Facing Eli, sans the starting center and their outstanding LB (after injuries), the Pats only managed a late 3 pt. victory? Feeling very excited about a rematch with this team. A healthy TG and defense should be just enough for a Lombardi.

Sorry to break it to you, but if the Patriots have extra time to prepare it will be twice as worse of a beating as the first time. No team in the playoffs/Superbowl comes within 21 points of this juggernaut.

Personally I think the stress of trying to go 16-0 was weighing heavily on the Patriots. Now that the deed is done, that huge weight will be lifted off of them and they will roll everyone in the playoffs.

I must've watched a different Dallas/NE game earlier this year. NE was holding out their entire right side of the line and the Giants used that to get to Brady more than usual. Unless they have that many linemen out IF you meet them in AZ, I wouldn't start polishing your trophy just yet. Besides, Seattle's dumping you out of the playoffs again this year, if Dallas even makes it to the NFC Championship.

It will take someone's best punch to beat the Pats. That said, it can be done. I think that Jax, Indy, GB?Dal is a tough road for NE.

Not sure you should feel very excited about an Owens-less Dallas team trying to make it there. Better hope he's still a quick healer. I can't think of any NFC playoff teams that the Cowboys would "definitely" beat. Every NFC game looks like a toss-up to me.

They did it. Tremendous accomplishment. But their backers must be getting at least a little concerned with the trouble they've had beating mediocre teams in the last 6 or 7 weeks. 16-0 is great but I'm not sure they're exactly peaking right now. Hanging on might be a better description.

In my view, you couldn't be more wrong. I actually came into this rooting for NYG but thought, hmm "if they lose here, the Patriots will refocus and be even more determined to win the SB". Now, the relief of winning this game may promote complacency. Albeit, just a little with that coach, but it is possible.

Sadly, this is a good posting.
You're deluded.
We'll know in another month or so. I think this was the one game they played "tight" this year, and it would've bit them in the behind if they were playing a good team.

Actually it's the opposite. These teams are treating a game against the Pats like it's the Super Bowl. These have not been your normal regular season games. Due to that the Pats are probably better prepared to play playoff football because they've basically been doing it for close to two months.

Yup....they have 3 games left against quality opponents who will be gunning for them the whole way.

:lmao: How many playoff quality teams has NE faced in the last 2 months? Pitt and NYG? TIA, I'll hang up and listen...

I love how everyone is forgetting the Seahawks. Good times. :lmao:
Do you actually remember last year?! Please. The Seahags are, and always will be, a joke. The Cowboys were half the team they were last year and should have won that game.
The Seahawks beat the Cowboys in the playoffs last year. glllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

llllllllll

Nice knowledge of the game. You are promoted postumusly. :lmao:

The Boys don't have 3 pro bowl caliber DEs
Maybe not, but they have 5 better then average DEs.
They didn't pressure Brady enough in their first meeting. The few teams that have played the Pats well all got to Brady so I'm figuring that's a key
They couldn't afford to with the secondary. Blitzes up the ##### is what you could expect IF the Dallas secondary is healthy, which is wasn't before. GET IT.

Okay, if squeaking by Eli 38-35 gets them ready for playoff football I'm sure big brother is licking his chops :lmao:

Who's in the playoffs that can beat them? They've already proven that the Colts, Steelers and Cowboys are no trouble. Who does that leave? The Bucs?

DId you not watch the Indy and Dallas games? Calling them "no trouble" is, frankly, either ignorant or indicative of working in your yard while the rest of us were wathcing football.

I'm not quite sure what your post means other than taking a shot at the Pats. They have played two playoff teams in the last three weeks. Yet, my point had nothing to do with that. It was that regardless of the opponent they were playing in a far different atmosphere than normal regular season games. If you think teams like Philly and Baltimore were playing with the same intensity every week this year than I must have been watching different games than you.

What? Yeah, I remember. Do you have any perception of things besides the obvious. I implied that you KNEW that the Cowboys lost, BUT it was on a last second play from a team that was half as motivated, directed and focused as this year's team.

If going 16-0 weighed heavily on them then i hate to see the burden of having to 19-0 will be.Go 18-0 and lose in the Super Bowl? Thats gotta suck.If things like that actually affect players of this game.

Willing to back that up? :hophead: I get 21 points in EACH game the Pats play in the playoffs/SB...the pats win by 22 in each game then you win $100 and if they fail to win every game by 22 or more then i win $100(not a per game bet)

"Taking a shot at the Pats" :hophead: Maybe I did a bad job explaining my point, or maybe you did. Either way, it remains as such: the Patriots are no better "prepared" for the playoffs then the Colts, Jags, etc. I'll leave it to someone else to decide if they'll be more or less tense in the playoffs, but I can assure you that nothing the Patriots have done in the last 17 weeks is going to prepare them any more for the playoffs then they would be anywya. This idea that, "we made it to 16-0! We're prepared and calm!" is ridiculous. They'll be playing 3 of the best football teams in the NFL and while their coaching and gameplan may give them an advantage, and their 4th quarter comebacks will give them some confidence, nothing that has transpired tonight or prior is going to make this one iota easier on them.

Of course not. I'll rephrase for the English majors out there...No team in the playoffs/Superbowl SHOULD come within 21 points of this juggernaut.

I think every team in the playoffs approaches each game seriously. It's pretty rare that a team that has homefield throughout the playoffs locked up plays the final game like a playoff game. The Patriots will approach the Superbowl just like they would if they ended the season 12-4. This game against the Giants had a playoff game intensity, which they will bring against whatever jabroni the league throws at them a couple of weeks from now.

Romo and Owens need to be healthy but the Cowboys can definitely give the Pats a run. That would be one heck of a matchup the second time around.

I think the Packers vs Pats would be an entertaining game too, lots of air miles.

Now we know. Bad Cowboys fans are as bad as it gets.
PHI fans would be offended that you snubbed them of this distinction.
One of my best buddies is a Cowboys fan and probably the best fan of sports I know. We have talked about these tools before and I actually feel sorry for him as a fan because I've been to a Redskins/Cowboys game. Cowboys have some super fans, and they have some fans that I wouldn't piss on. Phiily fans are strange but real. They are obnoxious but I always liked the heart.
