Addai clear #1 (1 Viewer)

Addai should be the clear #1 moving forward for Indy. His power and 2nd effort were evident today. While it's nice to have another back take some carries, I would expect Addai to start next week at NE.

Although he looks much better than Rhodes I seriously doubt it. Dont fix whats not broken and theyre 7-0 using the RBBC.

He's doing much better than some of the predictions that he'd be like Arrington.

Today it wasn't RBBC. Rhodes had 3 carries for no yards and a few receptions. Addai had over 20 touches and 130 yards of offense. In a huge game like that against a very tough defense on the road, that tells me the coaching staff has a lot of confidence in him.If Addai would have 80% of the combined production between he and Rhodes right now, he'd be firmly inside the top 10 among RBs. If today is any indication, Addai might very valuable down the stretch.

He's also much better at creating after the catch than Rhodes. Rhodes has his stengths, but Addai is much more explosive and seems to me to have better vision.

The split in touches was 22-6 Addai this week... the RBBC is perhaps fading away.... Plus, Addai is on the field at the end (when it counts)... IMHO Dungy and Peyton are beginning to trust Addai. In dynasty formats, your window to aquire him is closing (got him and Housh for Tiki in week 2  oh yeah.. i'm in last place due to trading preseason for Reggie Bust :bag:

They would have lost today if they split the workload evenly today. I give the Colts' coaching staff credit for seeing what was happening and playing Addai most of the game. Addai needs to play most of the game next week to have any chance at all of defeating NE.

Actually - the predictions said Addai would be WORSE than Arrington. (JJ Arrington Jr.) He's already surpassed Arrington's rookie year in total rushing yards - at at much better yards per carry.

I was also impressed with Addai's ability to deal with Manning's check-offs and changes at the LOS today. Denver crowd is loud, and Addai seemd on the same page with Manning, including picking up some blitzes and providing nice dump-off opps for Peyton. Next week will be great. Let's start the thread soon!

@NE next week for a rookie showdown with Maroney.

When I finally see a player play, and get a feel for his talent, I make a quick judgement of whether or not I think he'd be a good fantasy player long term. The reason is I've been in a dynasty league for 14 years and I look at all these players that I target on a long term basis. Based on what I saw today, the kid has "it", and I'd definitely target him in that system for the next 5-6 years barring injury.

So what do you guys think of his outlook for the rest of THIS year? Will he be a good RB1? A good RB2? Might be a good idea to trade your current RB1 or RB2 to upgrade somewhere else if you think you can put Addai into your lineups.

That's exactly the position I am in. I am thinking of whether to trade Parker for an upgrade at WR, where I'm weak, and hope Addai or Lundy perform well enough for the rest of the year to be my #2 RB, LT is my #1. I'm thinking one of those 2 will, at least.

Dungy, on Colts.com, was still claiming that Rhodes will start and they will still split the carries. I hope this is just coachspeak.

With LT as your #1 I wouldve done this a long time ago. Even splitting carries Addai is a solid RB2.

addai, were it not for ythe mistaken mention of his surname, would clearly be numeto uno on the Colts footballsquad. Shifty and sneaky, he's clearly mthe best option when it counts, and when it means most. If I'm the Colts I make him permamnent number one runninung back and place Rhoodes onthe second squad.

I am in the same situatio exactly. I have LT , Parker, Addai and am looking to move Parker.

I was firmly in Rhodes' camp before the season. I thought he would produce far better numbers than Addai. Well, I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong. Addai is unquestionably the better player in this offense. I don't know if he is better than I thought he was, or if Rhodes is worse than I thought.

Probably both.

Now that Verron Haynes is out for the year, Parker may pickup 3rd down back as well, making me re-evaluate the situation. If Parker starts getting receptions (I'm in a PPR league) he could become a top 5 back.

Addai has looked great the past two weeks. Kid is explosive, hits the hole hard, is shifty, and has solid vision. He has also been absolute money for the Colts receiving the ball.I have no question that he'll continue to get more and more touches until Rhodes is almost entirely supplanted. The Colts offense, overall, is juts a whole lot more effective when Addai is in the game. Don't think the coaching staff is missing this important point...

:goodposting: I agree. But didn't Rhodes have over a hundread combined yards a few weeks ago and looked very good doing it? I agree Addai is the better player, but Rhodes when given extensive work like Addai was given at Denver has shown he can ball as well.

Addai is the Colts workhorse of the future, and it is quite clear now. I did not believe in Addai at all but the kid has proven a lot of us wrong. Rhodes though still has value in Dynasty leagues. Who's to say he does not catch on somewhere else, or if Addai get's hurt he can step in and get good numbers. If I were an Addai owner I would look to get Rhodes as a solid handcuff in that offense.

Rhodes looked good against the Jets and Titans. Not so much in the other 4 games (2.3 yards/carry in the other 4 games). I think that speaks to the Jets and Titans being softer on defense than most teams more than any other factor.
