In this story: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3153171 detailing A-Rods new contract, a couple quotes paint Boras in a terrible, terrible light. While this is not the focus of the article, it could be a stinging rebuke, in public from a former Boras client. I wonder how this may effect Boras and how players view him.
The quotes:
Rodriguez said opting out was "a mistake that was handled extremely poorly."
"It was a huge debacle," he said, calling the timing "distasteful and very inappropriate."
A-Rod said Boras gave him the impression the Yankees weren't interested in bringing him back, which surprised him.
"Our goals were not aligned," Rodriguez said. "It felt funny to me."
He said he and Boras agreed the slugger would opt out of his deal, but Rodriguez thought the move would be revealed after the World Series.
Goals not aligned, agent going against an agreement with the player (re: timing) and calling that act "distasteful and very inappropriate"
That is some strong language aimed directly at Boras, no? (and fwiw, A-Rod does take full responsibility for the debacle in the article, but it is clear that he is also saying that his agent not only represented him poorly, but actually went far beyond what was appropriate and almost cost his client what his client wanted, big time)
