League message board in the order of olest to newest...

I guess there was an oversight or something when we designed our draft order...but something needs to be changed for next year. I feel like a real jerk for tanking the final game of my season....but I have to do what is the most smart and best move for my team. If I were to beat the Titans this week I would have the possibility moving down 2 draft spots from 2nd to 4th.
I must do what I have to do in order to give my team the best chance for a Super Bowl win next year.
There is always that chance that the Corp. losing this week doesn't effect the playoff picture, but at the same time I hope this scenario brings some attention to the rest of the league how we can make things a little better for everybody. We can change the draft rules and pick order at some point in the future to make sure that we don't have a team who's season is over losing intentionally and destroying the competitive spirit of the game for a better draft pick for the next year.

Just a note regarding xxxxxxxxxx's unsportsmanlike decision to throw a game in order to improve his draft pick: Shameful.
We count on teams trying to win every week. Through honest competition, you either win or lose with the expectation that you play your best players each week in a legitimate effort to win that week.
If after that honest effort every week, you lose, then you who ends up with the honestly worst record despite your BEST efforts are entitled to the highest draft pick. We shouldn't have to make a rule that says you don't purposfully tank and that you should play to win every week. We don't need a rule that says we reward purposeful and intentional failure.
As such, for his blatant unsportsmanlike conduct to manipulate his win-loss record to improve his own team through purposeful failure resulting in an unatural upset of the competitve balance of the league to include playoff seedings, and through my role as deputy commissioner of this league, I make a motion for a sanction to be made against The Corporation and xxxxxxx that bans him from competition in this Dynasty league and a stripping of his team. Should that prove to be too harsh a penalty, then I make a motion to strip him of all his draft picks in the 2011 rookie draft.
John's conduct in the matter of him purposefully tanking is the worst kind you can have in competitive sports. The fact that he knowingly engaged in this very low class move and had to apologize means that he fully knew it was wrong. We simply in good conscience cannot turn our collective backs on this affront to clean, fair, and honest competition. Our enactment of a harsh, firm, and swift penalty no doubt will send the right message that this league does not in any way, shape, or form condone such reprehensible and unsportsmanlike behavior in a game that requires just that from its members.
All owners in favor please sound off.
Sincerely,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So, if I’m reading xxxxxxx message correctly, it was ok to tank the game because one reason he did it was to bring attention to rules that need to be changed and this will help the league long term. BULL ####****. What happens next year? -----“I’ll lose this week if you split your winnings with me? Heck no one will even notice since I’ve already clinched my playoff spot.” There are no rules that could stop that. You either have the integrity to compete fairly or you don’t.
Since we now know that he would have won with his usual lineup, what he did was permanently taint the entire season. There is now a team that should be in the playoffs that isn’t, there are teams that may advance in each round that wouldn’t have had they played a different team---- and in the end, there is a chance that our 2010 champion will have the misfortune of knowing that they would not have advanced under a different scenario. ….although I’m sure the money we all contribute will ease the pain a little.
And it doesn't stop there-----that guy you wanted in the 2011 draft may not be there because The Corporation just pushed several teams down a spot.
You can chalk this email up to sour grapes but I’m with Rob and agree that some form of action needs to be taken. More than a playoff spot and $50 was taken away this week. Next time you see someone go with a hunch and wonder if it’s for legitimate reasons, we can all look back and thank Week 14 of the 2010 season. In my opinion a league can’t survive for long under those conditions. ####****-----we almost disbanded before this season began.

The reason I lost was to improve my position in next years draft. It was not an attack on any individual or any kind of cheating....so lets not make this any more than in is please.
If you guys see something wrong with me making a decision based purely on making my best effort to produce a winning team than that is fine.
If I was not trying in every way to compete to the fullest and do all the things necessary and everything in my power to win the Super Bowl every year then I wouldn't be playing...and would not enjoy playing because in the end I would have been there on draft day next year just being constantly reminded that I could have had a better draft spot.....and not only that but for the length that #2 draft picks entire career I would just sit back and say well...maybe I could have had that guy...well guess what, now I don't have to go through all that. I did what was best for my team and I personally am not ashamed.
I would like to play in a league that does not put a coach in such a delima of choosing what he thinks is best for the league competition over what he knows is best for his own team.
So I am for a rule change that has a lottery for the last place teams to get the first several picks with no way of knowing who will get what.
If more than a few want me out of the league then I will respect that and move on.
Has anyone had a similar experience or have an opinion about the best way to move forward?
We do play for a cash reward.
