2nd set of FBG IDP Projections posted (1 Viewer)

Rookie Cbs aren't projected for much. Do you see the rookie corner "rule" applying to anyone this season?

well, as of right now, I think Joe Haden is the nickel CB in Cleveland so that hurts his value a bit. Same thing with Kyle Wilson with the Jets.the most likely breakout CB this year, IMO, is Kareem Jackson in Houston. He's at CB35 right now but ranks #1 in my Houston CB projections and he'll probably get bumped up once we get confirmation that he'll be starting.

Just taking a quick glance at the OLB rankings, these are just a couple of observations:

Andre Carter seems to be ranked a little bit higher considering he is switching back to Lb from DE in a new scheme he didn't fare to well with in SF.

Cushing still ranked at 5 even though he misses the 1st 4 games

Bobby Carpenter being ranked as high as he is even though he proved nothing in Dallas other then possibly being cut from the team.

Orkapo I would think should be ranked a little higher since he is going to be rushing the QB much more frequently.

Overall it looks very good though

It does look like I'm really high on Carter, especially compared to what John has him projected for. I just think they will use him more as a pass-rusher and less in coverage. At this point in his career, they know what works and what doesn't. I will probably have to bring him down a bit when we get more info, but I'm still thinking he'll be more of a DE than OLB.Cushing shows up pretty high on the OLB list, but I have him projected for ~20 fewer fantasy points than John does and almost 60 fewer points than he put up last year so I think I factored in the suspension there pretty significantly.Carpenter seems like he's in a great situation going from being a part-time player in Dallas to a likely 3-down LB role on a team whose defense will be on the field a lot. 64 solos doesn't seem like it will be that tough for him to reach but the big plays could bump him up into a decent depth option.I'll probably move Orakpo up at some point, but not too much. 40+ solos and double digit sacks is a pretty good season for a 3-4 OLB.

LaMarr Woodley Pitt LB. Last year he was horid first 8 weeks of season. Last 8 weeks the guy was a monster, close to being #1 LB over that span. I see this year, you have similiar projections as how he finished last year. Is this because noone knows which Woodley will show up? Was it a defensive scheme change in the midde of the year...There has got to be some insite on this guy....

basically I think he underperformed early and overperformed late. I expect some regression towards the mean from him in 2010.

Woodley and Harrison kind of switched roles midseason, you can see it pretty clearly in their numbers, how it plays out this year...well we'll probably have to sit and wait.

Personally, I think Harrison is getting ready to pass the baton, but what I think is meaningless at this stage.

Appreciate the projections, but is there a way to combine LB into 1 position - ditto for DL and DB?

I know its helpful to break them out for leagues that start specific positions, but we just use the basic DL, LB, and DB

Yes, you can do this with MyFBG. There's a pulldown tab midway down the page to view projections by larger positional groups and broken out by DE/DT and CB/S.

I like Bierman as a DE2 or 3 this year. Tell me why you project him so high.
yeah, he does look too high at the moment as I don't necessarily think he's going to be a top-10 fantasy DE. But, that might just mean I have some other guys around him projected too low.I do like his chances this year. Jamaal Anderson has been moved inside so Bierman has a great chance for an everydown role playing opposite Abraham. I'm also thinking that Dunta Robinson is an upgrade in the secondary so that should make things a bit easier for the guys up front to generate some pressure. It's possible Lawrence Sidbury could complicate things but even in a rotation, I like Bierman's game and effort. 44 solos and 8 sacks seems possible since he put up 38 solos and 5 sacks last year in a part-time role.
