2024 Philadelphia Eagles - First one was for the fans. This one was for the team. Next one is for the legacy. (12 Viewers)

Zack Baun in the playoffs:

- 3 forced turnovers (2 INT, 1 fumble)
- 2 fumble recoveries
- 33 tackles
- 2 TFL
- 3 passes defended
- 1 QB hit
Bain’s free agency will be fascinating. I have been pining since week 3 for Howie to sign him but will be curious if he hits the open market. If I’m another team I would be a bit hesitant taking him out of the Fabiano defense and not with such a talented DL in front of him. I know Edwards did ok when he went to Chicago, and I’m sure Baun would be fine, but i think his best result would be staying in Philly.

Help me.decide on a jersey

My current eagles jerseys and colors
Hurts kelly green
Dawkins black
Jackson black
Devonta white
Dawkins midnight green (super old)
Barkley midnight green (newest one, never lost wearing this jersey)

Im thinking a defensive player. Dejean? Mitchell?
I think the DeJean jerseys will sell more, I’d go Mitchell so people know you are an actual fan of the team and not just headlines. Both should be around for a long time but Mitchell will be the lowkey shutdown DB to wear around I think

From the way I have heard Howie talking about him, it just seems to be "how much" does he want want, I dunno, I'm guessing they have been having ongoing conversations all season long since maybe weeks 7/8 about a contract extension, and Baun hasn't been shy or quiet about how he knows how quickly your career/his career turned around by being in the right scheme. He is the guy I say is "NO CHANCE" gets away as a FA this offseason, personally. He is too valuable to the team + we have no idea when/if Dean is coming back next year early. Howie isn't the guy that doesn't learn his lesson on stuff like this after the TJ Edwards deal and not even trying to bring him back.

Just throwing it out there, but I think Kevin Pautulo might do a good job if he's OC. He's been around Nick like forever, I'm sure he has his own ideas of what he'd want to do, etc.

Also, for a Howie "zig when they zag" play - what if we just go up and draft Ashton Jeanty - a position of not quite need yet, like Goedert, coming off a SB win, and we would snag a player everyone knows another NFC East team greatly covets. Sort of have the same idea rushing attack going into 2025, but taking a lot off Saquon. I think I like this idea.
The sneaky name I keep hearing is the guy who calls plays for Penn State. I don’t remember his name but they say he is real
Creative and definite up and comer

It takes about 12 months to return from a patella tendon injury.

Too late bro. Got dejean

They are both awesome

well, since I was very vocal about Hurts as well, he was better in the second half of this entire season than I gave him credit for and he was at his best for the Wash game and the SB when it counted. He did everything I wanted from him. I don't think I was wrong about him :football:, but he has gotten better practically every week this year. Plus I now believe we have not seen his peak talent yet. I still believe he needs to work on reading the field better and recognizing coverage changes quicker, but absolutely happy to be on the wrong side of this argument about his overall prospect. I hope we get him a good OC to continue the asend.

Thanks all FBG's in the thread for an amazing season.
To be fair, the fact that he has NEVER had the same OC for consecutive years in the college or pros has certainly capped his upside. This is particularly notable given that he isn't really a standard pocket passer
He had Steichen his first two years as a starter, did he not?

For any Delaware folks that might be interested, have some spots left on our Eagles fan charter bus to and from the parade.

Heated coach bus with restroom, leaving at 7am Friday from Bear, DE. Philly drop off and 4:15 pick-up at National Constitution Center (8 block walk to City Hall/parade route, or free subway to 30th St and 20 min walk to Art Museum)

$40/person max, $30 if we fill the last 14 seats. Pay when you board on Friday.

Klowinski or something. He uses some motion and stuff but heard a lot of PSU homers complaining about him how he went away from stuff that worked and got too cute at times. Like they had a good running game going and suddenly changes the whole game plan to more passing. Or didn’t make in game adjustments. It sounds like he’s staying at PSU though

Just a couple things I didn't note after the game.

1. I so proud to be an Eagles fan. They made the Super Bowl a home game for the Eagles, super proud of everyone who attended.

2. This might be the greatest Eagles team or just any team in the history of the NFL. They broke the Kirk Cousins loss curse.

I have no idea what the 1948-49 and 1960 Eagles championship teams were like, but this year's team was easily the best fielded by the Eagles in my lifetime. I would definitely take them over 1980, 2004, 2017 and 2022.

It is certainly up there in terms of best teams of the salary cap/free agency era. The collections of talent amassed by the '70s Steelers, '80s 49ers, etc. are impossible to pull off today. But if you draft as well as the Eagles have for four straight years and make the right decisions in free agency, your team can look like this.

