Dallas managers, what are you thinking this week? I picked them up coming off their bye and assumed I had a plug-and-play ROS, but truth is, outside of the Atlanta game they've been a far better NFL D than fantasy one. This week, I was feeling pretty good about the Siemian match-up, but Hill introduces a new risk, plus Kamara could be back. There's also the wildcard of the Covid outbreak the team is currently experiencing, both in terms of the players and coaches who will be out tomorrow night, as well as general chaos and distraction it might be causing.

I'm considering dropping Darrel Williams to pick up the Minny D as a streamer.
I am sticking with Dallas as my D for remainder of season.  I need help in RB/WR/TE and can't afford to hold more than 1 D.

JAX: HOU  NYJ  NE
Can JAX be trusted? If so, that SF and JAX combo looks nice with a HOU, NYJ, HOU finish to the schedule.
This is going to be one of the biggest questions for me over the next couple of weeks. Their 15/16 matchups are top notch, but it’s still the lowly Jags. Ordinarily, I would pass on a bad dst even if the matchup is good, but there’s literally nothing else on my WW in a league where everyone carries two dsts.

Has anyone seen cause for believing in a late season turnaround for the woeful cats? Maybe they’ll get a good player off of IR before then? Anything?

Anyone else feeling crazy enough to stake your playoff matchup on the Jags’ D?

Wouldn't trust them UNLESS you see signs of life that T. Lawrence and the offense actually turn the corner. Too much pressure on that defense right now.

Damn… went with Dallas tonight.. another big game. This Dallas patriots stack is probably the best one two defense this year.

Week - Matchup - Fantasy Points
1 - NE vs MIA - 7
2 - NE vs NYJ - 16
3 - DAL vs PHI - 12
4 - DAL vs CAR - 7
5 - DAL vs NYG - 9
6 - DAL vs NE - 13
7 - NE vs NYJ - 13
8 - NE vs LAC - 12
9 - NE vs CAR - 19
10 - DAL vs ATL - 22
11 - NE vs ATL - 26
12 - NE vs TEN - 12
13 - DAL vs NO - 14
AVG FP PG = 14 vs #1 DST AVG PG (NE) - 10.2

Cherry picking, as some games like DAL vs PHI and NE vs LAC were unexpected, but the rest naturally combined to favor one over the other.

14 - DAL vs WSH
15 - DAL vs NYG
16 - DAL vs WSH
17- NE vs  JAX

Likely the remainder. Unless Patriots put up a huge game vs BUF.

Great points by the Cowboys D no doubt, but they were playing against someone with the skill of an emergency QB. I’ve never seen a QB silver platter points to a D like Taysom did. I would have sworn he had money on Dallas with some of those throws. I think the bigger point here might be stream to against the Saints as long as Tatum in starting (Jets next week probably excluded).

I picked up Minnesota to play against the Lions this week and left the Cowboys on the bench  :wall:
I did the same but fortunately swapped Dallas back in a couple hours before game time. (Of course, I also swapped Taysom out at QB in favor of Russ because I figured what are the odds that both a QB and his opposing DST could produce in the same game?)

Now looks like he may be out for awhile, but that doesn't mean you can't stream against Siemian.

Steelers activated LB T.J. Watt from the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Watt tested positive Monday but was able to clear the league’s protocols with two consecutive negative tests. Coach Mike Tomlin suggested Watt will play his regular snaps despite not practicing all week. Watt's presence will be needed for a matchup with the Ravens and Lamar Jackson. The Steelers will be without CB Joe Haden (foot) on Sunday, while OL Joe Haeg and ILB Robert Spillane are likely to remain on the reserve/COVID list.

Considering AZ and SEA for ROS.  They look very complimentary. As do LAC and TN

AZ: LAR, DET, IND, DAL

SEA: HOU, LAR, CHI, DET

TN: JAX, PIT, SF, MIA

LAC: NYG, KC, HOU, DEN

Snagged Denver before kickoff yesterday once Toney was out to free up a roster spot as a keepaway for week 14 (likely rolling with Dallas ROS) - any better keepaway options here:

  • Packers (vs Chi)
  • Tennessee (vs Jax)
  • Saints (@ NYJ)
  • Seahawks (@ Hou)
  • Clippers (vs NYG)
  • Panthers (vs Atl)
Just picked up Denver on account of vs Lions but idk if any of the above have longer holding value beyond their week 14 matchup?

Chargers suddenly very strong play with their showing yesterday.

I currently have KC, SEA, and NO. Together they all have decent matchups.

That said, now drooling over LAC schedule (@HOU, DEN weeks 16 and 17 and NYG this week), but would have to kick one of the above to the curb to grab them with a max of 3 Ds on the roster.

Could ditch NO who I wouldn't use until week 17 (vs CAR), but would then give up the matchup this week @NYJ.

Looked good yesterday (which made no sense).

Not sure I'm a believer, but the matchups are there.

If they return to one of those "bad Ds, but good matchup" defenses they could burn some people when it counts. We'll see.

Would like to see some serious analysis on what the coaching staff did here so I can believe.

Considering similar options. Leaning GB or Denver because they're the best combo of DST talent + matchup + likely gamescript. That last part is key: Both NO and Tenn are good Ds with fantastic matchups, but their offenses are so depleted I'm not sure if I can totally trust them. Similar deal with Carolina. Meanwhile, I just don't think LAC/Seattle are very good so I'd rather not bet on them.

