I thought that was an overthrow by Rodgers, I don't remember a big drop by GJ.The biggest one being the one Jennings dropped in OT against Arizona.
That was not a catch-able ball. Amazing that he led the league in that, heck of a QB.I thought that was an overthrow by Rodgers, I don't remember a big drop by GJ.The biggest one being the one Jennings dropped in OT against Arizona.
For all the hype he gets, in the end, he may be the next Derrick Mayes.Referring to Jones here.James Jones led the team in drops, with Driver next (but not as bad for him due to more ops).... one of the reasons that I feel Jordy Nelson is the long term play here and why I traded for him in dynastythat said, Jones had 3.5 catches for every drop (yuck!), Jordy had 7.33 catches for every drop, Driver had 8.75 catches for every drop, Jennings had 17.5 catches for every drop
No, I don't think he touched it. Rolle completely blew the coverage (of course), and Jennings was wide open but overthrown by Rodgers.I thought he got a hand on it. I could be wrong. Seems like an eternity ago already.
Not exactly a murderer's row there. To be fair, Rodgers also was 2nd in the league in drop backs according to that website. If you look at dropped passes per dropback, Rodgers ranks 5th behind JaMarcus Russell (9.4%), Kerry Collins (9.4), Derek Anderson (9.3) and Matt Cassel (7.4), with Shaun Hill (7.3), Brady Quinn (6.8) and Matt Stafford and Matt Bulger (6.8 each) right on his heels (Rodgers is at 7.3).
I don't see many folk calling it the best wr group in the league. The more pass attempts you have the more drop opportunities you have.Something doesn't fit here.If the WR's are "that good" or the "best WR group in the league"andRodgers is "the best" or "one of the best QB's in the game"They shouldn't be near the top of the NFL in drops.Either the WR core is overrated or Rodgers misses on more passes than his bandwagon likes to admit.I personally think it's a little of both.
There are many that like him that aren't part of your bandwagon. Much of the problem was protection and will improve this year. It's hard to be accurate when you're getting hit and sacked.Something doesn't fit here.

Nelson had 31 targets last year and caught 22, Jones had 63 targets and 32 receptions. The year before Nelson had 54 targets and 33 catches, Jones had 30 and 20 just about the opposite.Looks like Driver isn't ready to retire.James Jones led the team in drops, with Driver next (but not as bad for him due to more ops).... one of the reasons that I feel Jordy Nelson is the long term play here and why I traded for him in dynastythat said, Jones had 3.5 catches for every drop (yuck!), Jordy had 7.33 catches for every drop, Driver had 8.75 catches for every drop, Jennings had 17.5 catches for every drop

7.3 catches for every drop? How do you figure? He had 31 throws and 22 catches so about 2 catches for every miss.UTLonghorn31 said:James Jones led the team in drops, with Driver next (but not as bad for him due to more ops).... one of the reasons that I feel Jordy Nelson is the long term play here and why I traded for him in dynastythat said, Jones had 3.5 catches for every drop (yuck!), Jordy had 7.33 catches for every drop, Driver had 8.75 catches for every drop, Jennings had 17.5 catches for every drop
The shark pool had a thread on it before the season last year and they were hyped more than the Arizona WR'sWinky the tunnel ferret said:I don't see many folk calling it the best wr group in the league. When I used to chart drops I called almost everyone that hit a hand and not caught a drop. Now if it was a stretched out one that barely hit a hand then I didn't. If the balls were chest level with both hands hitting the football everytime...I have a feeling that isn't all of the drops we're talking about here. Meaning if Rodgers was more accurate it wouldn't happen....or if the WR's were quicker out of breaks....got more separation from defenders...lots of factors come into the equation. But Rodgers being more accurate is one of them. They don't call them drops when Rogers misses.benson_will_lead_the_way said:Something doesn't fit here.If the WR's are "that good" or the "best WR group in the league"andRodgers is "the best" or "one of the best QB's in the game"They shouldn't be near the top of the NFL in drops.Either the WR core is overrated or Rodgers misses on more passes than his bandwagon likes to admit.I personally think it's a little of both.
So because I'm a realist that doesn't blame protection for much of the problem makes me a hater? Rodgers held the ball waaay too much at the beginning of the season. He also misses on a lot of deep balls that would've made the offense much more efficient. Now that could be the WR's fault as well....who knows.cr8f said:There are many that like him that aren't part of your bandwagon. Much of the problem was protection and will improve this year. This year he is working hard to get better.
Part of the problem might be you are going off of preseason thoughts by some people of the WR corps.Meanwhile, what actually happened was Jennings was invisible early in the year, Driver started hot, but cooled down and his drops were not great. So because I'm a realist that doesn't blame protection for much of the problem makes me a hater?