Least excited I've been about pitchers and catchers in about 7 years. 🦅
Funny you mention this. I woke up and the first thing I saw was Todd Zolecki’s podcast talking about pitchers and catchers day 1 and my first thought was “ALREADY?!”. It came so fast because the Eagles made the SB lol

this is the best eagles team of all time
Without question.

And I know it’s hard to compare teams in different eras and whatnot but those guys weren’t as big or fast as today’s athletes. Some of the SB champs from the 70’s would get smoked by mediocre teams today.
2025 is ready to hold everyone's beer

Edit terrible wording but, basically 2025 is going to blow the 2024 team away when we have a new OC that marries Jalen w the pass better, the defense adds a big name and all the young players take various leaps in years 2/3/4 of their careers (a lot of these guys which is the best part I keep talking about), and probably 1 more awesome offensive weapon either via the draft (Tyler Warren?) or free agency. I expect the point diff. gap to widen to a canyon next year.

I don't know... that '49 team had a 1 loss season and then shutout the Rams in the championship to go back-to-back. Greasy Neale had the boys firing on all cylinders. Bonus points for having to take the train to play the championship away at the LA Colosseum because Greasy didn't like to fly. I think a young Chuck Bednarik + their '40's grit could more than make up for the combined 450 lb difference in the O-lines.

Most rushing yards in a Super Bowl game — #NFL history

Jalen Hurts — 72 (SB LIX)
Jalen Hurts — 70 (SB LVII)

Jalen Hurts is the first QB to lead his team to 35+ points in his first 2 Super Bowl appearances.

Hurts and Joe Montana are the only 2 QBs to lead their teams to 35+ points in multiple Super Bowls.

Am I the only one who’s goes back and reads the yearly threads when the season wraps up? Man, we really nailed what this team needed almost perfectly!

The coordinator hires start on page 10 if interested.
Yeah I will have to re read. I still haven't even done the game thread yet I'm on like page 12. I've been doing THAT all this year. You get the various Niners/Cowboys/Lions guys always hopping in those rooting for the other team, and my favorite part this year has been the OBVIOUS moment when they just ghost the thread its so funny.

But yeah I think us Eagles fans, bc we actually hold our team accountable and are probably, if I may boldly say, one of the most NFL knowledgeable fanbases you can come across, combine that with passion etc - we have a good feel for how the team is going/what it needs. I think overall we knew what we needed aka a much better defense and better coaching and we can all pat ourselves on the back for nailing that.

Zack Baun has been wearing a medallion around his neck in the playoffs given to him by the family of Bill Bergey after he passed away. Zack wanted to honor one of the great linebackers in Eagles history. Howie Roseman gave it to him from the family. Zack has wanted to carry on the tradition.

Boss screwed my back up and I over. Of corse he has to get sick day before parade and not sure he’s coming in. Going in early tomorrow but if he comes in as sick as my back up said he sounded on phone. Me and 3 others are going to our manager to send him home or we’re leaving. My GF lives with her grandmom who’s immune compromised and so is my mom, plus my best friends daughter just recovered from chemo a year ago. Hoping for best and its dead around 9:30 or so then try to head down if possible

This also helped that KC has won a few times already. I think sb52 was similar as a lot of NE fans didn’t go as they went already etc. this isn’t to put our fanbase down but put this more in perspective what may have happened as well.

Got a feeling Warren won't make it anywhere close to #32

Anecdotal....but my daughter (17) sort of understands football is an Eagles fan and KIND of pays attention. Her and her friends ALL know Cooper Dejean and all of sudden understand the difference between a Safety and Cornerback. DeJeans jersey is going to be the defacto jersey of the young ladies of the area for the next 5 years.

I see ads for alot of commemorative crap on sale after the SB, anything you guys are buying?
I'm trying to find the best shot / angle of the strip sack when Williams and Carter blew up Mahomes maybe even to get signed eventually.
Hoping they add more Eagles to the upcoming Philly Card Show.
Maybe put up next to a shot of BG's strip sack of Brady in LII... he's signing at the show.

Bergy was a great guy. He coached his sons at a local HS when I played and we played against him several times. He always had time after the game to talk to everyone.

I saw an interview where he said that many people had asked him to be their Valentine today.

We were on Broad and Oregon and someone tossed Baun a ball to sign and the sharpie didn’t make it. The bus started to pull off so he just poured beer all over the ball and sent it back to the guy lol

On one of the broadcasts, a reporter was doing crowd interviews and everyone in the area started chanting "we hate Mahomes!"
