A couple of Young WR's - Dynasty (1 Viewer)

I have a chance to get both Michael Clayton and Troy Williamson to build for the future in a dynasty trade. Not looking for trade advice but wonder what the Sharks think about these guys and how they will do in the future.

Is Michael Clayton a really good WR like his rookie year and is suffering because of the QB this year?

Is Williamson really going to turn into a good WR? He seems to have skills and I guess that he can learn to stop dropping the ball?

Thanks for your opinions

Michael Clayton seems f'ed in the head. There were reports in the shark pool a while ago about his constant partying after his rookie year and I'm not sure if he'll ever regain the work ethic he once had. Talent isn't his problem.

I think Williamson is more likely to reach his potential--he's had some early-career struggles with catching the ball, but he's also had a QB who can't take advantage of his biggest strength (speed), and he could definitely turn into a force.

There are plenty of WR's who struggled their first couple of years before blowing up. It's harder to think of a WR who was awesome to begin with, then stunk, then became awesome again.

The closest I can think of in recent years:

but he didn't fall as hard as Clayton:

Thanks,Clayton sure did fall when you look at his rec totals 2004-80,2005-32,2006-24 (so far). Any homers that watch his games and know if he is the problem or is the QB issues are more of the problem.

Anyone remember who his starting QB was in 2004 did Simms take over in 2005?

Brian Griese was the QB in 2004 and totally locked into Clayton, although Galloway produced as well down the stretch.. When Simms took over, he locked into Galloway, and MC's injury hurt him. What's happened to MC this year is beyond me, except that a rookie QB isn't helping his situation much. Still, at least Galloway, while quiet overall, has had a few big games this year. Nada from Clayton though.
