This is a fair estimate. I don't see Addai being a 300+ touch back. As for the concern, in a redraft, there should be almost none. He will still manage top 10 numbers with fewer touches, especially in PPR leagues. My concern comes in dynasty leagues when his rookie deal expires. If he wants big money, Indy might let him walk, as he really isn't a world-beating talent.Rhodes knows their system
Adddai seems unable to carry a full load
Rhodes looked good at the end of 2007
I'm thinking this may translate into a 2/3 Addai, 1/3 Rhodes distribution.
Anyone else have this concern when drafting Addai?
Which is standard for every RB in the NFL.As an Addai owner (which I'm not) I wouldn't be worried at all. A good backup helps him.Rhodes will absolutely get some action. He was very solid in his last stint with the Colts, and hasn't put on a whole lot of mileage since then.I also see a 2/3 / 1/3 scenario, or something close.
He's signed for 3 more years anyways. Can't see looking out much farther than that in a dynasty for a RB.This is a fair estimate. I don't see Addai being a 300+ touch back. Hart would not clear waivers, he will not be on the practice squad.Rhodes is solid insurance for Addai & will perform well if anything happens to Addai.Hart is not a threat to Rhodes in 2008. He's more likely to be on the PS.

Hart will probably be at the end of the bench.I don't see him as a threat to steal carries.MAC_32 said:Hart would not clear waivers, he will not be on the practice squad.Craig_MiamiFL said:Rhodes is solid insurance for Addai & will perform well if anything happens to Addai.Hart is not a threat to Rhodes in 2008. Not sure about that, but he's not a threat for 2008 regardless.MAC_32 said:Hart would not clear waivers, he will not be on the practice squad.Craig_MiamiFL said:Rhodes is solid insurance for Addai & will perform well if anything happens to Addai.Hart is not a threat to Rhodes in 2008. Very true...teams out there that are not doing a 2/3 - 1/3 ratio...if not 50 - 50. We are just seeing the position evolve into a more fresh and loaded backfields. 5 years ago every team had their go-to-guy. Now it is the more dispersed...get used to it.teamroc said:Which is standard for every RB in the NFL.As an Addai owner (which I'm not) I wouldn't be worried at all. Really? He had over 300 touches last year in only 15 games.JPeso said:This is a fair estimate. I don't see Addai being a 300+ touch back. I don't think I've ever seen him do that in the NFL. Addai is a team player, and I'm still trying to figure out what's behind all the hate on these boards. Addai is a top-5 NFL RB talent. He does so many things well and makes them all look very easy. Sure he's on a team with a great offense, but last year he ran behind one of the worst OLs and still put up good numbers, while injured. What does the guy need to do?Did anyone watch the NFL Network during the Draft when the commentators gave Addai the nickname of "tap out"? They gave him that name because he would tap his chest to come out after a couple of good runs. I thought it was funny, but I think they are right. Addai is not a workhorse back, but offers upside so he does not need as many touches.
Really that was more like 13 games. He played about 1 quarter of the Houston game and 1 series of the Titans game at the end of the year.Really? Yeah, but we all know the naysayers will count it as a full game played if he put his jock strap on that dayReally that was more like 13 games. It was Jamie Dukes, take it up with him. And, if there is not Addai to the degree you have does not mean hate for him.I don't think I've ever seen him do that in the NFL. Jeff, I can buy people saying a number of things to knock Addai. When I refer to the "hate" he gets on the boards, it's the stubborn refusal to give him ANY credit for his accomplishments that I've seen from numerous people. It's the system, it's his situation, it's Peyton Manning, etc. How many times do people say "he really doesn't have talent"? If he didn't have talent he wouldn't be in the NFL, he wouldn't have been a first round pick by a team that EXCELS in spotting talent. All he has done is break 1,000 yards ever season he played. Yet people are always knocking him. No one wants to give him credit... yet far lesser talents get hyped and hyped and hyped. So, I feel justified in saying there is some definite "hate" for Joseph Addai on these boards. It's not the "if I see him I want to kill him" type of hate, but it's the "I refuse to acknowledge he is any good, and will look for a flaw in everything he does just to knock him down a notch" type of hate. And, if there is not Addai to the degree you have does not mean hate for him.
Fewer touches? Is that really realistic considering he missed one game and they rested him extensively last season?JPeso said:As for the concern, in a redraft, there should be almost none. I am neither a "hater" or a "bandwagon member" for Addai. He is one guy I am pretty indifferent on. I see his flaws and his good qualities. I think Addai has talent, but there are issues he must overcome. I was impressed he made it through last season without much injury, but I want to see it again. Durability (for a couple of years) and YPC are the major hurdles I want to see him prove. He plays in a good system and has a lot of things going for him.You can say what you want, but Jamie Dukes really did say that. In fact, he went on for at least three minutes ... Dukes is a funny guy and even showed footage.Jeff, I can buy people saying a number of things to knock Addai. Hey Switz, Keep in mind that he's only played 2 years, so rushing EVERY year he's played for over 1,000 yards is only so impressive of an argument. He also hasn't rushed for 1100 yards before nor carried the ball 275 or more times in a season. So, it's very likely he's not a 300 a year rusher type back, making me believe that he definately benefits from the system he is in.Jeff, I can buy people saying a number of things to knock Addai.
