But I disagree with you about never protecting yourself n1. Hulk was outed on d1. He was the only outed ggrp and the most likely kill target. I can believe that he didn't protect himself n1, but then to protect someone else on n2, too? That's pretty ballsy, but if it's true, it didn't work out too good.
Is it a given the he was able to protect himself?
No, but most angels can. I tried to get him to clarify his claim a little, and he said his powers were "pretty standard".
For your benefit, and the other noobs, angels are good guys who can protect people. In most games, that means that you can protect one person per night. Sometimes that protection carries over into the following day but not necessarily. It never protects you from being lynched. And you can't protect the same person on back to back nights, unless someone tries to kill the person you protected, which is what we call a wham. Usually a wham will be written up in the night report, and sometimes, but not always, the angel will know that they had a wham because they can protect the same person again.
Hulk is the kind of guy who works out all those angles, so I would expect him to tell us if that were the case, which he didn't, even though he was acting fairly confident that he'd gotten the wham. That's one of several reasons I think he was bluffing about protecting Sinn on n1. I think he protected himself, and then couldn't protect himself again on n2, so he told the village that he had protected someone else, and made up something about there being more than one angel in case the bad guys had really shot at him on n1 and been whammed. It's a good move imo.
