Last week the Lazy Man's Guide rolled with the Ravens @ NYJ and held the Broncos

Lazy Man's Guide to Streaming Week 2

what's the over/under? pick from the bottom half or lower

NOTE: opening line which may shift during the week; also the Dallas line has not been set yet

Eliminated the top 8 who are rostered in 90% of Yahoo Leagues
  • Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs: 54.5
  • Arizona Cardinals at Las Vegas Raiders: 51.5
  • Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles: 51.5
  • Washington Commanders at Detroit Lions: 49.5

  • Tennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills: 49.5 NOPE rostered
  • Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Rams: 47.5 NOPE rostered
  • Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars: 46.5 rostered NOPE
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints: 44.5 rostered rostered

arbitrary and capricious cut-off; 13 DTs below which may be on the WW

  • Miami Dolphins at Baltimore Ravens: 43.5 NOPE rostered
  • Houston Texans at Denver Broncos: 43.5 NOPE rostered
  • Carolina Panthers at New York Giants: 42.5 maybe maybe
  • Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers: 42.5 NOPE YES

  • Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers: 41.5 NOPE rostered
  • New York Jets at Cleveland Browns: 40.5 NOPE YES
  • New England Patriots at Pittsburgh Steelers: 40.5 maybe maybe
  • Cincinnati Bengals at Dallas Cowboys: N/A YES NOPE
Tier 1 streamer - CIN (44% held) CLE (28% held) GB (79% held)

Alternate streamer - CAR NE NYG PIT

Not recommended but the Lazy Man's Guide - CHI DAL HOU MIA NYJ SEA

Consider picking up if not rostered - BAL BUF DEN IND LAR NO SF TB

FYI - in my long time 12 team league, where many managers prefer to pair Defenses, 18 are rostered and 14 on the WW.

CIN CLE GB are all rostered, so I will roll with BAL and DEN again.

Though MNF did little to inspire confidence in anything the Broncos are trying to do, they did limit the Seahawks to 177 yards passing and 253 yards total. That's the 6th fewest passing yards allowed in Week 1, and the 4th fewest total yards. (and yes, as a matter of fact our league does give points for total yards allowed - obviously most leagues do not.) Anyway, I'll roll with them at home versus the Rex Burkhead Experience.

The Ravens have a difficult week 2 matchup but looking ahead, NE NYG CLE are looming through Week 7. Hold for now. The WW options available include MIA MIN PIT.

Thanks ! that is helpful -- I've got NE (after switching them out for Pitts before game :wall: --leaving 33 points on table argh!). May hang with them -- Other options including Pitt on WW = Cle, Min, Cinn and Philly. --still feel like its chasing points --

Yeah started DEN and watched Geno Fn Smith go 13 for his first 13. I mean...are you kidding me?

And it doesn't help that N. Hackett may in fact be a moron.

Scanned all the ranking sites and DEN D is STILL a top 3 option everywhere. HOU offense seems competent. D. Mills is underrated too.

Debating going after CINC (@DAL) for this matchup but they also face the NYJ in week 3. Kill two birds with one stone.

Would def snag the Bengals if they were in our wire - with the Cowboys QB/OL injuries they’re just a hot mess.

Genuinely feel bad for CeeDee owners. I avoided him, didn’t think he’d ever been an alpha in Y1/Y2, but by default he was supposed to have a ton of market share. Now he’s **** on a bull until at least Week 8.

Everyone is cr*pping on C. Rush, but he played damn well last year @MN.

24-40-325-2-1, sacked 3 times.

Cinci playing @DAL too.

Dallas sure seems to have more problems now...O-line injuries, lack of weapons, but damn, this feels like a trap.

Could see DEN D rebounding in home opener especially after last night's turd.

Cooper Rush was chucking it that game, both Lamb & Amari C went over 100. He went to my h.s. and started four years at my alma mater. I’m not high on him but it’d be a great story if he exceeded expectations.

Cinci was pretty meh last week, but now they get Cooper Rush and then the Jets.

I think they are a solid hold the next two weeks.

Yup. Had Denver lined up, but after Geno lit them up going 13-his first 13 I don't know. Game against HOU is at home, but DEN showed me nothing last night.

Cinci @DAL is what I'm looking at. Would have to drop Den. Hell...that DAL offense looked terrible even with Dak and I think they lost another O lineman.

LAR at home steaming mad against ATL could work too.
Denver in the 2nd half showed something….

Well I hope so. I standed pat with DEN and the likes of CINC, LAR, and CLE are all gone now after waivers.

Banking on a bounce back...maybe in my survivor pool as well.

Browns week 1 and likely holding them for a few weeks.
I did pick up Miami once I was able to put Dak on IR. They will sit for a few weeks...but then get some decent matchups around week 5 and they have been a top 5 fantasy D the last 2 years. Seem to be a good mix of getting sacks and turnovers and not allowing huge scoring games.

