I love playing through week 17!! "It's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you'll get"My two oldest leagues go through week 17. (All my leagues that are less than ten years old end in week 16.)There's a lot of randomness in fantasy football. Playing in week 17 just brings that point home a bit more than usual. My week 17 roster usually consists of about 50%-70% players I picked up within the previous two weeks. The week 17 waiver-wire activity is almost like having a full-on separate draft in December. That's not a wholly bad thing if you like drafting.
You can't? You can't draft/pickup/trade for a decent backup QB in case P Manning doesn't play in week 17? You can't draft Gerhart in case Peterson sits in week 17 b/c there is nothing to play for? You can't roster an extra WR in case Reggie Wayne doesn't play week 17?If that's the case, then those are tough leagues you play in. Most (all) of my leagues allow me to draft, pick up, or trade for players other than my normal starters. No, you can plan for bye weeks before the season. You can't plan for which guys are going to be sitting in week 17 because you don't know who they are. This year is unusual in that most teams still have something to play for, at least in the early games.

Why do you have two accounts, Bayhawks? Why must you continue to make ridiculous analogies?^ part of the game...you pick up waiver guys each week, week 17 is no different. NFL plays week 17, no reason fantasy shouldn't.Why shouldn't a guy like Simpson be relevant?...Should we not play week 1 as well because we are not sure how the players will start the year?
Okay, here you go. I have one account, and it is this one. If there were a way to prove it to you (Mods, is that possible), I would do so.However, you have not brought anything of merit to this thread. You make snide comments, but when asked to actually discuss/debate the topic, you vanish. I've asked you several times to show any logical reason not to play week 17, and you avoid the question. You make smart comments likeWhy do you have two accounts, Bayhawks? Why must you continue to make ridiculous analogies?^ part of the game...you pick up waiver guys each week, week 17 is no different. Guess what, none of Brohm, Brunell, McGee, Harrison, nor McKnight were started in my leagues' championship. There were 2 players that were normal starters who were sat: they were Mike Vick (started Roethlisberger in his place) and McFadden (started M Bush in his place). All 4 of those players were drafted, and all were viable starters at different points in the season. If you could have a rational, adult conversation, and discuss facts, this thread might be productive. Since you are a child who is unable to actually have a serious conversation, you are wasting everyone's time. This Bayhawks kid will not give up.The guys in my league just prefer to not let guys like Brian Brohm. Mark Brunell, Stephen McGee, Jerome Harrison, and Joe McKnight decide our league champion.lol.gif
Good link. I'm curious, though, what "their numbers" are. I read the article and didn't find where they got that info. I would imagine (since it's a Yahoo article), that it is referring to Yahoo leagues. Thanks for posting this.2 minute google search...

"According to our numbers, less than 20 percent of leagues choose to decide a champion in Week 17."
Wow. Just wow.theplayer11 said:Our Champion started Tebow for Vick and picked up Simpson off waivers for the injured Nicks...well played. His opponent picked up McNight and started over Hillis, good move. Nothing unusual here and no benched players cost someone the championship. Just another week off exciting fantasy football...
Not that I mind.. but this in no way describes your attempts here. Every post contains some attempt at a personal attack (see above after your plea for an adult conversation).Bayhawks said:If you could have a rational, adult conversation, and discuss facts, this thread might be productive.
