Addai/Hart-Status (1 Viewer)

I just dropped Hart for Lynch...

So w/ my luck I'm sure Hart will end up starting on Sunday.

But I hate having to wait until gameday to find out.

Do you think Addai is good to target for the playoffs
They dropped Andre Brown after having signed him when the injury bug bit. That tells me that they don't think Addai is going to be out too much longer and/or they are comfortable with Donald Brown and Hart filling in.

not sure why people are assuming Hart is ahead of Brown. Donald was limited the night that Hart was running ahead of him. Not sure that is enough evidence

And what's the deal with Javarris James? After his two TDs last week, where does he stack up now in Indy?
Is Javarris James the better play than Donald Brown this week... and moving forward?
A question I wish I knew the answer to. Cinci doesn't give up many rushing TD's, like two YTD IIRC. Right now, it seems that is James' role, short yardage and GL. I've read that if he responds to a crash course on blitz pickups, he could be a bigger part of the rotation this week. Starting James is taking the chance that Indy has some GL opportunities, and that the Bengals D gets uncharacteristically soft at the GL. James could be value if Brown re-injures the hamstring with a heavy workload. I don't think that either Addai or Hart will be active.

I have zero confidence in Addai, he has said he thinks he can return this week but with his history that means he will probably miss another 3 games. When Addai gets hurt it drags on and on every time.

I really wish teams would be accurate in reporting injuries. It is hard to imagine that it gives them that much of an advantage and it would sure be nice for millions of their fans to know the truth.

I understand where you're coming from but when Addai was hurt there was a report from NFL Network saying he was going to be out several weeks. While that isn't a specific time frame it strongly indicated Addai was going to miss a fair share of games.

Yeah I know, I never expected him back or anything I am just saying even now that he is saying this week is a possibility and the Colts targeting this week, I still have almost no confidence in those reports

From a different thread:

Per Rotoworld

Austin Collie (concussion) is not expected to practice Thursday, and his status for Week 11 is in question.

Collie, Mike Hart (ankle), Joseph Addai (shoulder), and LB Clint Session (forearm) were all missing from the Colts locker room early Thursday afternoon. Phil Wilson of the Indy Star doubts that any of them will play at New England. Coach Jim Caldwell indicated that Collie may be cleared for practice, but he's not yet cleared for game action. Caldwell did say that Blair White (shoulder) looked good Wednesday, so he has a shot to start in the slot. Nov. 18 - 1:10 pm et
FYI if anyone, like me, is thinking about riding Brown or James for another week.

(Rotoworld) Joseph Addai (shoulder) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. Analysis: It's no surprise that Addai was upgraded after participating in pre-practice drills Wednesday. At this point, he appears to be headed toward a game-day decision, which is problematic for fantasy owners considering the Colts play on Sunday night. Donald Brown's fantasy window appears to be shutting for 2010.

First time practicing since the injury. If he participates today he probably has a good chance of playing. If he partially participates today then maybe he is a game time decision with a 50/50 shot of playing.

Even if he does play: do they ease him back in, or put him right back in the role he had before injury? Will he be healthy enough to take as large of a role as he had before the injury for the rest of the year?

I think if he does play it is reasonable to expect a greater split between Addai and Brown, at least this week. Maybe 12 carries for Addai, and he'll probably get the goal line looks. Owners need to be hoping that he can eventually be healthy enough to resume the role he had before injuries, then he could be a nice late season or playoff boost for some teams who may be trying to scrap RB production together week to week.

I've read this mistake several times in various reports (not all related to Addai), but the Giants-Eagles is the Sudany Night game.

Hadn't even noticed. I just copied and pasted. It still poses issues for fantasy owners if Addai is a game-time decision.

When they play the Patriots, the Colts play all of the players who can be reasonably effective. My guess is that we'll see Addai, Collie, Blair White, Tamme, and Hayden all give it a go on Sunday. Maybe a few more, but Mike Hart looks to be healing up for the Dec. 9 Titans game. It's anybody's guess how much work they'll give Addai on Sunday, but I would be surprised to see him get more than 8-12 touches.
