4th pick in a 16 team head to head league (1 Viewer)

Is that too early to take my boy Joey Votto? I am a Reds fan so I realize it is a homer pick, but is it too early? I see Pujlos, A Gonzo, and Hanley more then likely being the first 3 since Miggy has his possible DUI issue.

Thoughts greatly appreciated.

ETA: I should say that our draft starts March 7th, slow online that usually takes 2-3 weeks to complete.

Tulo? For me I think it's Tulo, Crawford or maybe Votto. I think with 16 teams you'll be ok passing on Longoria at 3B. If Votto steals double digits or hits .320 again then he's the guy.

I ended up having the 3rd pick instead of 4th and I took a chance on Adrian Gonzalez. First 2 picks were Pujlos and Hanley, just didn't feel comfortable taking Miggy at 3 and almost took Votto. I just think that Gonzalez is going to put up HUGE numbers in Fenway, guess time will tell.

He actually fell to 5th, the guy picking 4th took Cano which made me feel a little bit better anyway. I just have a feeling about Gonzalez in boston. We had a SP run and I took Kershaw at 2.14 and then took Choo coming back at 3.3

Choo at 3.3?? Cano was one of the best picks on the board. I would take Cano and Tulo over Hanley.

You need one of the 10 big bats at 1B. Pujols, Miggy, Votto, AGonz, Tex, Fielder, Howard, Dunn, Morneau, Youkilis. There's a huge dropoff after that.

In a 16-team league, they might all be gone by your next pick. I took Votto at 4th overall in a 20-teamer, and none of those other guys were still around at the end of the 2nd round. So I don't see anything wrong at all with taking Votto.

I wouldn't fault you for going with Votto, Longoria, or Miggy. I would fault you if you went with anyone else.

I'm in a 14 team 5x5 and took Swiggy Cabrera with the #4.

The 1B that fell back to me were underwhelming at best. If you are really worried about the DUI then I'd take Votto.

was morneau available in the 2nd? if so, a great start would have been longoria/cano and morneau

I want no part of Morneau in the first two rounds this year. Persistent concussion problem + home park that suppresses power = too much risk.
