Against which major league pitcher ... (1 Viewer)

Devil's Advocate
I could be a tough guy and say Neftali Feliz, but I'd never touch him if I had 100 swings.

So I'll say Tim Wakefield.

It looks like it would be SO easy to hit him, but obviously it's not.

When I saw the thread title first person I thought was Wakefield.

I don't think I'd worry to much about him killing me if he happened to miss the strike zone.

The guy on the mound right now, Jamie Moyer, might be another option. I think he tops out at 82.

Back in the day, I went to a baseball camp and we got to take a few hacks against Bert Blyleven. His curve ball started at your head and could drop OUTSIDE. After bailing out big time on a couple of pitches, I fouled one off and then hit a flair down the right field line. My knees were buckling and I was getting no stride into the ball at all.

I don't care who gives me the best chance to hit it, I just want to see what a 102 mph fastball looks like.

A friend of mine is good friends with RA Dickey and an ex-college catcher. He caught RA for 15-20 minutes last year....with a catchers mitt...and had a bruised hand for a few days. Getting plunked would hurt plenty

Although a knuckleballer would be fun, I would go with someone with a big time curve like Kershaw. I just want to see a 95 fastball followed by a head to toe curve. I wouldn't be able to hit anything, I just would want to experience it.

I don't think it would be all that fun to have a 95+ mph pitch flying past my head.

Lincecum. I'm going to fail either way so I might as well take on one of the best.

If I had to hit a home run, I'll go late career Frank Tanana or Tim Belcher. Enough hop to help you keep up your end of the bargain, but not overpowering.

If I wanted to face stuff, I'd want to just see Koufax's curve or Rivera's cut fastball, not expecting to hit them, but just to see their action and how impossible it might be to touch them.