Should I roll with Arizona D vs the Rams next week or drop Heinicke for Green Bay vs CHI right now? Taysom is my qb. Trying to make a move before Julio is activated out of my IR spot. I could also put a claim in for NO vs Jets or Denver vs Det.

I've got NE as my primary D, but they are off next week. Picked up Minnesota and actually started them this week vs. Detroit (didn't want NE in Buffalo). As bad as the Vikings were, they still gave me 6 points -- a modest return. I want to keep NE for week 17 vs. Jax.

Here are my pairing choices:

NE: bye, Indy, Buffalo, JAX

Minn: Pitt, Chi, Rams, Pack (so, they clearly won't be used in weeks 16 & 17)

Seattle: Houston, Rams, Chi, Detroit

Tennessee: Jax, Pitt, SF, Miami

I rank them this way:

14: Tennessee, Seattle, Minnesota, NE (bye)

15:  Minnesota, Tennessee, NE, Seattle

16: Seattle, Tennessee, NE, Minnesota

17: NE, Seattle, Tennessee, Minnesota

Which D would you pair NE with?

Seattle defense with a good matchup for week 14:

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Davis Mills is expected to start in Week 14 against Seattle.

Is Mills really much of a downgrade? He has similar stats to Taylor. I was burned by him earlier this season.

Tremendous amount of D/ST to start as very good options in week 14. I'm questioning my strategy of not streaming unless you have a top 3 D/ST.

I'm seeing NO, LAC, GB, TEN, DAL, DEN, SEA all FA. Gonna cut BUF loose.

Will DAL continue to smash it?

Seems like once again under the radar and one of the highest scoring defenses getting little respect going to rival WAS. One last chance to pick them back up after being dropped cuz of Taysom Hill.

Have ARI, going after GB, and even DAL > ARI?

Been stashing Ds for weeks 16 and 17. Have three lined up, but LAC is sitting out there with @HOU and DEN matchups in weeks 16 and 17. Can't decide if this is any better than what I already have which looks pretty good:

* KC -- PIT, @CINC -- KC D playing well. Thinking Big Ben can be had in week 16, but maybe not after last week.

* SEA -- CHI, DET -- Two solid home matchups.

* NO -- MIA, CAR -- Think the CAR matchup could be a good one in week 17.

I could drop NO (who I don't need this week @NYJ). Wouldn't use until week 17 anyway. Hard to drop KC who seems like an actual legit D and could perform against Big Ben and Burrow who tends to get sacked and turn it over.

I have GB in one league and rolling with them after NO vs NYJ this week. DAL/PAT in other.

Honestly, DAL getting a bad rap that is undeserved IMO.

Let's look at the past 6 games and the next 4 games.

MIN - allows 16 points but no sacks, turnovers or TDs. MIN Is inconsistently good so this is about what you'd expect. You hope DAL can be elite every week but what defenses are guaranteed elite against tough matchups outside of the Pats?

DEN - this game was messed up. No excuses for this one, they just looked awful. But again, 1 bad game doesn't make a season. They are still rank top 5 in my scoring system.

ATL - 1 TD, 3 INT, 2 sacks, 1 block, 3 points allowed.... This is the elite of the elite scoring. Not many defenses can give you 22 points like this. This upside is unreal.

KC - 1 int, 1 FR, 3 sacks, 19 points allowed... I know KC hasn't been good so maybe people were hoping for more, but this wasn't a bad result. They were serviceable and I don't think KC is a top 10 worst offense.

LV - 1 TD, 3 sacks, 36 pts allowed.... Yes, this is bad. TD was a nice touch and salvaged an even worse day but LV is currently the 12th worst matchup in my league's scoring so it was within the realm of possibilities. Definitely doesn't mean cowboys are a bust...

NO - 1 TD, 4 INT, 2 sacks, 17 pts allowed - People think Taysom Hill gifted them their huge day but they really had NO bottled up for majority of the day before those last few INTs in the 4th quarter. They had contained the run for majority of the day until Taysom Hill started going off in the 2nd half. It would have still been a good day without the amazing TD / late INTs.

WSH - 18th ranked offense in FP. last 4 games - TB - 6 FP/ CAR - 4 / SEA - 5 / LV 6
NYG - 23rd ranked. Now with a 3rd string QB starting... Great matchup.
WSH - If they do well in the first matchup, I'd roll with them again.
ARI - I would sit DAL against ARI for sure.

I think based on the above schedule, they have a decent shot to stay in the top 5 at the end of the year. Division matchups are somewhat unpredictable though so who knows what happens next week. But if DAL dominates WSH, safe to start them until week 17.

Did you ignore the last month?
Lamar has struggled recently but he's capable of big games vs good defenses. 34 vs the Chargers, 23 vs the Broncos, 31 vs the Colts. I expect GB  to contain him and the Ravens but it wouldn't be a big surprise if the Ravens score 25+ pts.  The oline and RBs not named Lamar have been a problem.

Rolling TB out there most weeks ROS.

This week...have GB in one league that I am happy with plugging in.

In the other have LAC...not super confident...but they should be able to do fine vs. Jake Fromm if he is the start (just missed out on GB in that league too).

Rolling KC till the bitter end because all the other good ones are taken. I feel good about their ability, regardless of matchup.

For those of you who missed out on every popular playoffs DST stash, Seattle gets Chicago and Detroit at home weeks 16 and 17.
