.....did someone steal his cleats? Did anyone watch the game...did he look as bad as the stats would indicate?

The 49ers were completely selling out to stop him and the O-Line wasn't opening up holes. I don't think he looked "bad" at all, he just was being met by 3-4 guys every time he touched the ball.

Wait I thought this guy was the best RB in the history of the NFL?

Hitting the rookie wall?

AD owners are taking a dirt nap. Nice knowing you.

did he look as bad as the stats would indicate?
Worse if you can believe it. He looked like absolute garbage today. It'll happen to even the best of RBs but obviously Peterson owners didn't want it to happen in such a critical week of the season. He probably killed a lot of fantasy teams with his dog of a game today.

Well, I would think it's hard to run when you're met in the backfield on every play. Peterson got one hole all day and broke a 20 yard run only to have it come back for holding. If you're looking for someone to blame, blame Childress for not calling even ONE screen pass against a defense selling out on every play. Terrible.

The Vikings hardly ever throw to Peterson, though. That wasn't a surprise today. I agree the Niners sold out to stop him but I also thought Peterson ran very tentatively much of the time. He didn't attack the line of scrimmage like he normally does. Bad games happen to the best of RBs. It's just Peterson picked a horrible time to have his worst game of the season.

No from watching the game it seemed where ADP went Willis went and put a good lick on him.
Willis did look to be spying on Peterson every time he was in the game. This worked to stop Peterson, but the middle of the field was wide open for passing all day. If all teams start doing this, Jackson is gonna look like a stud.

I survived the ADP stinker this week in the Omega league...but I sure hope he got that out of his system.

He did pick a horrible time given that it's the playoffs. Lucky MBIII saved my ###. As for attacking the line, you're supposed to hit the hole full speed, but when there is no hole what do you do? Clearly he was tentative, but there was noone but defenders waiting to meet him, what is he supposed to do? Yes, Peterson hasn't been a big part of the passing game, which is why the screen plays would've been very effective. Selling out versus the run + not expecting them to pass to Peterson = big gains. I was dissappointed that they didn't at least try one or two. Even if they didn't work it might've stopped them from completely selling out.

All I know is, between AP/Chester and Henry/Young, Joe and David will be earning their money projecting this crap in the next 3 weeks. Not to mention, who would have thought in September that Fred Taylor is the Jacksonville RB you want at this point in the season!

You guys talking about how horrible the Minny play calling, etc, etc was realize that they won 27-7, right? I doubt they're all that upset right now.

I guess at this point I don't expect Peterson to suddenly become part of the passing game when he's barely been involved there the entire season. And yes, the Niners did a good job against him but the same defensive line was torn up by Taylor. So Peterson doesn't get a break from me with his performance today. He played bad and for his fantasy owners he picked an absolutely horrible time to do so.

Taylor didn't tear them up...he had 1 long carry and thats about it

yeah there were no holes opened up by Minny today

(umm Chester seemed to find one)

disclaimer: owner of both with Chester on bench LOL

That was one more big run than Peterson had. And it was pretty damn impressive. Taylor exploded through the line of scrimmage on that play. Great run.

I won.
3 leagues, all in 1st week of playoffsADP owners are 0-2 and the team he was on in the 3rd league didn't even make the playoffs
Dynasty - 3 ADP owners; 1 had a bye week (top 2 in each conference), one isn't close to the playoffs, but AD is the only guy besides DAnderson he has with value , the other one is me, and playoffs didn't start this week - I would have won anyway. 2/3 ain't bad for one rookie.

It was an impressive run, but it was also a pretty decent hole. ADP would've broken a long one there too, given that hole. Of course, the Niners didn't sell out on that play because Taylor was in. This is the biggest reason I feel they need to exhibit Peterson in the passing game. Get him involved somehow so that defenses can't blitz 8 every time he's in the game.As for the Vikings being happy about the win? Of course, a win is a win. However, this game was won by their defense, not their offense.

This AP owner lost by 12 points. I was lucky to even make the playoffs. I lost sjax, AP, santonio, Roy and Calvin at some point during the season. It just wasn't meant to be this season for me. I also have CP and Braylon in a 12 team league and thought I had a good chance. FFL is 20% skill and 80% luck imo.

Am I wrong, or does it seem like we rarely see GREAT running back performances in San Francisco?

Even Gore's big games in the past seemed to have been on the road. Maybe S.F. is a sloppy field or something.

I think AP is much more dynamic on the quick field turf, though of course his monster game in Chicago was on grass.

Okay, nevermind... just thinking out loud here.

 I realize this is a fantasy football site and I will probably get flamed for this, but here goes:As a AD owner and a huge AD fan that would love to see him win the rushing title I was very upset with his performance today. As a fan of a team that is poised to make a run at the playoffs it was good to see other players step up in his absense. This team is getting hot at the right time and could very much be a sleeper and a scary team going into the playoffs.Just win Vikings!!! :(

Here's my take:

Chester started the game and was in on almost every play it seemed, except for the occasional AD substitution. It almost appeared that they were giving Peterson spot duty to spell Taylor, which I just don't understand. Admitedly, Taylor had only 4 more touches that AD but, he seemed to get alot more PT and was able to work into the flow of the game alot more. Meanwhile, when AD came in, the defense seemed ready to pounce all over the line and overplay the run.

As to Taylor's TD run: he showed good patience and vision, but he didn't look explosive or fast to me at all. He had a fantastic hole open up and then trotted between 3 or 4 blockers the rest of the way.

I'm going to assume that Childress wants Peterson to be out of the game whenever the game is well in hand to keep him healthy. This may be a good strategy when a guy like Taylor can carry the load when needed, but I feel it could come back to haunt him. Peterson needs to get into a flow like any other player, and if he's the stud he's billed to be, you need to put him in the game.

I am in 2 leagues and advanced in both of them....I have depth on my team so I'm not a 1 or 2 man team like some of these Brady/Moss or Romo/Owens teams are.

I'm in a league where you can only carry 3 RBs. When AP went down originally, the speculation was that he was out for the year. So I dropped him for Chester Taylor. Someone picked up ADP. I played that someone in the first round of the playoffs today. I started Chester. He started Peterson.

It was one game. I over-reacted as well. He'll be just fine. A guy doesn't have the kind of season he's had and all of a sudden just stop being that good. Barry had plenty of bad games, too.

I got knocked out of the playoffs this week because of Peterson. I can't believe that he only got 3 yrds vs SF. Here's to 3rd place.

if SF had any kind of offense, they'd be pretty good. The defense is underrated because the offense forces them to be on the field most of the game.

BTW, in dynasty leagues, Peterson probably was drafted by the worst team last year (unless of course, he was traded), if these teams are even making the playoffs, that speaks volumes for him.

Couple of factors. San Fran uses an unusual scheme and blitz from varying angles. They lead the league in tackles for loss.

As to why VIkes were using Taylor, I think it has more to do with blitz pickups then anything else. For supposedly using a west coast scheme, there is limited passing to the backs at this point.

:lmao: at everyone trying to interpret and spin the numbers from this game, let alone trying to compare these two RBs

I always complain when leagues Im in start the playoffs on week 15, but this time Im ecstatic. Peterson would have killed me today, or should I say he did kill me today, but the championship wasnt on the line

I played the Peterson owner this weekend...LT vs. ADP. If he had shown his typical self, I'd be out of the playoffs. Instead, I'm one game closer to the championship!!

I know you don't care but I'm so excited after scraping past the first round I don't care about you not caring.
