Ahmad Bradshaw (Update: Signs 4-year Deal with Giants) (1 Viewer)

I really think D. Williams signing for so much money has held up the Bradshaw signing. He has to look at that and wonder how someone 3 years older, who has had ONE great year, is worth more than him. If another team shows real interest in him, he's going to go where the money is. I'd be curious to know what the Giants are offering. If it's fair market value, Bradshaw would be a fool not to sign. He will have a better career with the Giants than almost any team in the league, and should have one more big contract left in him. I think that's something he should take into consideration before signing with another team for a few more bucks.
If I'm GM of an NFL franchise I'd offer DeAngelo Williams a much, much larger contract than I would Bradshaw. The two are not close in terms of talent.

As I told Ahmad Bradshaw here earlier: the jig is up. FA RB Jason Snelling headed here for a visit with the Giants, source says.

If the Bengals and Skins were actually interested in Bradshaw, it looks like they weren't willing to beat the Giants offer or it wasn't enough to get Bradshaw to sign. I think they wait till Aug. 3 till they sign to see if they get a better offer.

Bradshaw's agent couldn't sell lemonade to a thristy desert walker. Several teams could really use his service. None seem willing to pay the price and it doesn't seem to be close.

Probably trying to get a D. Will type offer since Bradshaw's represented by Drew Rosenhaus.

This is very interesting. I would love to see Snelling as a Giant.

I would too, could be the next Ward and he's played some FB so he'd be a good change of pace for UDFA "Hyno The Rhino"

Giants agreed to terms with RB Ahmad Bradshaw. The Giants' running back rotation will return intact. Bradshaw, 25, shopped himself around in hopes of breaking the bank, but found his market soft after four lower-leg surgeries over the past two offseasons. Bradshaw is coming off a breakout season, having set career highs in carries (276), yards (1,235), and touchdowns (8) as the lead back in New York's offense. Bradshaw is unlikely to match his workload from yesteryear, but should still hover around 250 rushing attempts as a rock-solid RB2. Brandon Jacobs will remain the powerful change-of-pace back and probable favorite for goal-line carries.Related: Brandon JacobsSource: Mike Garafolo on Twitter
As someone who just trade for Bradshaw, I... think I'm happy?

Be happy.Best scenario for him has always been re-upping with NY. He really fits that scheme well, knows the offense, is utilized with regularity as a pass receiver, etc. etc. Even with Jacobs in the picture he can be a very productive runner.

Seems the Giants are on the verge or already have lost a couple OL if the reports I ahve been reading are correct.
They lost a couple of old injured OLmen and signed a Young Healthy Center - Baas from the niners
And the truth of the matter is that the GMEN's OL wasn't not that good at run blocking last season. Bradshaw had to break tackles at the LOS pretty routinely. Hope that Bass improves the interior blocking. As others have said, this was probably the best scenario for Bradshaw. Had FA happened first, before the draft, as normal, things might have been different. He will split time with Jacobs, but not too many backs don't split time any more, and he will be some TD looks, most of the passing out of the backfield, and a majority of the carries. Even the carries are more balanced than last season, Bradshaw should be a top 10 PPR back and a top 15 regular scoring system back.

Replaced the aging O'Hara with Baas. Diehl has moved from LT to LG, a position he's better suited for, PFF ranked him 27th out of 30 LTs last season so the change is a welcome one. Beatty, a second round pick 3 years ago is taking the LT spot. He's the question mark, if he can't keep the job then it's going to weaken the whole line if they have to move guys around. Giants also added UDFA FB Henry Hynoski, he's a thumper and should be an upgrade over Hedgecock who revealed he'd been playing with a degenerative spinal disease. Snee is a stud at RG and the underrated McKenzie is PFFs #1 RT for last season.

On paper they should be improved, hopefully Beatty is up to the task or protecting the blindside.

Fantasy: Reaction – Ahmad Bradshaw re-signs with the Giants August 1st, 2011 | Author: Kevin Boyle

....Fantasy Spin:

This transaction was anticipated throughout the off-season and the start of free agency, despite a brief flirtation by Bradshaw with the Cincinnati Bengals. For the Giants and fantasy owners, the status quo will be maintained. Bradshaw will be the Giants featured back, with Brandon Jacobs cutting into the workload as a complement. Last season the two backs accounted for 88% of the Giants rushing attempts, splitting 421 carries about 65-35, with Jacobs stealing some goal line touches (Jacobs did not act as a touchdown vulture last year as Bradshaw did manage eight touchdowns) and Bradshaw on the field for passing downs. All in all, this makes Bradshaw an RB2 and Jacobs a flex or bye-week replacement and handcuff. Unless there is a drastic change from last season, don’t expect Danny Ware to be a factor in fantasy.

:goodposting: That's exactly how I see his situation - top-ten in PPR, top-15 in non-PPR scoring systems. He's a guy you can get slightly below his value, IMO. Based on ADP at Mock Draft Central, he's going at #24 overall in regular scoring drafts, 15th RB off the board, for example.

Does anyone else have him as a top 8 RB next year?
No, and I'm a Giants fan. In fact, I will probably avoid him. He had upside last year, since people were unsure of his role. You could get him late. Where is the upside now? I don't see how he can drastically improve on his 2010 numbers without an injury to Jacobs.

Isn't Michael Bush a Free Agent? If he is I wish they would go after him.
I second this as a Darren McFadden owner
The new FA rules that judged him a three year vet, not counting his injured rookie year, make this impossible. I can't believe that any team is giving up a first round pick for Bush. He will play another year in Oakland and then next year we'll see what he can get on the open market.

Bush was deemed an RFA for this year. It would have taken a 1st and a 3rd from a team to sign him. Not going to happen.

Bradshaw was a fantasy stud the first half the year even with Jacobs around. He lost some carries (and goaline carries) later on because he kept putting the ball on the turf. If he holds onto the ball or Jacobs finds himself in the doghouse again he could retun to that stud-dom.And then there's the issue of talent/production. I truly believe that not only is Bradshaw the most underrated back in the league from a talent standpoint, but the most underrated back I can remember in recent history. Yes, I'm extremely (perhaps overly) bullish on Bradshaw, but I really believe his upside is a top 3 FF back for the foreseeable future.

I like him too, but top three is really bullish. Could you unpack that a bit - spin out the scenario for top-three production? Do you see Jacobs ending up as just a plunge back in 2011, or something like that?

Really? Much, much larger? Why? He's had exactly one dominant year, and is 28 years old. Bradshaw is the better, younger player.

If we are talking upside, you can start by taking last years first half stats and multiply that by two. That gives you a top 5 back. Now if you look at the top 8, I don't have anyone jumping into the top 8. I only see chances of players dropping out. I see Bradshaw anywhere between 5-10.