Anyone comfortable rolling out the Colts this week? They severely missed Leonard last week and don't know if he makes it back this week. I know this is the big Colts "revenge game" (although, I'm sure Irsay will still be burning Wentz in effigy), but last week's showing did not inspire confidence.

Putting aside the fact that the Colts always have problems in JAX, the Jags also looked much more competent on offense last week. The Urban Meyer clown show has left town.

I'm personally tempted to throw them back for a streamer like Cincy.

Good call on Miami. It's just a shame that 2nd Jets game is tucked away in week 18.

Drafted NO (v. TB this week) in my 2 main leagues (12-team), but the following are available:

League 1 (cost: $5 per transaction):
  • CLE @ NYJ
  • CIN @ DAL
  • BAL v. MIA
  • NE @ PIT

League 2:
  • PIT v. NE

Clearly league 2 hoards DST's & while I'm worried about NO against TB, I'm torn on whether one of the above are really better this week/ beyond

Bolts D looked better than expected last night. They could have had multiple additional interceptions. Mack on that D is a game changer. Their schedule the next 7 weeks is great. They're a strong add wherever available.

Have Pittsburgh. Is it worth holding on to Miami or Dallas as well? Could use the bench spot for Eno and Miami/Dallas.

Are you planning on using Pittsburgh in the 6 weeks or so they'll be without TJ Watt? That’s a long hold. Near perfect game defensively VS Bengals but that run D was awful a year ago.

Dallas had 8 defensive TDs last year, which is probably not repeatable. They might implode with Dak out. Gloomy days in Arlington, maybe it’s not as bad as I suppose. Micah is a force.

Big fan of Miami’s talent.

Lol. I was planning on using Pittsburgh tomorrow vs NE, the vs CLE, then vs my Jets. You rate Miami over both of those defenses? You think the play is to drop Pitt and hold Dallas and Miami?

Looking at upcoming schedules, I see where you're going. Three bad offenses in a row is not a bad strategy at all.

Meanwhile Miami has some high powered offenses coming up.

Short term you're probably on the right track, my apologies for causing any doubt.

Way to early to think about this, but I love the Ravens playoff schedule:
  • WK 15 @ CLE
  • WK 16 ATL
  • WK 17 PIT
Who else has a good playoff schedule?

Im not a huge fan of Dallas this year. As Bobby said, repeating the defensive TDs last year (or even those INT numbers) seems unlikely.
I like Pitt for that short term schedule, and right around that time, Miami opens up with the easier schedule.

Unsure of your need on your bench (Im holding Cleveland and Miami right now but am ok on my bench at the moment).
You may be able to let Miami go if you are holding them...with their schedule upcoming, not sure anyone else is picking them up in the next couple of weeks, but you better pounce on them after that.

On Pitt...Ive thought about them...I go back and forth between them and Cleveland. Without Watt, its making it an interesting choice where I have leaned to keeping Cleveland at the moment.

Interceptions, fumbles, and (surprisingly to me) sacks are not very sticky year to year. FF Allowed to DT continues to be the best indicator - bad offenses who are turning the ball over - but boy is that hard to predict early in the year. Also, turnovers in general have been declining for years. Not sure if that's because of increased emphasis on ball security or some other factore.

I miss the days when the Blake Bortles type QBs made picking a DT a lot easer.

Yeah, I'm running just with NE now, don't love next week vs. Ravens -- Cle and Pitt available -- but too IMO early to drop skill players yet for another D

I’m pairing this year instead of streaming, unless one of them evolves into a stand alone.

WK 1 drafted DEN bc of the matchup, then “missed out” on 3 other DTs post-draft that looked like a good short term choice: PHI TEN WAS. Worked out two of them laid an egg. Picked BAL as a consultation prize & started them. Got DEN going this week.

Kind of second guessing bc I’d rather roster another lottery ticket RB, and probably won’t use the Broncos for another month after WK2. But season long I like the pairing despite the suboptimal timing.

DEN came out OK week 2. DST7, 3 of the teams ahead of them were unrostered (JAC ATL DET.) Week 1 I also had the DST7, only two teams were ahead of them. So really it was like net DST3 & DST4 to start the year.

Not sure about Week 3 though.
  • BAL @ NE - thought it would a decent matchup but after yesterdays collapse who knows. Of course the Fins have great WRs, NE not so much.
  • DEN vs SF - had this penciled in as a sit. But now 49ers are without their starting QB, RB or TE. IDK 🤷🏻‍♂️
  • MIN VS DET - what I thought I’d be rolling with. We’ll see how they look tonight. Lions are 🔥 rn.
WW is barren wrt good matchups.
