That was very sad and unfortunate. It was nice to see Ronde Barber talking about heat illness awareness concerning sport playing youths the other day, made me think of Stringer.

Korey Stringer passes away

almost 40 days later the 9/11 attacks, what a horrible couple of months that was.

All of Viking nation misses you
I realize that Korey Stringer dying was sad, but it should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as 9/11
is it offensive or something? OP was just saying how nothing good was going on back then.
Not offensive to me, but if someone had lost a loved one on 9/11 and this guy is comparing a football player he had never met to the loss of thousands of people can be seen as offensive....

What if Mrs. Stringer read this?

Didn't notice he was comparing it. Just looked like a couple of big news stories that he felt were significant from that time period.

I still think about Stringer's death along with the Wheeler kid from Northwestern to this day everytime I take my kids out to practice in the heat of this Houston summer.(If you've ever been here in the summer you know what I mean) I'm not saying it was a good thing that they died but it brought alot more awareness to the fact that even athletes can fall prey to heat. Funny thing though was when I was in my teens I would always be out ballin in the sun and heat and never once thought about it. Glad to see that it brought more awareness to this situation that can so easily be avoided.

I never compared them, its the FFA/Sharkpool way to belittle someone and try and make a joke. Little do they know the joke is always on them as they make themselves look like fools.

I had a hemorrhoid the week of 9/11. Discuss.

I started a sweet job at a hedge fund on 9/10. Worked 1 day and got the rest of the week off.

As somebody who has lost a number of relatives, it is offensive to me that some people apparently think the loss of a loved one in a terrorist attack should somehow carry with it more weight.

I don't think anyone was assuming that the 9/11 victims were fat.

I guess you had to run out of funny sometime.

There was no comparison in the OP it was presented as: this happenned, and then that happenned

9/11 was glorified(forgive the choice of word, tough one) some with all it's press coverage and....ya know that's a very interesting point I don't think I've ever heard. God forbid losing a loved one in (for example) Mississippi on 9/11 and that deceased person hasn't been paid their "respects" because everyone was so interested in the people in NYC. I lived not too far from NYC and spent alot of time in NYC. I was definitely all engrossed in the WTC news. I could not tell you anything else that went on that day in the news.

Thinking back, maybe I had had enough of everything indirectly associated with Korey. There wasn't too too much written about Korey, the man. I mean about all the indirectly associated heat stroke and heat exhaustion articles.

I wanted to know.

I wanted to understand.

I wanted to know the teams understood and were making changes.

That doesn't take a couple months to learn. They went a bit overboard.

Along with that, what do you guys know about Korey?
