ADP for MVP? (1 Viewer)

Could ADP get both the Rookie of the Year award and the League MVP? What would it take to dethrone Tom Brady? I guess Randy Moss is in the mix for MVP, anyone else?

The conversation starts and ends with Brady, I don't think there is anything anyone could do to change that.

What has AP done that has been greater than what Tom Brady has done? Brady has led his team to a perfect record through 9 weeks while breaking records in the process. The team might go 16-0. There is no question Brady will get it. Moss' season has been better than Petersons too.

His team is 3-5. So no.
Yeah, but they are 0-8 without Peterson. They wouldn't have won a game without him this year, he's their only offensive threat. The fact that the Patriots have two guys on offense warranting MVP votes shows that he should be in the discussion.Does that mean he wins it? No, Brady is gonna win it by a large margin.

I think barring injury ADP is a lock for Rookie of the Year, but unless something changes drastically, it will be a Brady for MVP type season. I think he will get it even if his numbers are "normal" the rest of the season.

I think he has a case. Brady is loaded with weapons all along the offense. He's having a great season, but I don't think what he's done is as impressive as what Peterson has done.

If Peterson breaks the all time rushing mark, he should get the hardware hands down.

My question is what if Brady does slow down and misses breaking the TD record or just barely breaks it and ADP breaks the single season rushing record(He's nearly halfway there and now he's the starter)? The rushing record seems to be harder to break than the passing record(since it's held longer).

 You beat me to it.

And without Brady...Cassel throws an interception for a TD against Miami...one of the worst teams in the league.

Brady. AD is damned good though.

Yeah, but without Moss, NE doesn't come back against Indy. I don't think you can discount ADP yet.

Tony M F N Romo.

Brady will not finish out the season. (And no I don't "want" him to get hurt.)

OK, lets just say Brady is playing the Bills in two weeks and they get up by a good margin. Coach B doesn't take Brady out in the 4th quarter and he throws a TD pass to run up the score like he has been. Then all of a sudden.......... WHACK!!! Brady gets his leg broken cause Triplett "accidentally" puts his helmet to Brady's knee.

Meanwhile ADP goes on to break the rookie rushing record, and possibly the single season rushing record. I think he can win it then. Take out what Brady has done this year and what ADP is doing is definitley worthy of an MVP.

Favre has got to receive consideration. The Packers are 7-1. They have no running game. Take Favre away from that team and they would be lucky to be 3-5 right now, despite how well their defense has played.

This is why I love Cowboys fans. DELUSIONAL!Seriously, great discussion. I think my bigger question is, would the league honor a rookie in that way? MVP is almost a Lifetime achievement award in addition to a great season.

I actually think Farve may win it....poor Peter King's brown nose might explode if he had to choose between Favre and Brady....

Yeah, I think Adrian is the most important player to his team, but no way he wins it over Brady with his perfect record and stats.

Rules to Live By When It Comes To MVP Results:

- The best player on the best team usually wins

- Winners almost always come from teams at or near the best record

- Winners almost always come from teams with the best record in their conference

- Winners almost always come from teams with winning records

- Record breakers on losing teams and players on non-playoff teams don't get much love

- QB have won the award way more than any other position

- A WR has never won the official MVP award

If you look at that, unless the sky is falling, Brady will win the MVP, both for what he and the Pats are doing this year, but also as a lifetime achievement award.

ADP is having a great season, but Eric Dickerson and Jamal Lewis rank #1 and #2 in rushing yards in a season and were not MVPs. Priest Holmes set the scoring record and got no love for MVP either.

So the Shark Pool can't even have a discussion about Adrian Peterson without ####ting on Brady and the Pats?

:moneybag:

 Brady's probably a lock for MVP, but if Peterson breaks the all time rushing mark then we will probably see a dual MVP ala Favre and Barry Sanders back in the day.
