Why is it ok for the NFL to fine players tens of thousands of dollars for the stupidest things (tweeting on the sideline; wearing a Mexican hat; etc), but if a team owner fines his HC for behavior that hurts the team then he is a bad guy? Cable was a wife beater who beat up an Assistant Coach. My only problem is that Davis should have fired him last off season because of that behavior and instead he kept him and then passed the legal fees on to Cable in the form of a fine. It would have been morally cleaner to just fire him when the conduct came out. In any case, it was conduct unbefitting a HC and a representative of the team, so he had every right to fine him.

In truth, Cable should have gone to jail for beating up his assistant Coach.

Did I miss it or did the article not say why Cable was being fined?

Why do any of you care if Al stiffs a coach out of money? Are you friends with these people? It's like when fans get all upset that a team "spends too much money" on a player, when it's not even their money anyway.

It's a point of interest just like any other money issue in the NFL. Do I care about how much the No. 1 pick is going to receive? Depends on what you mean by care. I certainly find it interesting. Do I care if Al Davis stiffs Tom Cable? Depends on what you mean by care. Again, I find it interesting. Enough to comment? Maybe. This is a message board where people discuss all sorts of issues related to the NFL.I find it interesting that someone would belong to a message board where the main topic of discusssion is the NFL and would drop into the middle of a discussion involving an issue related to the NFL to ask why people there are interested in the discussion.

I'm trying to figure out if I care before I respond to this post.
