8pm - Jordan Reed [Q] - TE, WAS - OUT (1 Viewer)

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter

Redskins TE Jordan Reed suffered a pre-game headache and now will be inactive. Redskins expected him to play.

Well, this just caps off a brutal day of fantasy football just beautifully. :ptts:

In answer to your question, Logan Paulsen gets the start. I'm just taking the zero. I picked up Heath Miller and dumped Reed. Good riddance to the Redskins, hail another defeat!

Cool. What kind of guppy-### league still allows pickups
Pretty common for teams that haven't played yet.

Otherwise, how the he1l would anyone deal with last-minute game-time decisions made by the teams like this?

The putrid stink of elitism is pouring off you like a portapotty at a summer music festival.

ETA: To be clear, the Giants' game hasn't started tonight yet, so in most leagues, Myers isn't locked yet, and this is a more-than-valid option for managers in a pinch.

Luckily I don't need him today, but I'm gonna start Paulsen anyways cause hey, you never know if the standings will come down to total points. Hopefully Reed is ready next week.

No offense, but IMO that's a pretty horrible rule.

I'll gladly listen to whatever arguments might justify it, but IMO once the games start, waivers should stop. Fine if you want to substitute someone on your roster's bench, but to be allowed to add/drop once the games have started is a pretty big crutch, IMO. Don't think I could ever agree to play in a League with a rule like that, but, to each his own...

I doubt anyone cares about your opinions on how leagues should work. Have a bad day?

I don't see the problem. The game HASN'T started so why is that a bad pickup? I'd rather be in a competitive league which allows for a pickup than one that says, "we'll, your screwed b/c of an unforeseen last minute inactive."

you cant pickup players that havent played after thursday games?

Didn't catch this until it was too late.

Great big 0 from my TE.

And to think i traded Vereen for this guy 4 weeks ago to shore up my TE position.

Don't try to reason with him.

My league allows waiver pickups as long as the player you drop hasn't played yet and the player you pick up hasn't played yet. Don't see why anybody would have an issue with this other than being stubborn and standing on some stupid tradition.

No reason an owner that is starting somebody scheduled to play at noon should have an advantage over somebody that has a player that will start sunday night. Especially since sunday night can get flexed.

This is the standard option in Yahoo leagues. I don't see an issue with it as long as you're dropping players who haven't played yet and you're picking up guys who haven't played yet. By barring this from happening you'd technically have to lock players after Thursday night!

I'd like to hear why waivers should be closed at kick off of the first game of the week. That's an outdated rule that ignores reality of the NFL now.

I seriously doubt anyone will attempt to explain why it should be locked. Some guys like to spout off at the mouth until they're pressed to explain.

My league locks pickups at 12:55 eastern, Sunday. You can change your lineup but not make pickups. Always has, always will. If you're worried about a guy in a late game, make sure you've got options.
