Central Arkansas RB ShunDerrick Powell, and Wake Forest receiver Taylor Morin.

Dixon (6-2, 224) is a new-age college journeyman having played at Penn State, West Virginia and Toledo and had some issues at WVU where he was once suspended.

Mayes (6-0, 187) is another college traveler with stints at Incarnate Word and UAB before finishing up in the SEC at A&M where he picked off potential 2026 first-round pick Garrett Nussmeier, the son of former Eagles QB coach Doug Nussmeier, on two occasions.

Mayes is a good athlete and has some rare length as a nickel prospect, and could make some noise over the summer.

Johnson (5-9, 179) is yet another slot prospect as the Eagles try to carpet bomb that in the hopes on finding a capable backup for Cooper DeJean, drafting Mac McWilliams in the fifth round and adding Mayes and Johnson, who played three years at Duke before finishing at Oregon. Johnson was a productive college player but has obvious size limitations.

Size is also the reason Powell (5-7, 183) went undrafted at RB. The diminutive back had three 1,000-yard college seasons, one at North Alabama and two more at Central Arkansas, but faces a daunting numbers game.

Morin (5-10, 186) stuck around for six seasons at Wake Forest and was more impactful as a punt returner.

The history of undrafted free-agent signings in the Howie Roseman era includes success stories like Super Bowl LII heroes Trey Burton (2014) and Corey Clement (2017). The two best players who went the UDFA route are current Chicago Bears linebacker T.J. Edwards (2019) and Eagles starting safety Reed Blankenship (2022

The Eagles have picked up DT Jordan Davis' fifth-year option, league source confirms. (@Schultz_Report first).

He'll be under contract for the 2026 season at a $12.9M cap hit. GM Howie Roseman said Saturday "we have tremendous confidence and faith in Jordan Davis."
Lets gooooo!

I want to see the extension come next! 2 years straight, starting every game.

49th ranked DT by PFF.

I'd say $12.9M is around market value for Davis. I put him in the same tier as a DJ Reader and that's what his cap hit is.

So the Cowboys drafted a guy to specifically stop Jalen Carter, called him the "Carter Stopper"

Dude has not given up a sack in the last 2 college season.

However, 3 years back there was a game against U GA where he allowed 3 sacks.

Guess who had the 3 sacks?

:lmao:

This isn't true. The Georgia Bulldogs didn't play Alabama in 2022.
Well f me haha

Its sad that disinfo is trickling its way into sports now too. People are posting this all over the internets. Should not have trusted, but I don't watch a lick of college ball so thats what I get

Because nobody researches anymore to see what’s real. I see people post a pic with quotes on Ig like some professional design of player or coach etc quoted. Look it up and it’s an AI generated post of Fale news cgi rendered pic etc.

I’ve noticed it on an Eagles Facebook group I post in. And it’s not just other teams fans but eagles fans and I’d say it’s a good % more of own fans then opponents. Stuff like AI generated pic of QB rankings or Position rankings they know will rule up the masses. Post it and everyone goes wild. There was 2 of these post on Eagles Reddit and a few Eagle eyed (pun intended) redditors did some digging and it was some AI generated thing not real. Both posts were quickly deleted

This year there was a lot of bs on prospects out there especially the Sanders front. The thing with Sabders though a lot of the bs could’ve been true just because of who his dad is etc. and that’s not saying they aren’t at fault either. What I’m saying is my GFs uncle was a few grades above me and I was friends with 2 guys in that class. Someone told my ex friend that my now GF (didn’t know much about him in school or my current GF till yrs later) that he made threats about my exs sister from kidnapping to assault to coming to their house among other things I can’t repeat on here. Cops and school and parents intervened and looked into it didn’t find anything credible just told everyone stay away from one another or we’re taking everyone in next time.

Long story short turns out another classmate made the story up told my former buddy. Rumor was started as my GF uncle was dating this guys Ex who broke up with him a month prior. My GFs uncle was a troubled kid in school but much better now, but back then he was bad enough it was easy to believe he’d say something like that. Because of that Uncke transfer schools in the area so he could graduate etc. almost recked the guys life over some stupid issue.

Point is we’re a reactionary society especially in America. Another example is an AI generated story going around about a soccer player who’s partnered accused him of Domestic violence. Was never charged and when she broke up she wanted half his money but found out the guy had zero value as everything was addressed into his mothers name. The story keeps going around and the player name has been changed at least twice. People still believe it despite it being over 3 yrs since it was proven fake

It’s unfortunate but we have to now background anything we see now. People are more concerned with clicks, karma and views and being first then getting something right

Anyone else read and watch videos of our picks like a degenerate or just me? 😂

Anyway, Antwaun Powell-Ryland (They call him APR) looks like he could be a steal in the 6th. His measurable aren’t great, specially his arm length, but he has an array or pass rush moves with a great motor. Hope he makes the team.
