and I still laugh at those hung up on his pistol first down signal...talk about crying...good lord.
He may have been signaling first down, but he did it by shooting imaginary guns at the opposing team, pretty clearly. Ive been looking everywhere for video or a gif to no avail, but if you can find one please, prove us all wrong.
Here you go. The Gun SlingerETA I don't really think that looks like he's signaling a first down. He was walking back to the huddle when he did it. Looks like he brought a finger gun to a sack fight.
I can't believe anyone is talking about that. It made him look stupid is about all I'd say about it. That was the first time he hit the ground past the line of scrimmage. That's like doing a touchdown dance when you're down by 21 late in the game.

It was before any sack...wasn't it their first offensive play? Not like he had been sacked 6 times already before doing that.

Correct. This was the first play of their first drive. From a Seahawks fan's perspective I say "who cares?" I'm probably more cocky than he is and I do far, far less in my day job. As a matter of fact, I'm going to go run around and do the finger gun before I leave work early today to prep for Vegas...

Double guns is the smooth move. Extra points if you holster them. :)

This part. It was hardly overt or "in your face" - but it seemed to fairly obviously directed at Seatle players. And some of the people saying "He was just signaling a first down" - really? Lot's of over-reaction from one side and lots of turning a blind eye by the other. I guess people see what they want to see.

It's an example.... One of many. I use to like the guy but the little things like that are happening all the time. It seems all the talk about how great he is has got to his head.
Pointing first down with pistol fingers is a sign talk about him being great has gone to his head. And just the talk of it...not the SB MVP or actual MVP awards going to his head...but the talk of it right?Hilarious.
Please read what I'm writing. It's an example....one of many.

Ive seen him do similar things...he barely turns his head...points after it and does it like a shoot the gun.How in the world do you read that as directing it at the players?

I have lost all respect for him. He's a punk that can't own up to the fact he was owned for 4 quarters. He shot a gun after his first scamble and then got it taken to him.
He's right. Packers had a win stolen from them, irregardless of what happened before that play.who you should lose respect for is, Pete Carroll.

I am not a Carroll fan, but seriously? There is not a coach in the league who would not have taken that win.

First, irregardless is not a word. But regardless, this is what happened to keep a GB scoring drive alive in the 4th quater. That was third and two and it should have resulted in a punt. Instead, they got the go-ahead score. Can you please explain, using real words, why that was flagged as PI? That's just as much of a game changer (which means it affected the outcome of the game) as the last bad call.

Oh, I don't know...maybe because you can't tackle the receiver before he has the ball? Start at :37 seconds or so in slo-mo - it's clear he makes contact before the ball gets there. And I love it when guys correct spelling in an online forum. If we were discussing grammar and punctuation and spelling you might have a point, but you're just trying to be condescending instead.

I pretty much ignore people who are mad at the Seahawks because of a ref's call. So.. bye.

I'd love a gif that was the Tate TD catch, the refs signalling TD, and then a shot of Rodgers doing the "gun shooting thing" but instead it's him opening his mouth and blowing his brains out.

Can someone make that one for me?

You mean Jennings "TD" catch and Tate catching Jennings? I'm sure someone can get that for you.

Yeah, but I'm not mad at the Seahawks. But keep twisting yourself into a pretzel to convince yourself that the catch was legitimate.

No - I'm really not. You conceded that he is "shooting the gun" - if it's not directed at the defensive players, who exactly is he shooting at? He aint pointing 'em skyward, like and old western celebratory "Yee Haw!" kind of thing. As I said, it's not obnoxious or egregious - just kinda pointless and silly. It's not really overt enough to "show up" the defense, but seems like a subtle shot at them (no pun intended). I am not sure why you are making a big deal out of it. A lot of NFL players do silly things o "celebrate" a play - some end up being motivation for the other team or fans. I am sure Panther opponents don't love the Cam "super man" move or the Ray Lewis sack thing.

He is pointing up the field...shooting it like a first down signal...its not that difficult to understand. If you really think Rodgers would antagonize a Dline like that early in a game you are freaking nuts.

On top of that too, if he were signalling first down wouldn't he be pointing in the direction of the offense?Anyway, who cares now? They lost. The guns will need to wait to blaze another day.

First, you spelled quarter wrong. Whoever made you the grammar police screwed up.I know about the bad calls before. But we were talking about the last play. A play that apparently was reviewed and still wrong.

This, and Aaron in general, is starting to get under my skin. I almost threw up after the gun shooting after the 1st down run last night.
How do you get through an NFL game if first down celebrations bother you? What about sack dances? Or is it just blind hate towards Rodgers?
What about them? Maybe if he hadn't pulled out his finger pistol they wouldn't have happened. He got discount double checked by Bruce Irvin followed by a BJ Raji.

I don't see what's so  about this?
Obviously he has more of an agenda than someone whose team DIDN'T just get screwed by the refs....but that said, I admire him for saying it. Between this and saying the call was "awful" in his press conference last night, he surely has a hefty fine coming his way.
Agree with the bolded. I don't see what's admirable about it though. He's whining (rightfully so or not), plain and simple
He sees crappy refs and he's not afraid to talk about it. Admirable.
Did he apologize for the crappy play on the packers part?

Thanks for your usual routine of bringing nothing to the table except insults. What was I not watching? That he ran on their first offensive play...got a first down...pointed with pistol fingers up the field?Pretty mcuh was. Also watching as people nitpick off something so tiny in the grand scheme of everything. But thanks for your dynamite drop in...it certainly was much needed.

Packer Fans and Rodgers.... stop  and move on.http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/10/25/league-admits-to-two-touchdown-errors-in-sunday-night-game/Thanks.
Whats great is you keep saying this in every thread...Packer fans are not crying...in this thread...others are crying about Rodger's "gun shot".And you keep coming back to everyone of these threads and have yet to really provide anything of substance to any of them. (pretty normal for you it seems).
