Adele (1 Viewer)

Man I'd love to roll around nude with her, covered in baby oil and hundreds. Then maybe split a few racks of ribs, do a little online shopping, etc.

Her album sold 3.38 million copies its first week. Most ever. Suck on that alice in chains
Alice In Chains didn't have the housewife/lemmings/homosexual/etc. following that Adele has.
yeah, 12 year old girls dont listen to alice in chains...

adele is currently at roughly 17 million albums sold.

tons of bands ahead of her.

If you honestly think adele has more talent than Alice in Chains...you do not know anything about music.

and thats fine. Ill continue to listen to talented musicians...who can stay on pitch during live concerts.

lastly, this song lyrically destorys any song co-written by adele.

Never before or since have keyboards been used so effectively in rock. This track, "Headed for a Heartbreak", is from Winger's self-titled debut album and was their highest-charting single. It's easy to see why. It's a devastating take on a love affair slowly flickering away like the final embers in the fireplace of your heart. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this song hits a new peak of professionalism. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Roth, Winger, Morganstein and Beach. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument.

i love alice in chains...man i wish i had seen them live. That being said, adele has a great voice as well. Styles are way too different to compare imo.

When her music comes on the radio I'm like never mind, I'll find another station. What the hell is wrong with you guys? Getting emotional listening to some top 40 chick music? Get it together. Those songs aren't for you, they're for 14 year old girls.
She's talented for sure but her songs are pedestrian and forgetable.

Curious what you think of Sia's Chandelier.
Not a fan of her vocal styling.

Kip was in Alice Cooper's band prior to winger. He also scored a ballet for which he received some recognition. Far from a winger fan but they really took a lot of crap from the Beavis and butthead Stuart shirt rip. I believe they put an album out as recently as last year.

Big AiC fan...lanye had a haunting voice...also blended really good with Jerry's

One of the Winger guys said the Beavis & Butthead thing instantly destroyed their career. One day their album and ticket sales suddenly dried up and they were dropped from radio. Sounds identical to what happened when MTV debuted Billy Squier's gay video. Makes me laugh though I probably shouldn't.

That's BS. Beavis and Butthead debuted in 1993. Hair metal was pretty much on life support at that point and Winger's days were numbered regardless. They did try to reinvent their sound in '93, but the album big time flopped in comparison to their previous two releases. That is attributable more to the questionable music than to B&B in my opinion.

Good point, I wasn't aware of the timing. This is the quote from Wikipedia, obviously bs:
So we released the record and went out on the road and that's when the floor fell out from under us practically overnight. Some guy came to the bus with a copy of Beavis and Butt-head and in it they hung a nerd up by his underwear while he wore his Winger T-shirt. They went to his house, and his loser family (including the dog) were all wearing Winger T-shirts. That week people stopped coming to our shows and record sales came to a screeching halt. "Down Incognito" was taking off at radio when DJs just dropped it from their playlists because they were too embarrassed to have their station associated with it. A month later I called Atlantic Records and they had never heard of Winger.
Yeeeeah, I'm sure the new Winger track was burning up the airwaves alongside Nirvana and Pearl Jam.Glad I could turn this into the Winger thread BTW.

Not sure what the draw is. She sounds like she smokes about 3 packs a day. She's not hot. Is she like "women's lib" or something?

Joplin, Billie Holiday and Aretha wouldn't stand a chance in today's music scene - way too ugly and fat to sell any records.
Adele is refuting that fact. Not overly pretty. And certainly not thin. Her songs and voice are responsible for her success. And whether you like her material or not, that's refreshing to see.

Went to buy tickets this morning to an August concert here in PHX for my daughter's 15th bday.....ridiculous. Over $500 for 2 of the worst seats
