A Man Needs a Maid - Neil Young (1 Viewer)

Unreal writer, and performer. I don't know of another artist that wears his emotions on his sleeve like Neal. He's had some real turds in the early 80's, but I'd say his greatest albums rival any other singer song writer. Comparing him and Dylan is like comparing apples and oranges. I've always preferred Neal, but to each their own.

For those of you who haven't heard it, Le Noise, was a phenomenal album from 2010 that didn't get that much fanfare.

Also, if you get a chance to see him live, just do it, regardless of cost, you won't be sorry.

Perhaps the two greatest shows I have ever seen. Neil Young with Booker T and the MGs and Neil solo acoustic on guitar and piano

Love that dudee

Yea, this last tour with Promise of the Real was phenomenal. Dude is close to 70, and he still brings it.

I love the music and admire Young for being an artist that, as far as I can tell, always did what he wanted. Great live shows. With Neal's refusal to "sell out" however, also comes extreme inconsistency. He has put out some real crap to be sure. One thing I find interesting is fans' differing views of his lyrics. To me, he's one of those rockers where you just have to enjoy the music and ignore the words. Whenever I take the time to truly listen to what Neal is saying, I find his lyrics range from generic and banal to outright nonsense.
